A GT Planet member who has a real copy of the game (Amar) has posted some pretty interesting new bits of information related to Gran Turismo 5 and we have them covered for you over here.

He confirmed that the game won’t have any rewind feature and you’re on your own once you start the race.

He confirmed the already known fact that standard cars won’t allow you to change your rims but at the same time pointed out another interesting fact that they will lack any kind of interiors aswell.

And no, really no, Standards do not have interiors too.

He also bought to the fore, another interesting point about Gran Turismo 5’s save files, those are copy protected and you can’t copy-paste them into your memory stick.

save files are really copy-protected, period. You can’t copy them to memory stick and that is it.

Gran Turismo 5’s pre-orders have shot through the roof over at Amazon after the announcement of its release date.  The normal edition saw a staggering  1300% boost in sales after the announcement whereas the CE saw a 823% boost in sales.

Interestingly, the release date also increased people’s interest in the console with the 160 GB PS3 seeing more than a 250% boost in sales.

This is really good news for Sony as it shows that they have played their cards well by releasing the game near Black Friday and the peak-holiday season.

Here’s a new GT5 video from the retail build of the game and it shows you the car delivery system present in-game.

Be warned as it may be a bit spoilerific.

GT 5 release date’s somewhere close by ( Nov 26 ) but we will wait for Sony to make an announcement first.

The game’s exclusive to the PS3 and will sell a LOT of copies apparently.

Jalopnik had a chance to quiz Gran Turismo creator, Kazunori Yamauchi about when will Gran Turismo 5 finally see a release and he had a response which might be soothing to many a fan’s heart.

“The discs are being stamped as we speak.”

That’s what he said. From the legend’s mouth himself. You now know that it will definitely be releasing this holiday and you can expect an announcement soon.
