Rockstar announced several important changes to Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online yesterday – it announced a release date for the Rockstar Editor on PS4 and Xbox One, Freemode Events and the lack of future updates for PS3 and Xbox 360 going forward.

However, in an interview with IGN, design director Imran Sarwar said that there won’t be any single-player DLC any time soon. ““Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations. We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto V focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity.”

Given that 8 million players are logging in each week, it’s understandable. However, online players shouldn’t expect new Heists any time soon either. “Heists have been a huge success, and they really revitalized the GTA Online community. Heists encourage people to play together while giving them the chance to earn serious amounts of cash.

“However, as we’ve said before they were also a lot harder to make than we initially thought they would be, and it took us multiple tries to come up with the design that we eventually launched – but we believe and hope it was well worth the wait for everyone. They were a tremendous undertaking and for now we have other ideas for GTA Online that we’re working to deliver.”

One will hope that the Freemode Events gain traction since they look fun – they’ll be out next week so stay tuned.

Want to attempt the latest heists in Grand Theft Auto Online but having troubles with matchmaking? Rockstar’s recently released patch 1.09 (aka patch 1.23 for current gen consoles) has recently received notes and aside from the previously revealed graphical improvements, it makes matchmaking and auto-invites faster for heists.

The patch also adds a few more UI options including allowing players to join a heist as crew member at the Planning Board. Simply hit left on the D-pad when an active heist is available. Heist leaders can also opt for open or closed matchmaking. Similar to job invites, this lets players who join a heist also invite their friends. If “Client Invites” is off, then only the host can invite other players.

Other issues and bugs have also been addressed in the recent patch including the aforementioned vehicle deformation issues. Sadly, it seems the downgraded parallax occlusion on PS4 and Xbox One is still to be addressed. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Heists are finally available for Grand Theft Auto Online and naturally for a game with more than 45 million copies sold worldwide, there’s bound to be server issues with so many players updating at once. Many players reported problems in connecting to GTA Online and accessing Heists and the problems with Xbox Live didn’t help either.

Rockstar updated its support page to state that, “We are aware of some issues today with players having problems connecting to GTA Online, as well as issues with the Xbox Live service. We are working to restore full access to GTA Online as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please stay tuned to this page to monitor the performance of all platforms.”

New images and details for Grand Theft Auto Online’s Heists DLC dropped recently and while the content is scheduled to release on March 10th for current and next gen consoles, some users have reported receiving it earlier.

According to V7X3 on Twitter, “Hmm, Heist update spiked from 4.2 GB to 4.8 GB. Seems they’re finalizing a few things.” Another image was posted which showed off various details within the Heists.

Right now, it seems 4.8 GB is the standard size for the update on PS4 and Xbox One. The Xbox 360 and PS3 updates apparently weigh in at 1.2 GB.

Five Heists are being provided as part of the DLC and four players will have to team up to complete them. It should be noted that other content including new free roam activities and PvP modes like Adversary. Heists for the PC version will go live as soon as the port is out on April 14th. Rockstar Games has released a very brief teaser for the upcoming Heists content in Grand Theft Auto Online and it’s all about teamwork. The teaser shows a team of crooks planning out a heist with one team entering inside a secure facility to retrieve information while the second team stands by in helicopters. The second team will be responsible for evac as well as fending off any unwanted visitors, preferably via gatling gun. Check it out above.

Heists are perhaps the most anticipated feature of Grand Theft Auto Online since the original release of Grand Theft Auto 5. It will incorporate four player co-op and will have you committing robberies, raids and whatnot with your friends. New vehicles, weapons and mission objectives have been promised and we can’t wait.

Grand Theft Auto Online’s Heists release on March 10th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. Grand Theft Auto 5 releases on April 14th for PC along with Heists.

It’s official: Grand Theft Auto 5 has been delayed for PC yet again. Rockstar Games had been coy about the game’s system requirements for several weeks now and this delay is a sign that there’s still work to be done.

Originally scheduled to release on January 27th, the PC version will be out on March 24th. It will include the Rockstar Editor which will provide editing tools for clips on the Rockstar Social Club and YouTube. Heists will also be included in the PC version and are apparently coming to consoles in the next few weeks, though we’re not going to hold Rockstar to that.

At least the PC requirements for the game have been revealed. Minimum requirements include a 2.4 GHz CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia 9800/AMD HD 4870 with 1 GB VRAM (or better. Recommended requirements include either an Intel Core i5-3470 clocked at 3.2 GHz or an AMD X8 FX-8350 clocked at 4 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD HD 7870 with 2 GB VRAM. Either way, you’ll need a whopping 65 GB of install space.

Though Rockstar Games delayed Heists for Grand Theft Auto Online after promising its release somewhere around this point, YouTube user DomisLive has unearthed details regarding the various Heist missions that will be available. While you should be sceptical about these details, DomisLive did reveal accurate information about the I’m Not a Hipster update which recently released for GTA Online.

Some of the Heists include:

• Prison van rescue – Intercept a NOOSE van and rescue a gang member. Supports 16 vs. 16 players and opens at rank 5.
• Funeral – Similar to Witness Protection from GTA 4, gang members will be escorting a hearse of a lieutenant while rival gangs attempt to destroy it. Triggers when the Escort Crook Boss is killed with the funeral home coordinates list as 410, –1485.
• Territory Takeover –  Fight and control territory for added revenue.
• Fight Gangmate – Initiations are tough, and two gang teams will reportedly have a fist fight in order to join.
• Cop Territory – Essenitally cops take on missions but have no chance of refusing.
• Ornate Bank Heist – Here’s the real deal. 16 cops will attempt to stop 4 crooks from robbing a bank, where the vault must be hacked in order to steal the cash and deposited in a special location.
• FIB Grab – Very similar to the FIB heists in Grand Theft Auto 5, where a crew must break into the building to steal data. Check out the video above for more information on how this works out.
