Rockstar itself had, at one point said Trevor, Michael and Franklin would be coming back in new content for the game but they haven’t made any other comments since that first announcement. In fact, at one point, execs from the company actually tried to claim that no such promise of story based DLC was actually made. Forbes points out the firm made some comments to an investor at an earnings call that were rather funny when you look at how hard Take Two’s Strauss H. Zelnick worked at pretending no story DLC promise was made.

After Zelnick claimed no comment’s like that were made, the company later backtracked and said that kind of info could only come from Rockstar. Which is why it’s so frustrating that Rockstar has been so quiet about about any kind of new content. At this point, we have to hope they’re going to give us some great big surprise at some point by announcing it out of the blue. The further we get away from the original release though, the less likely that seems.

Since Grand Theft Auto 5 launched, there was a lot of talk about just how pretty the game was. Despite the fact that the game was already pretty, there have been a number of mods that make it even prettier. Mods have been the way of the GTA 5 world on the PC as well and those mods have changed the game up in a huge number of ways. It’s possible none of those changes have looked as good as the new screenshots that have surfaced as part of the ENBSeries beta mod.

Members of the ENSBseries have been working hard when it comes to coming up with new ways to make this game look bigger and better. Of course, there are some things that are a bit different about these mods. They aren’t putting the GTA 5 world under water, or even taking the water away from it entirely. These mods are all about just taking the world that already exists and glamming it up a bit. Two users in particular in dpeasant and Ryuken have actually been able to upres the world to the point that makes us wonder if Rockstar Games doesn’t wish they had given them a job.

Of course, the world is missing a few things, including a large number of people. The mods are apparently still a work in progress and there are going to be some things added later on. For now, you should check out the attached screenshots and marvel at the new Grand Theft Auto 5 mod.

The PC audience will nearly always find a way to get what it wants, and despite the initial best efforts of Rockstar to keep gamers from modifying GTA V, the modding community has grown quickly. So with that in mind, it was only a matter of time before one of the most loved parts of past Grand Theft Auto games was reintroduced by way of a mod, right?

That’s right ladies and gents, the Jetpack is back and it’s just as pointlessly fun as ever. Created by JulioNIB, the mod reinstates the Jetpack and once again gives flight to the GTA protagonists. This results into interesting gameplay mechnics which you can check out in the video below.

Speaking as someone who has spent a fair portion of the past month digging around inside Skyrim trying to get the perfect balance of graphical mods, you can believe me when I say that there are few things that I like to see in gaming as much as a good ENBseries setup.

Thus far, this unreleased ENB series mod from dpeseant is looking to be a fairly impressive affair indeed. It’s currently still being internally tested and there’s no guaranteed release date for the mod just yet, but the beta build screenshots show off a lovely bright world with a natural day light tone that I like.

Couple this with some high res textures and I would say you’ve got something to keep you occupied until the final release of this version rolls out. So to keep you on the edge of your seat, here are some screens of the work in progress build. If there’s one thing that PC gamers love, it’s playing around in the guts of their games to try and make them look as good as possible. Often, this is accomplished with simple mod files such as improved textures or model replacements, but as any fan of modding Skyrim will tell you, ENB the is king.

Grand Theft Auto V has been enjoying it’s fair share of mods recently, making the game just that little bit more insane than it already is, but this ENB (which is currently in Beta) gives the game a bit of a visual overhaul. ENBSeries Beta 0.271 introduces an improved version of MSAA, and also allows you to tweak the lighting for certain world objects.

This includes the clouds and sun saturation and most impressively you can change the “light sprite scale” and intensity alongside the water reflection multiplier to achieve a truly impressive look. Check it out in the video below and you can get the mod from here.

It’s pretty well known fact that there is a shortage of modern day great Star Wars titles in gaming, that’s why so many are looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront. But how can you scratch that Star Wars itch right now? Well, if you own a PC and a copy of GTA V, you can more or less become a Jedi, or most likely a Sith.

I doubt anyone playing GTA V goes into the game with a Jedi mentality. That’s right everyone, this GTA Mod gives players telekinetic force-like powers that allow you levitate, throw, slam and… ignite vehicles and pedestrians. The Mod makes use of the Numpad on your keyboard for various actions in the game world.

Pressing 7 will let you target pedestrians and 9 lets you target vehicles, with 5 lifting the target into the air and 0 slamming them downwards. Pressing 8 will throw your target forward, with 2, 4 and 6 throwing them south, west and east respectively. Pressing 1 will enable the Pyrokinesis ability, which does everything mentioned above, but adds fire.

I can honestly say that I have no idea why more and more developers are using Chromatic Aberration, which in reality is considered a bad thing, in their games. It’s not the most jarring of visual effects and it’s nowhere near as bothersome as Motion Blur, but it’s a fairly intrusive visual effect. Thankfully, The Creative Assembly and CD Projket Red give you the option to turn it off in their more recent titles, but Rockstar did not in Grand Theft Auto 5.

So here’s how to remove it in GTA V. First, you must download this mod. Once you’ve done that, open the openiv 2.6 – edit mode. Next, you need to Update.rpf > Common > Data > visualsettings.dat replaced. Next, Update.rpf > Common > Data > timecycle. and repalce all files.

The two required installation folders come separated in the rar. as Update and Common. Having navigated to common.rpf you need to replace visualsettings,dat and replace all files in timecycle. Grand Theft Auto 5 is now available on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Enjoy!

The chances are good that if you ever played GTA IV on PC and stepped into the modding scene or perhaps both at the same time, then you know about the iCEnhancer mod. A gloriously powerful mod that turned the bland and drab world of GTA IV into a near photo realistic version. We already know that the iCEnhancer people are working at getting the mod into GTA V, having spoken out on Facebook about it straight after the game launched.

Now however, we have the first gameplay footage of what you can expect thanks to a WIP progress build of the mod being used. Needless to say, it’s fairly beautiful. Speaking about it, Hayssam Keilany, of iCEnhancer fame, has said, “The first timecycle mod for GTA V.”

“I did that quickly though and blindly but it’s already pretty cool for the future. I removed the DOF weird noise shit during player transition and weapon changing, reduced the fog amount, i hated it, removed the blurry background, changed the sun color to something more neutral, less brown. changed the water, and removed the post effects for each character (as you may know, each character in V has their own post-processing).”

The team that has created FiveM,  a multiplayer modification for Grand Theft Auto V that allows gamers to play on dedicated servers and allows user-made game modes has released its first version of the mods for the PC version. The team has cautioned that these modifications are still in the experimental stage.

The FiveM team announced the release of the mods along with a description that credited Rockstar with already having a solid online multiplayer foundation in place. Because this is the experimental version of the build, it should be pointed out that the features that are there now are not the only features the team wants to offer. Those rushing out to start using these modifications will not yet have access to a key feature the FiveM team wants to bring along soon.

The group wants to eventually bring a kind of server browser in future builds that will allow users to browse through a number of dedicated servers. By doing this, the user will be able to choose what kind of user-made game modes they want to play in. These modes will have a wide variety of different set of game rules.

It should also be pointed out that Rockstar has been less than welcoming to certain mods when it comes to GTA V. While the company came out and said it won’t be banning people who play the game with a purely “cosmetic mod.” The question here is one has to wonder whether or not the FiveM mods would count as purely cosmetic. If you’ve had enough of exploring the massive sprawling world of Grand Theft Auto V and would rather take a nice quiet retreat to an empty northern snowy retreat, then boy do we have the mod for you. As shown in the video below, YouTuber Taltigolt takes you on a tour of North Yankton, a deserted northern snowy town which is, thus far, not available in the game outside of story events.

Why he’s playing as a monkey, well that’s anyone’s guess, but at least now you have the freedom to explore the town in your own time and to whatever extent you see fit.  You can find the mod here, hosted on a French site called gtamodding.fr.
