Microsoft has just released a launch trailer for Halo Anniversary that shows the amazing game in action. Halo Anniversary is an HD update that increases the graphics a lot. It’s a remaster and not a remake but fans shouldn’t be discouraged as it looks awesome.

343 Industries has given us some details on Halo: Anniversary’s multiplayer. First and foremost, one of the most beloved maps in Halo history with Breakneck, the spectacular remake of the classic map Headlong, will be included in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Announced today at the Tokyo Game Show, Breakneck (also known as Headlong in classic mode) takes you back to Halo 2’s fan favorite large-scale multiplayer map.

Headlong provides a large, skyscraper-hemmed construction site with numerous vantage points for clever snipers as well as a large central basin for excellent vehicle combat, a map for 8-16 players.

Also in Tokyo, 343 Industries revealed new details around the title update for Halo: Reach. The update features the return of the iconic Halo: Combat Evolved Magnum pistol and classic playlists.

The update will also introduce a myriad of multiplayer fixes fans have been clamouring for, including balancing armour abilities like Armour Lock and Active Camo. Players will be able to experience a first taste of some of these changes when beta playlists become available on 4 October. The beta will be open to all Halo: Reach players with an active Xbox Live Gold membership, and will culminate with the launch of a full suite of classic playlists and map variants when Halo: Anniversary arrives on 15 November.

Microsoft has detailed the pre-order incentives for November’s HD remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, now called Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. An official art booklet will be shipped with the game to all those who pre-order it from GAME or Gamestation stores… wow, thanks, MS.

The art collection will be based on the art book “Halo: The Art of Building Worlds”.

Microsoft explains: “This 24 page, 170 x 135mm booklet contains a collection of ground-breaking art from the history of the Halo games including concept art, sweeping landscapes from the Halo universe, and of course the evolution of the Master Chief.”

Halo: CE Anniversary

This amazing new vidoc takes you on a journey through the Bungie’s eyes through Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST and Reach development. The studio states its experiences during development of Halo games and how they are ready to make something new.

It’s a must watch for every Halo fan, which really shows the hardwork that went into the franchise. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will launch in November this year exclusively for the Xbox 360, and gives you a chance to play through the FPS that started it all on consoles in glorious HD.

Here is the latest trailer for Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition from 343 Industries narrated by ‘Guilty Spark’, the Monitor of the Halo installation visited in the first game in the series.  The new completely remastered version of the first Halo game will have seven of the most popular multiplayer maps in Halo history ready for Xbox LIVE, also including new features such as cooperative play over Xbox LIVE, Achievements, new challenges, and new fiction to uncover.  Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will release for Xbox 360 on November 15 2011, exactly ten years after the original launch of the first Halo game.

So here is the latest video footage of the remake of Halo 1 of the campaign with some amazing graphics compared to the original.  This time around though you are going to play 4 player co-op which is new and of course the good old magnum pistol is back.  You can even switch back and forth to see what the original Halo 1 looked like graphically at any time and than switch back to the updated version, pretty cool.  Check one of the developers explain it a little more in the video above.  This level is called “Silent Cartographer” and the video is from this years 2011 Comic-Con.

Among the many, one of the most highly praised aspects of the original Halo game was its soundtrack. 343 industries have decided to rock a sacred cow by remastering the soundtrack and adding “completely new orchestration.” The music makers involved in the remake are The Skywalker Symphony orchestra, the designated house band of George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch, and Chanticleer, a Grammy winning vocal ensemble. All of this is being overseen and, for use a better word, orchestrated by Pyramid Studios:

“It was a huge undertaking to transcribe, orchestrate, and produce every note from the original game soundtrack files” said Lipson, Pyramind Studios COO/Audio Director.

“Our team approached every aspect of the music with an immense amount of skill and care, keeping the core Halo sound while updating the production to today’s highest standards.”

Microsoft Studios Senior Audio Director Kristofor Mellroth concur: “This wasn’t just a simple remaster, it was a completely new orchestration and recording using renowned talent and top live players. We are striving to create the ultimate love letter to Halo fans and celebrate Marty O’Donnell’s and Michael Salvatori’s original vision with grace and style”.
