Community manager Cozmo clarifies that recent database mentions were "just dust and echoes."

Over on the Destiny sub-reddit, a rumour began about Prison of Elders being recently added to the Destiny 2 database. The Horde-like, three player mode was a new addition in the House of Wolves DLC and received its fair share of criticism at launch for its round-based combat, loot quality and difficulty of boss fights (especially Skolas). That being said, Bungie did improve on it significantly into the first game’s lifespan.

But is it really coming to Destiny 2, especially with concerns about the current lacklustre end-game? As it turns out, no. Bungie community manager Cozmo clarified in a comment that there were, “No current plans to bring PoE to D2. This is just some leftover bits. Pardon our dust. Just dust and echoes.”

Considering the number of things that were left out of Destiny 1 when the transition was made to Destiny 2, this is understandable. It probably would be tough to implement as well given how the activity took place within a separate space of sorts (The Reef). Whether it’d be welcome or not will be an interesting debate to watch out for.

As passionate as they can be, Destiny players are guilty of many, many things.

If you’ve never played Destiny, Bungie’s shared world first person shooter, then you’ve missed what many consider the best community in all of gaming. Of course, many others consider it the worst game ever made. The point is, Destiny players have been guilty of a number of things, highlighting the sheer madness the game can inspire. Let’s look at 15 of those things below. And remember – Destiny players probably don’t do any of this now but there’s always been that one time.

Another Character

In Year 1 and 2 of Destiny, one thing became abundantly clear – if you wanted to get the best loot out of raids, you’d better make multiple characters of the same class. Given how bad the drop rates were for Vault of Glass and Crota’s End (especially when it came to helms), many players resorted to creating the same class and completing the game numerous times for chances at more loot.

Prep your Solar and Arc weapons for this week's Nightfall.

The wait for Destiny’s The Taken King is becoming rather arduous at this point, especially because it means another two weeks of the same Nightfall and Weekly activities, some which have been cycling continuously since the release of House of Wolves.

This week’s Nightfall is Cerberus Vae III with Valus Ta’aurc as your target. Modifiers include Nightfall, Epic, Solar Burn, Arc Burn and Brawler. Not a bad mix though pretty much every enemy uses Solar attacks (with Psions possessing Arc damage). The weekly Heroic is more of the same with The Shadow Thief and it features Angry on top of the Heroic modifier.

Prison of Elders activities include Broken Legion at level 32, Urrox’s Grudge at level 34 and Skolas with Angry and Catapult (which decreases the cooldown of grenades) at level 35. Head here for a breakdown of Variks’ inventory for this week which includes the Wolves’ Leash scout rifle.

Destiny: The Taken King, meanwhile, is out on September 15th.

The Shadow Thief yet again.

With Destiny’s latest weekly reset brings the Shadow Thief as the Nightfall again. Sound familiar?

The modifiers are a bit different though with Solar Burn, Void Burn, Epic, Nightfall and Grounded active. Grounded will definitely be interesting since it causes you to take more damage while airborne but there’s also the threat of being one hit killed by Taniks’ Scorch Cannon. Keep those Gjallarhorns ready.

The Weekly Heroic is the Summoning Pits strike with Heroic and Small Arms modifiers active. Meanwhile, the Prison of Elders sees a bit of an activity change – Machine Wrath is now level 32 while Cult of the Worm is this week’s level 34 Arena. Skolas on level 35, meanwhile, has Small Arms and Lightswitch modifiers active.

If you’re curious what Variks is selling in the House of Judgment (hint: it’s chest armour), you can head here. What are your thoughts on this week’s activities? Let us know in the comments below.

Good news! More of the same!

Bungie’s Destiny still has a month to go before The Taken King – and lots of new content (or so we hope) – arrives. Until then, the weekly reset has come and gone for the game, leaving players to do what they’ve already done many times already.

This week’s Prison of Elders level 32 is the Forever Eater, Qodron while the level 34 arena sees you taking on Kaliks Reborn in Machine Wrath. Be careful how your approach the Servitor – the Grounded modifier ensures you take more damage if you leave the ground.

The Nightfall this weeks offers some interesting modifiers. It’s Winter’s Run and offers Arc Burn, Solar Burn and Small Arms so have fun one-shotting fools with Fatebringer, Jewel of Osiris or your favourite elemental scout rifle. Epic and Nightfall modifiers are also in effect so don’t get too aggressive lest. The weekly Heroic strike is The Will of Crota with Brawler and Heroic modifiers active.

Head here to find out more information enemy waves and what Variks of the House of Judgment is selling this week.

Venture to Venus for this week's PvP event.

After having a random assortment of maps two weeks ago for its Trials of Osiris PvP event, Bungie has decided to go back to the way things were in Destiny. Last week only saw one map in the rotation – The Burning Shrine on Mercury – and this week, it’s the Thieves Den on Venus. Trials of Osiris only recently went live and will continue until Tuesday’s weekly reset.

Brother Vance, the Disciple of Osiris, has some new gear for you to pick this week as well including the Hood of the Exile for Warlocks, Cover of the Exile for Hunters and Helm of the Exile for Titans. The weapon this week will be the Jewel of Osiris, a Legendary handcannon (it comes without a burn though so rack up those flawless passages if you a Solar/Arc/Void version). You can check out the different rolls on gear here.

What are your thoughts on this week’s Trials of Osiris map? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.

The wait for Destiny’s The Taken King DLC continues but it feels all the more agonizing with each Weekly Reset. That’s because many of the weekly activities have been almost the same for several weeks in running and there really isn’t much variety to expect at this point.

Take the Prison of Elders for instance which has The Broken Legion at level 32, Urrox’s Grudge at level 34 and Skolas’s Revenge at level 35 with Brawler and Juggler for the battle with the boss himself.

The new Nightfall isn’t all that new either. It’s the Shadow Thief again with Epic, Juggler, Arc Burn, Nightfall and Brawler modifiers active. Weapons like Fatebringer and Fang of Ir Yut will see you through, though a Striker Titan couldn’t hurt. The Weekly Heroic is Winter’s Run with Heroic and Juggler modifiers.

Head here for the full breakdown on enemy waves and House of Judgment inventory for this week. Or you can wait for The Taken King which is out on September 15th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.

The hardcore PvP event won't just be contested on one map this weekend.

Think you’re a top-tier Trials of Osiris player? Destiny developer Bungie has an intriguing little twist for this week’s event.

Rather than using one map for the entire run of Trials this week, the developer has decided to incorporate all six maps seen thus far. That means instead of playing the same map over and over again, you’ll have to manage close quarters of Thieves’ Den, the death doors of The Cauldron and, well, the beach of Burning Shrine. Black Shield, Pantheon and Widow’s Court will also be part of the rotation.

It’s an interesting little twist though it’s doubtful it will remain permanent. You can head over to Bungie’s Weekly Update and scope out different heat maps for previous Trials events to find out the best safe spots.

Destiny’s Trials of Osiris event goes live at 10 PM PST every Friday and lasts until the weekly reset at 2 AM PST every Tuesday. Will you be taking part in this weekend’s massacre?

What challenges await this week in Bungie's online shooter?

This week’s reset for Bungie’s Destiny brings some familiar missions and activities (but of course). What can you look forward to in the Nightfall and Weekly Heroic?

For the Nightfall, you’ll be running through The Will of Crota with Arc, Void and Solar Burn all active. This means that enemies are as capable of doing up to 350 percent more damage with elemental weapons as you are so exercise caution. Nightfall and Epic modifiers are also active.

The Weekly Heroic takes place in Winter’s Run where you’ll have to hunt down the Archon Priest. Void Burn is active along with Heroic but be wary of Minotaurs and Servitors since they use Void attacks.

As for Prison of Elders, the level 32 Arena is Cult of the Worm while level 34 sees you taking on Valus Tra’ug of the Broken Legion. This week’s level 35 activity sees you battling Skolas with Small Arms and Lightswitch active. Increased primary weapon damage is great but beware of one-hit kill melee attacks from enemies.

Head here for more details on each wave and the rewards Variks will offer to those who survive the Prison of Elders.
