Man, don’t get me wrong, GRID 2 was a great game and everything, but when you’re trying to sell yourself as a racing game, the lack of a cockpit view is a glaring, puzzling, baffling omission. Thankfully, if the ace detectives on NeoGAF are to be believed, it appears that GRID 3, which is set to be announced sometime soon, will have a cockpit view- NeoGAF member CodiesLoore, who represents the publisher and developer, popped in to let players know that they listened to the feedback about the lack of the cockpit view.

And… that’s pretty much all we know about GRID 3, really. What systems will it be on? Is it next gen exclusive, or will it stick to last gen, or both? Will it too ignore Wii U like pretty much every other big game? When is it releasing? How much of an upgrade over the previous game is it? Stay tuned to GamingBolt to get these and more questions answered.

Codemasters have released a new video for… well, we don’t know. We know it’s a racing game, and- yeah, well, that’s all we know. Codemasters teases the game with the 18 second long video showing absolutely nothing but burning lines of …speed (?) and race car sound effects running in the background. The trailer is accompanied by the hashtag #RacingIsComing, and ends with the date 22.4.2014 on the screen.

We’re assuming Codemasters will reveal on the 22nd of this month (that’s four days away) just what this game is.

The most logical conclusion would obviously be that it’s GRiD 3, considering that Codemasters have gained pretty good success- both critically and commercially- thanks to the GRiD games, but you can never be too sure. It might be something else entirely.

Oh, also, props to Codemasters for making good use of the “Winter is Coming” meme.

Earlier today, something interesting was posted on the Codemasters’ official website.

“Test Drivers wanted – fancy a trip to Codies for super-exclusive, super-secret early game access? We’ve said before that we’re really focussed on getting your feedback about our games – well, one of the initiatives we’re keen to launch is to get you guys involved at a much earlier stage. Earlier, even, than announcement.”

Understandably, this post has caused rumors of GRID 3 to run rampant. You’ve got Codemasters asking for test drivers to come test an unreleased project. It’s not too difficult to make the logical leap here. This announcement comes right on the heels of the release of GRID 2 earlier this year.

Additionally, in the full text of the blog post, Codemasters requests the applicants submit a one sentence review of GRID 2, which, to many hopefuls out there, means that Codemasters is looking at the ability of applicants to provide succinct and helpful critical insight specifically relating to the GRID series.
