Sony promised a big-name game for PlayStation Plus’s Instant Game Collection in June and it wasn’t kidding. Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will be available for free next month on the PlayStation 4 and it’s arguably one of the biggest games ever to grace the free service.

Ground Zeroes released in March 2014 and served as the prologue to the MGS5 story. Because of this, it was relatively shorter in length and served as more of an introduction to the new gameplay style that Kojima Productions had been cultivating in the FOX Engine. The epilogue will be Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, releasing in September 1st, and this is a great way to get PS4 consumers acquainted with the story before its thunderous conclusion.

Other free games out next month include Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition for the PS4; Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe on the PS Vita and PS4; and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom on the PS3. After a bogus report on the same, a new video has surfaced on the official PlayStation YouTube channel which shows off the free games PlayStation Plus subscribers can expect in August.

PS4 users will be receiving two free games next month, namely the Road Not Taken, a rogue-like title from the makers of Triple Town on mobiles, and Fez by Polytron Corporation, arguably one of the best indie platformers in recent years. Less noteworthy than the game was its creator Phil Fish who quit the industry following a Twitter spate but that doesn’t diminish how great Fez is.

PS3 users can look forward to Crysis 3 and Proteus while PlayStation users will receive Metrico, a puzzle platforming title, and Dragon’s Crown. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5 to 7 will be making its way to European PS Plus subscribers only.

It was recently reported that Sony’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection for August had been leaked. This is essentially the line-up of free games that PS Plus subscribers could expect next month and it would have apparently included Octodad: Dadliest Catch and The Swapper for PS4, Saints Row IV and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for PS3, and 1001 Spikes and Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland for the PlayStation Vita. Of course, no real source was provided aside from a random tweet from Russia.

Curve Studios’ Rob Clarke responded to the report and said The Swapper would in fact not be available for free in August. Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis also wrote on Twitter, “Feel free to ignore [the rumours],” in regards to 1001 Spikes being available next month for free on the Vita to PS Plus subscribers.

Sony has finally confirmed the free PlayStation Plus titles that will be heading to the Instant Game Collection in June. This month will be extra special because both European and North American subscribers will be receiving two PS4 titles for free rather than one. These are Trine 2: Complete Story and Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate.

For North America, you’ll receive NBA 2K14 and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time on the PlayStation 3 with the latter being a cross-buy title. This means you’ll be hopping with Sly and friends on the Vita as well. PS Vita games will include Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe.

Meanwhile in Europe, PS3 players can look forward to NBA 2K14 and horror adventure title Lone Survivor: Director’s Cut. PS Vita games include Dragon’s Crown and Surge Deluxe.

Reverge Labs’ Skullgirls Encore will be available tomorrow to PlayStation Plus subscribers in the US and they can download the game for free to add to their Instant Game Collection. Other deals including content for free to play titles like Blacklight Retribution, DC Universe Online and Dust 514 are also detailed.

Skullgirls Encore is a fighting game that sees you playing as some rough and tumble “Skullgirls” in a vivid 2D fighting style. You can play as Cerebella with her living hat, the immortal Ms. Fortune who dismembers herself as part of her attacks and many more. There are several new stages, music and gameplay updates available as part of the Encore version.

The PlayStation Store will update tomorrow to include Skullgirls Encore, so you have less than a day to pick up other Instant Game Collection titles like Unit 13 for the PS Vita and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for the PS3.

If you’re currently situated in Europe and subscribing to PlayStation Plus, then you’ll love what May has in store for you. Indie puzzle platformer Stick it to the Man will be available for free on PS4 starting on April 30th but that’s not all.

Payday 2 and Puppeteer will be available for PS3 gamers. This means you’ll have access to one of the best co-op multiplayer titles and one of the best platforming games of the last generation. But that’s not all – PS Vita users will receive Everybody’s Golf, a title that promises to makes full use the PS Vita’s rear touch pad functionality and the touchscreen controls.

So what does April hold? For European gamers, there will be access to Mercenary Kings on the PS4, Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 and MotoGP 13. Sly Cooper Thieves in Time and Hotline Miami will also be available for the PS3 with the cross buy option, which allows you to play the game on the Vita as well as console.

North American gamers on the other hand will have Mercenary Kings PS4; Batman: Arkham City, Stealth Inc. A Clone in the Dark and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will be available for PS3 while Velocity Ultra and Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD will be available on the PS Vita.

After rumours indicated the same, Sony has finally confirmed the March line-up of PlayStation Plus offerings for both Europe and North America. The Instant Game Collection was leaked not too long ago, while PlayStation Blog Asia confirmed the existence of Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition for the PS4.

PS4 players on both continents will be getting just that, along with Tomb Raider on PS3. North American gamers will be receiving Thomas Was Alone and Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut for the PS3, while Unit 13 and Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite will be available for the PS Vita.

European players can expect Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for the PS3 alongwith Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD and Smart As! for the PlayStation Vita. Sound like a good enough selection for you? Keep in mind that previous games like Outlast for the PS4 and Metro: Last Light on the PS3 will be out from March 5th onwards.

Sony has unveiled the new Instant Game Collection content for the PlayStation Plus members in North America for June via PlayStation Blog.

This update features five free games, three for the PlayStation 3 and two for PlayStation Vita. The PlayStation 3 games are Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Saints Row: The Third, and Mechinarium which is also for PlayStation Vita. The two PlayStation Vita titles are Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward and Orc Attack.

This is quite an impressive update, many excellent titles such as the critically-acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Saints Row: The Third. Mechinarium is also a well known and designed fun indie title.

Sony has announced a new classic white edition PS3 bundle and the new thing here is that it features the Instant Game Collection of PS Plus, so not only do you get a PS3, you get a ton of new games as well.

The bundle will retail for $299.99, and it comes with a 500GB HDD along with a one-year membership to Playstation Plus which is what gets you the Instant Game Collection.

The games are LittleBigPlanet 2, Infamous 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, WipeOut 2048 and the likes.

Sony has released a lot of new bundles but the white PS3 comes to U.S. after a long time, and is something a lot of people have been wanting to buy because of how great it looks.
