Titled “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne,” the next update will introduce Mydei and Tribbie. The former is a Destruction character who deals Imaginary damage and seeks the Coreflame of Strife. The latter is a Harmony character who deals Quantum damage and is actually three figures – Tribbie, Trianne, and Trinnon, aka Tribios.

The livestream will also likely detail the next step in the Trailblaze quest and further delve into the trials and tribulations of Amphoreus. This storyline is the longest for the free-to-play RPG, playing out over eight updates in total.

The story of Amphoreus will span eight updates and see the Trailblazer and Dan Heng arrive first in the Abyss of Fate. They eventually learn more about the Titans that created the world and meet with Oronyx (who specializes in Time). Players will unlock the new Path of Remembrance and gain a new ally, Mem, who can fight alongside them in battle.

Other new locations await, but there will also be new limited-time characters to unlock. These include The Herta, the true appearance of the Genius Society member, who is an Ice Erudition character. Next is Aglaea, a Chrysos Heir on the Flame-Chase Journey that follows the Path of Remembrance. She can summon her own ally, the Garmentmaker, to execute duel attacks for massive damage.

Referred to as The Eternal Land, it’s home to the Chrysos Heirs, who participate in the Flame-Chase (a reference to the Flame-Chasers from Honkai Impact 3rd). Though multiple Paths converge in Amphoreus, the most notable is Remembrance, with new characters like Aglaea following the same.

The Path is about summons called Memosprites, which the Trailblazer will receive. How the story will play out remains unknown, but until Version 3.2, players can select a free 5-star Standard character as part of Gift of the Express. They’ll also have the option of utilizing Wishful Resin to target specific Relic rolls.

Its main mechanic resolves around Memosprites, summons with different abilities (which characters like Sunday can boost). You meet various characters in Amphoreus who follow the Path of the Remembrance, with the lore video below hinting at the debut of Honkai: Star Rail’s version of the Flame-Chasers.

Other noteworthy features include updates to the Relic System, with players able to use a new material called Wishful Resin. With Self-Modeling Resin, you can set a Relic’s main and sub-stats, making it much less frustrating to target rolls. Finally, there’s “Gift of the Express”, available from Version 2.7 until Version 3.2 closes out and lets players choose a 5-star character from the Standard Banner.

Version 3.0 doesn’t have a release date, but it arrives after Version 2.7, which could mean early 2025. Stay tuned for more details.

The story sees the Astral Express preparing to journey to Amphoreus, the mysterious Eternal Land, stopping by Penacony one last time. However, Sunday suddenly re-emerges and seeks a performance for his own reasons. What this could mean remains to be seen, but another mystery surfaces in Fugue. Following the events of Version 1.2, she’s restored thanks to Ruan Mei. Players will escort her back to the Xianzhou Luofu, though it won’t be straightforward.

As for their skills, Sunday is an Imaginary character on the Path of the Harmony. He can forward allies’ actions and increase their damage. Meanwhile, his Ultimate can restore energy for a single party member and boost their Critical Damage. Fugue is a Fire character of the Nihility who hits enemies with Cloudflame Luster at the start of battle, which deals Weakness Break Damage upon hitting zero. Her Ultimate also dishes out Fire damage and shaves away enemy toughness.

Both are five-star characters, with Sunday acting as an Imaginary Harmony unit and Fugue as a Fire Nihility unit. The former is significant for playing a major role in the Penacony incident when Version 2.0 dropped earlier this year. Meanwhile, the latter used to be Tingyun, serving on the Xianzhou Luofu before it was revealed in Version 1.2 that her identity had been “stolen.”

The Trailblaze Continuance mission sees the Caelus/Stelle, March 7th, and Dan Heng enrolling in the university, though something devious is seemingly occurring in the shadows. It draws the attention of Rappa, the new five-star character and a Galaxy Ranger like Boothill. Following the Path of the Erudition, she deals Imaginary damage in combat.

The update also marks a new Simulated Universe mode, where players gain Scepters and modify them with Components for different effects. Major five-star characters like Dan Heng – Imbibitor Lunae, Acheron, and Aventurine will also briefly return during the update. Stay tuned for more details when it goes live in the coming weeks.

Fate/stay night is one of history’s most popular visual novels; Unlimited Blade Works is its second major route. It places Rin Tohsaka center-stage and provides more details on the backstory of Archer. The route has significant narrative implications for the franchise – and protagonist Emiya Shirou – as a whole. Of course, it’s the title’s popularity as a whole that spawned the media juggernaut that Fate has become.

How Honkai: Star Rail will crossover remains to be seen, though the story has its fair share of inter-dimensional and inter-space hijinks. It seems a given that characters from Unlimited Blade Works could be available as new limited five stars, but we’ll need to wait for more details.

Characters like Yanqing and Jing Yuan return while newcomers like Yunli and other generals, including Feixiao and Huaiyan, debut. Players will also venture to the Shackling Prison beneath the Scalegorge Waterscape and encounter Borisin creatures. Unfortunately, things go wrong, resulting in a disaster.

As for the new characters, Yunli is the latest five-star Destruction character, dealing Physical damage and specializing in counters. Jiaoqiu arrives in the second half of the update as a five-star Fire damage character following the Path of Nihility. By inflicting Ashen Roast, enemies receive the Burn state, increasing damage taken, making him an ideal Support for Acheron.

If that wasn’t enough, Huohuo and Sparkle will also get re-runs. Version 2.4 will be free for PS5, PC, iOS and Android players, so stay tuned for more details.

The group meets to decide on the punishment of Aventurine following the Penacony incident. Aside from the Boss Baby vibes of Diamond, known to be an Emanator of Preservation, we can also see Sugilite and his immense wealth, the bloodthirsty (and vampire-esque) Obsidian, and Pearl, an Intellitron (who also votes for Amber). Another member, Agate, is presumed to be dead.

Interestingly, Diamond votes for Aventurine, allowing the latter to continue as part of the Ten Stonehearts. The trailer ends with the declaration of giving their all in the War of Aeons, perhaps indicating some involvement in the Trailblazer’s quest to confront Nanook of the Destruction.
