Arc System Works released a new trailer for the next Guilty Gear game, revealing the two mystery characters it teased last month. These are Chipp Zanuff and Potemkin. More importantly, we get some rocking new tracks to showcase their explosive moves. Check out the trailer below.

A livestream was also held by the development team in which it confirmed a closed online beta test. This will take place in Spring 2020 but it’s unclear whether the beta will be available worldwide. Thankfully, there’s plenty of new gameplay to be had with characters like Axl Low, Sol Badguy, May and Ky Kiske along with Chipp and Potemkin.

Those attending the ArcRevo World Tour Final 2019 on November 16th and 17th will get their hands on the latest demo and try out all six characters. Guilty Gear will release in 2020 for PS4. Stay tuned for more details and potential new character reveals in the coming weeks.

Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear (title pending) has received a new trailer at SEA MAJOR 2019, showcasing the returning Axl Low. A time-traveler who fights with kusarigama, a couple of his moves and combos are showcased against the various fighters. Check it out below.

This is the third trailer for the game thus far – the first debuted at EVO 2019 and featured Ky Kiske, Sol Badguy and a new, unnamed fighter. Another trailer followed which teased the returning May, though her appearance is older. May would receive her own trailer later, which would also tease the appearance of Axl Low.

A playable demo for the game will be available at ARCREVO America 2019 with the above four characters and two yet-to-be-revealed fighters. Fans can expect the next trailer on November 3rd at 4 PM PST so hopefully we’ll learn their identities. Guilty Gear will be releasing next year and has thus far been confirmed for PS4. Wattam

Funomena’s Wattam is directed by the creator of Katamari, which means a fair bit of weirdness is explore. You explore a world of colorful characters, making friends with rocks, flowers and gaping mouths to solve puzzles and do other joyful things. The key element is that everyone has a melody which can be combined together, no doubt creating a song to herald the apocalypse. All jokes aside, if you’re looking for something truly unique, Wattam is out in December 2019 for PS4 and PC.

Guilty Gear 2020

Revealed at this year’s EVO, the next Guilty Gear looks simply stunning and that’s saying something given that Arc System Works is at the helm. Promising a compelling fighting game for newcomers and veterans alike, one that distills the game down to its core, the as-of-yet untitled Guilty Gear sees the return of Ky Kiske, Sol Badguy, May and Axl Low. Who else will return? We’ll find out more when it releases next year.

Arc System Works released a new trailer for the next Guilty Gear at CEOtaku 2019. It featured May, grown-up and still wielding an anchor. Teased in the previous trailer, some of May’s moves are showcased here including hitting her opponent with dolphins and killer whales. Which isn’t going to be the weirdest thing we see yet in Guilty Gear.

The end of the trailer teases the next “daredevil” in Axl Low. The time traveler looks slightly different here with a butterfly announcing his appearance and no dual scythes. The next trailer will be showcased at the SEA Major 2019 Singapore on October 12^th to 13^th so hopefully we’ll see Axl in action.

Guilty Gear is currently slated to release in 2020 for the PlayStation 4. We don’t know too much about the gameplay system, save for the fact that series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari wants a game that “new and existing players alike would want to get their hands on.” Don’t expect this to be an “evolution” of the franchise so much as a “complete reconstruction” made from the pieces that “make it unique and charismatic”. However, arguably the biggest part of the trailer is the end which reveals May. The Jellyfish pirate looks older here and has a new get-up but is still sporting her giant anchor. The next trailer for the game will be showcased at CEOtaku 2019 on September 27th to 29th. Fans will also get a chance to play the game at the ArcRevo World Tour Final 2019 on November 16th to 17th.

Regarding the approach to gameplay, series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari said it would be a “complete reconstruction” of the franchise, catering to new and old players alike.

Arc System Works’ new Guilty Gear title, which doesn’t have a final name, is set to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show. In fact, the developer confirmed that the fighting game receive new details at Sega’s stage show on September 13th (September 12th PDT). Series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari and director Akira Katano will be on hand for the presentation.

It’ll be a half-hour long, though whether we’ll see how more gameplay footage or how the game will be changing remains to be seen. Ishiwatari did state earlier that the sequel will be “a complete reconstruction of the franchise.” He noted that the core idea was neither “‘evolution’ nor ‘returning to roots’; nor is it an addition or subtraction of elements from existing titles. What we’re pursuing is a brand new experience for Guilty Gear.”

Whether it will actually appeal to new and existing players alike remains to be seen. Arc System Works has been on fire over the past year or so with its fighters, ranging from Dragon Ball FighterZ to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Its other fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus will also be present at Tokyo Game Show so keep a close eye out for that.

Arc System Works took us somewhat by surprise when it announced a new Guilty Gear at the EVO 2019 grand finals. It still features the gorgeous aesthetic we’ve come to expect from the franchise but seemed to include more stage transitions. But that’s not all we can expect from the sequel.

Series general director and creator Daisuke Ishiwatari posted a message on Twitter for fans and explained that the next Guilty Gear will be “a complete reconstruction of the franchise.” The goal is to “create a game both new and existing players alike would want to get their hands on.” That seems about in line with Ishiwatari’s comments last year about reducing the number of systems inherent in the fighting game and expanding its user base.

“The core concept this time is unlike those of the past titles—it is neither ‘evolution’ nor ‘returning to roots’; nor is it an addition or subtraction of elements from existing titles. What we’re pursuing is a brand new experience for Guilty Gear. To achieve that goal, we’ve disassembled the current franchise into fragments and sifted out the pieces that make it unique and charismatic, using those pieces to have a complete reconstruction of the franchise,” said Ishiwatari.

He notes that it’s a “high risk move” on the development team’s part. “However, we have an accumulation of plentiful resources and experience, a clear vision of our ideals, and the excitement towards a future of a new possibility.”

The next Guilty Gear will release in 2020. It will be playable on PS4 at the upcoming ArcRevo World Tour Final 2019 on November 16th to 17th. What other platforms could it be coming to? Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

A number of high-profile announcements were made during the EVO 2019 grand finals. Among them was a teaser trailer for the next Guilty Gear, developed by Team Red and helmed by creator Daisuke Ishiwatari. Check it out below.

There’s a lot that should be familiar to fans, like the animated faux-2D art-style, over-the-top attacks, and attack combos. An official name wasn’t provided aside from “new Guilty Gear“, and even the official platforms weren’t named. A launch for PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch seems a given though.

The last major Guilty Gear title was Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, an upgrade over Revelator which added two new fighters – Baiken and Answer. It also brought an expansive story and arcade mode along with new stages, new techniques for established fighters, and much more. It’s well worth a look, especially since the title is discounted on Steam. As for the new Guilty Gear, stay tuned for more details on a release.
