Basic Tips And Tricks

While Injustice 2, like with all Nether Realm Studios fighters, is far more accessible than something like Guilty Gear or even Street Fighter, it nevertheless has some intricacies and complications that you would do well to understand before jumping headlong into the game.

• Injustice 2 runs at 60 frames per second. I swear this is important to the gameplay, as you will soon learn.
• Ultimately, the point is that everything, from attacks, to stance flips, to movement, takes up a number of frames. The more frames an action takes up, the more ‘wind up’ time it has. Actions that take more frames usually are more devastating if they hit, but they also commit you to them for longer, giving your opponent longer to find a way to avoid them and find an opening.
• There are three kinds of attacks per character- Light, Medium, and Heavy. They take 1, 2, and 3 frames respectively.
• You will see four bars in the bottom corner of your character’s side of the screen. These are your Meters. They fill up each time you land an attack. When you have a full meter, you can perform a Meter Burn to power up your special attack.
• When you have all four Meters filled up, you can activate a Super Move, which is a devastating attack that takes everyone out.
• Pay attention to your Gear. Reroll it if you don’t like its stats, and if you don’t like how it looks, but it has high stats, Transform it, but don’t just get rid of it!

Super Moves of Every Character:

You know what Super Moves are. in the vein of fatalities from Mortal Kombat or Final Smashes from Super Smash Bros., these are highly flashy finishing moves that take out all fighters in a spectacularly over the top cutscene. The video below showcases every single Super Move for all characters in the game.

As time goes on, and the community learns more, more and more tech and combos will be discovered and uncovered for Injustice 2. As it stands right now, however, these are all the combos we have been able to unearth. Of course, for the more popular characters, we have more tech than we do for the less popular ones- still, there should be enough for you to get on with for the time being.

Gear Customization Guide: 

Arguably the most controversial aspect of the game, the gear you equip on your characters in Injustice 2 can change not just how they look, but how they perform in battle. So obviously, it is paramount for you to have a full handle on the Gear system. Here’s a short primer.

Stats

Gear can raise your stats. Here are the four stats that are directly influenced by the Gear you wear:

• Strength: The damage dealt by your physical attacks and combos
• Ability: The damage dealt by your special abilities
• Defense: The damage you take
• Health: Your max health

Gear can raise more than one of these stats- so you always want to try and find something that nets you the most benefit.

Augments

Augments are special abilities you get for equipping certain gear pieces. These bonuses are usually like extra EXP earned, or increasing the amount of credits and currency you earn.

Set Bonuses

Equipping multiple pieces in a certain set of gear can unlock special effects and bonuses for your character- the more pieces from a set you wear, the more pronounced the bonuses become.

Abilities

Gear can also modify certain abilities for certain characters, usually modifying your attacks, and making them more powerful.

Regeneration

Lets you reroll your gear. This can change the stats it has (usually via RNG), and it increases its level. You can choose to keep the old stats if you liked them more, if you wish.

Transformation

Using Source Crystals, you can transform how the gear looks without affecting its stats. This is great, because you can deck out a character exactly how you want to, without affecting their abilities that you may already be familiar with.

Leveling Up Faster

Your characters level up in Injustice 2, performing better at higher levels- you unlock new combos and abilities each time you level up, you can equip higher level gear, and you just generally do better the higher leveled you are.

So how do you increase levels on your characters quickly? We’ve got your back:

• Play on a higher difficulty. Higher difficulties net more EXP
• AI Battle Simulation. Just let the computer play and earn some XP for your characters
• Mix it up. Use a variety of moves and abilities, since using the same attacks limits your EXP gain
• Multiplayer. Whether online or local, multiplayer increases net EXP gain
• Microtransactions: If you just want to get the leveling out of the way quickly, you can pay 10,000 Source Crystals to do so. You can either have earned these Crystals – which takes a lot of time, and if you were willing to spend the time, why not just farm the EXP to begin with? – or you can buy them using real world money on the PSN or Xbox Stores
