Each title in the trilogy has over 40 Achievements to unlock and many are tied to completing key story missions. The miscellaneous Achievements include wasting 100 gang members and completing 20 unique jumps in Grand Theft Auto 3; listening to all of the music stations at least once and causing $1 million property damage in GTA Vice City; and reaching max weight and drowning in GTA San Andreas. Fairly typical tasks by GTA’s twisted standards.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is out later this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will release in the first half of 2022 for iOS and Android. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

This trilogy consists of remasters for Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Along with improved visuals, there will be “modern” gameplay enhancements but they’ll still maintain “the classic look and feel of the originals.” More details will be coming soon but starting next week, existing digital versions of these titles will be removed from retailers.

In addition to the remastered trilogy, Rockstar is celebrating Grand Theft Auto 3’s 20th anniversary with some special gear in Grand Theft Auto Online. These will be available in the Fall through different events and will include commemorative clothing and liveries. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition packs Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto 3, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, polished up to a modern standard for a modern audience. It’s still unknown what improvements fans should be expecting from the game, but it’s supposed to be more of a remaster and a remake.

Shortly before rumors of a remaster surfaced, parent company Take-Two issued DMCA takedowns for a number of popular mods for the game. Of course, none of it is confirmed as of yet, although given the rating, more information will be dropping soon. Stay tuned.

Without further ado then, let’s get started.

HALF-LIFE 2

As one of the most iconic PC games of all time, it makes sense to kick things off with Half-Life 2- and though there’s been no shortage of mods for Valve’s masterpiece over the years, one in particular really stands out to this day. That mod is the Cinematic Mod, made by FakeFactory. The improvements in visual quality that it brings about it staggering. From the sharpness of textures to the detail in models for characters and weapons and environments, the Cinematic Mod breathes abundant new life into Half-Life 2.

There’s a certain subset of PC players who are waiting in dread for the next big title to be announced as an Epic Games Store exclusive with the granddaddy of them all being the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. The good news is that doesn’t seem likely at this point. The bad news is it doesn’t seem likely as it’s very possible it’ll be exclusive to a brand new (sort of) launcher that was just announced: Rockstar Games Launcher.

Technically speaking, the “new” launcher is actually the previous one they called the Social Club. But it seems they’ve put most of their PC library on there now. If you download now you’ll also get a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a limited time.

While Grand Theft Auto V was also released on Steam, with the rebranding and stronger push as a full launcher and storefront, don’t be too surprised if Red Dead Redemption 2 ends up being an exclusive there, if at least for a limited time frame. But hey, all of Rockstar’s other games are still available on other launchers at least, for now.
