A listing for Associate Release Manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment mentions proximity to the same location as GYAAR Studio Base.

If you enjoyed Freedom Wars: Remastered and Patapon 1 + 2 Replay, two revivals of beloved Sony properties, then there could be even more in the future. A recent opening for part-time Associate Release Manager became available at Sony Interactive Entertainment, and it involves the usual, such as working with PlayStation Studios, collaborating with global teams, etc.

What’s especially interesting is that the job location is a five-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station. The latter is where Bandai Namco Studios and its GYAAR Studio Base operate. The latter is a brand that supports indie creators, with a contest that provides development funding totaling up to 100 million Yen, access to GYAAR Studio, equipment, support from other developers, and more.

Granted, it’s a bit of a stretch, but there aren’t many other notable studios located in the same area. It’s worth noting that Sony wouldn’t necessarily pull talent from GYAAR’s next contest, but instead coordinate with the latter for licensing its retro properties to indie or small developers. Even SAS CO., LTD., which developed Pataton 1 + 2 Replay, is on the smaller side with titles like Theatrhythm Final Fantasy All-Star Carnival to its credit.

As for which franchise Sony could look to revive, the sky’s the limit. PaRappa the Rapper, LocoRoco, Ape Escape – the list goes on. Stay tuned for updates, as always.
