Sony Computer Entertainment has officially announced a Gran Turismo 6 Anniversary Edition for the PlayStation 3 that will be coming out this November. Diehard fans of the Gran Turismo series can now jump in joy for the upcoming Anniversary Edition of the game.

The Anniversary Edition of Gran Turismo 6 includes well over 20 cars, a unique Polyphony steelbook case, one million in-game credits that allow you to purchase stuff, custom paint-jobs on vehicles and a whole brand new updated version of the in-game manual Apex.

For the full list of The Anniversary Edition content please check out here.

Gran Turismo 6 is coming out this Fall in November for the PlayStation 3, however; a PlayStation 4 version might also become a reality sometime in the future over the next year or so. If you’re a patient person I’d suggest you wait and see what happens, other than that you can simply play the game on your PlayStation 3 later this year unless you’re planning on spending a majority of your time with the PlayStation 4 this holiday.

New details for Gran Turismo 6.

GTPlanet managed to get a little interview going with Kazunori Yamauchi over at the “15 Years of Gran Turismo” event where Gran Turismo 6 was revealed. For those who don’t know, Yamauchi is the father of Gran Turismo franchise.

Many fans must have observed that Gran Turismo 6 is actually coming out after only 3 years since GT 5 came out in 2009. Yamauchi believes the PlayStation 3 was really hard to develop for (initially) but it became easier as time progressed.

“GT5 was really hard to develop, because the PS3 is a really complex piece of hardware, and it was the first time we built anything with an extensive online component,” he said in the interview.

He also shared his thoughts on the evolution of the Gran Turismo franchise as a whole. “I think the hardest part of GT1 was to make something out of nothing, and to shape it and figure out exactly what a Gran Turismo game was going to be.”

“The main difference between GT1 and GT6 is the scale of the game, it’s about 100 times bigger in scale. Initially we had 15 people working on the game and now we have 150 working on the game. But i think the one thing that hasn’t changed is that everyone working on it really enjoys the hard work, he said.”

Gran Turismo 6 also features a brand new lightning engine and according to Yamauchi, pixels will be represented more accurately in GT 6.

“It basically means the energy expressed in each one of the pixels is going to be represented more accurately. When the focus on the camera is on a certain item, the blurring and brightness of the area around it and how lights affect the environment will be rendered with more accuracy,” he said.

Looks like it might be happening according to the creator of GT after all

Sony has officially announced Gran Turismo 6 earlier today at the 15th Anniversary Event. The game is confirmed to come out this holiday season for PlayStation 3 even though PlayStation 4 is launching around the same time.

Yamauchi spoke to IGN earlier today at the Gran Tursimo 6 reveal event at Silverstone race track, and this is what he had to say regarding the possibilities of the PlayStation 4 version for Gran Turismo 6.

“We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now.”

“I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates. Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario.”

If the game did come out on the PlayStation 4, then the players would “probably” be able to transfer over their saved progress said Yamauchi.

Are you hoping to see Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 4? Let us know in the comments below.

Check back on GamingBolt for future updates on Gran Turismo 6 in the coming months as we near the release.
