Requires at least 250,000 units to be sold.

The future of Oddworld will be dependent on just how well Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty does according to creator Lorne Lanning. Speaking to Eurogamer at GDC 2014, Lanning revealed that the studio requires 250,000 copies of the game to be sold.

However, if the game manages to sell 500,000 units, there could be a new Oddworld title, potentially one focusing on Fangus Klot, which was to release on the original Xbox but was cancelled in 2005.

“Over the last year and a half, I’ve designed Fangus extensively. And I would like to be able to move into Fangus soon as a new IP in Oddworld.”

We could also see an HD remake of Abe’s Exoddus and future expansion packs for both Exoddus and New ‘N’ Tasty. There are also chances the series could come to the Xbox One, but it’s still unlikely as of now. What are your thoughts on Fangus making a comeback? Let us know in the comments.

Of course, terms and conditions apply for Yoshinori Kitase.

Next gen consoles have come and gone. The same can be said for Final Fantasy games, with the series having seen its highs, lows and unpredictable circumstances. But one thing has stated constant: Players still want to see a remake for Final Fantasy 7, arguably Square Enix’s most successful Final Fantasy game of all time.

Speaking to Eurogamer, series producer Yoshinori Kitase said he personally would like to make the game, but that it would be a tall order overall. “I can honestly tell you I would love to do that. If you simply ask me if I personally would like to do that, yes I would. Definitely. There’s no lie about it. But you must believe me when I say it would take a lot to happen.

“Even if I casually say I would like to do that, because it would be a huge project I would have to motivate myself to the level that I really am prepared to take on this huge responsibility

“I don’t know if those three things will happen simultaneously. It has to tick lots of very big boxes. I won’t rule out the possibility, but it would take a lot to make it happen. But should I ever take it on, it would have to be the biggest project I’ve done. My life work. So I would have to be as highly motivated as that to end up with something I’m very happy with. It’s a huge thing for me.”

One thing is for sure though. With projects like Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III incoming, Square Enix isn’t hurting for fan interest. If they really need the bump in profits though, look for a remake to be on the highest priority.

Lionhead Studios has announced that its remake of the first Fable game, which was due to release later this year, has been delayed to 2014. Lead designer Ted Timmins announced it over Lionhead’s official blog and and said it wasn’t an easy decision to make.

“We’ve been working hard for the past year to bring you the very best Fable Anniversary experience on Xbox 360. We feel though, that we need a little more time in order to meet our ambitions and give you, the fans, the best game possible.

“I know I speak for everyone at Lionhead when I say that we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to, and it gives us great pleasure to let you know that you can expect Fable Anniversary to be both on-shelves and online via the Xbox Games Store in February 2014. It’s not easy making these decisions.”

Fable Anniversary will feature updated graphics over the original along with new Achievements.

Brazilian rating board showed vgleaks that Castle of Illusion, a platform game developed by SEGA with Mickey Mouse as the main character is being remade for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PlayStation Vita.

Digital cover of the game was leaked earlier today.

New cover art just might prove that a remaster is incoming of the original game. Castle of Illusion HD would be fantastic, especially after Capcom revealed Ducktales HD Remaster.

Is this a possibly a new trend now in the industry, to re-release HD Remasters of old favorite games? Only one could dream.

Castle of Illusion originally came out back in 1990, imagine replaying this game in an awesome HD glory today.
