The co-op gameplay in Greak 2 will be available locally and online, and there's also a solo mode for players that want to go at it alone.

Developer Navegante and publisher Team17 have unveiled a new game in the Greak series. Dubbed Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms, the title was announced with a trailer during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026. The trailer, which you can check out below, clocks in at over a minute in length, and showcases the game’s co-op metroidvania gameplay.

The side-scrolling title will heavily encourage co-operative play between two players, since each one of the characters has their own unique abilities. For example, one of them can pass through a strange jelly-like substance, while the other can’t. The co-op mode will be available locally and online. Along with this, players can also take on Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms on their own with a solo mode.

The original Greak – Memories of Azur – was released back in 2021. The title was designed as a single-player puzzle platformer, and as such, the co-op and metroidvania elements of Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms are a more recent addition. The first game revolved around the adventures of three siblings – Greak, Adara, and Raydel – as they worked together to successfully escape an invasion.

While not too many story details about Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms have been revealed, the fact that Greak is a returning character indicates that all three have survived the events of the first game and are now working together on a grander adventure.

Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms is being developed for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, and is slated for release in 2027.
