We already know the unusual, Early Access, Splatoon-esque model that the new Hitman game, Agent 47, is adapting for when it launches later this year, but what we don’t actually know yet is what all we will get with the game when we spend money for it upfront- essentially, will Agent 47 have enough in it to justify spending $60 on it right off the bat?

That announcement is coming soon, after Gamescom, IO Interactive confirmed to VideoGamer today.

“We were very happy with our E3 overall,” IO studio head Hannes Seifert said. “I think the announcement went really well. People got the game… Obviously there are people who are nervous about the release model. Why? Because it’s new. It’s unproven. And I think people nowadays have a critical approach because some have good experiences, some have bad experiences and we need to gain people’s trust. That’s our next step.

“We will [announce what content is available day one] very soon after Gamescom,” Seifert continued. “This is a huge opportunity for us to listen to the world and to align with everybody. Based on that we will communicate our roll-out plan. We also need to complete it because I don’t want to promise a roll-out plan we can’t keep. We need to be very sure about this is the quality we can achieve and this is the point in time we can deliver it. When we promise that we will be good with that. That’s why it takes a little bit [of time] to make this plan solid. But I fully agree, before someone makes the commitment to buy the game they need to know what they’re getting. And that’s what we have to communicate in a very crystal clear way.”

He also confirmed that there will be no unnecessary microtransactions or DLC in the game.

“No microtransactions, no paid DLC,” he said. “The whole game will be for the full price, no extra cost. There is nothing hidden away you could even spend extra money on. That is very important to us. When we look at the overall scope of the game… we see that the game we’re currently creating – when it’s completed – it will be bigger than Blood Money. That’s a very good foundation to benchmark when we’re talking about the single-player campaign. If you add Contracts, online hits and other weekly content that we’re going to release it will be the biggest Hitman game ever created.”

Agent 47 will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC this December.

Remember Hitman: Agent 47, the second theatrical attempt at bringing IO Interactive’s beloved assassin to the silver screen? It turns out things are right on track for the film’s release as a new trailer for the same emerged and pretty much clued us in as to what the story would be about. Check it out above.

Rupert Friend is Agent 47 this time around and he’s pursuing Hannah Ware, who’s father apparently created the Agents program for The Organization. Zachary Quinto pops up to try and protect Ware but it’s obvious that Agent 47 is in no mood for road-blocks.

Movies based on video games are almost all universally bad but if, for some reason, you were anticipating the release of Hitman: Agent 47, which will be based on the original stealth video game series about assassinating targets, then there’s some news for you that you may not necessarily appreciate: the release of the movie, which was originally slated for February 2015, has now been pushed back. The good news is that it has been pushed back by only a few months, and the movie is still slated to release some time in Summer of 2015- specifically, August 28, 2015.

The movie will star Rupert Friend as Agent 47, the eponymous Hitman, which is an inspired casting choice; to those of you not in the know, Friend is well known for his performance in the hit Showtime TV drama series, Homeland.

Whether or not good casting choices point to a movie worth seeing remains to be seen. For now, I’d rather be hyped cautiously, if at all.

Hitman has already had a movie adaptation that released back in 2007 to some pretty negative reviews. However, that hasn’t stopped Hollywood from trying, as there’s a new Hitman movie coming up. Titled Hitman: Agent 47, this new one at least looks better than the last one, and it seems to have a pretty studded star cast as well, starring Rupert Friend (Peter Quinn from Homeland) as Agent 47, and Zachary Quinto (you know, the guy who plays Spock in the new Star Trek movies).

20th Century Fox released some footage of the game via stills at San Diego Comic Con, and they look promising enough, although I do kind of wish that they had released some video footage, even if it had only been a teaser.

As far as the Hitman video games go, the franchise is currently being rebooted, with a new game currently in development, after the developers took all the feedback from Hitman: Absolution to heart.
