After being available on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 first, Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Invasion DLC finally arrives for PC, PS3 and PS4 today.

The new DLC includes four key maps – namely, Pharaoh, which takes place in an Egyptian-themed setting with traps and collapsing pillars; Departed, set during Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival wherein you can pick up a care package and assume the Death Mariachi identity to bring downed enemies back to life; Mutiny, which is set in a pirate port with an actual ship that can be called in for mortar strikes; and Favela, a remake of the Modern Warfare 2 map of the same name.

The DLC also include a new episode for the on-going Extinction campaign. Episode 3: Awakening sees you heading to the aliens’ underworld in order to dismantle the Cryptid’s invasion plans. You’ll take on new enemies, including flying foes, in the process.

Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts has received a new update for all platforms which introduces a good number of changes and improvements.

Those worried about spawn campers can now rest assured as the system will now choose better spawn points if the overall number of spawn location is limited on a particular map. Weapons have also been balanced with assault rifles, SMGs and LMGs now needing more than one body shot and one head shot to kill.

Player class has now been made to appear above player’s heads next to their Gamertag in-game, Kastest rounds now explode from a distance and various other changes and adjustments to the system including new anti-cheat improvements. Head here for more patch notes.

Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts is still going strong despite the fact that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is edging closer and closer. It recently received the Invasion DLC pack for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and on July 3rd, the DLC will be coming to PS4, PS3 and PC.

To celebrate the same, Infinity Ward has tweeted that there will be a double XP weekend for player starting today. That means double the experience points till Monday so queue up today and rack up those kills.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion adds a significant amount of content this time around with four maps – including a remade version of Favela from Modern Warfare 2 – along with new weapons and a new chapter for the Extinction campaign. As with every other Call of Duty game (including this year’s upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare), Call of Duty: Ghosts first got its DLC available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One; this includes the Invasion DLC, which is the third map pack released for the game, and includes four new mutiplayer maps, as well as ‘Awakening,’ which is the next installment in the game’s ‘Extinction’ saga.

This being the third map pack for Ghosts should mean that there is one more left before Advanced Warfare releases, and post release support shifts to it instead of Ghosts; it is safe to assume that the fourth map pack, called Nemesis, will also be hitting the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 before it hits PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or PC.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was developed by Infinity Ward, and was the first non Modern Warfare Call of Duty game developed by the team since 2007’s Modern Warfare. It was released for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U, and PC.

Infinity Ward released a new trailer and screenshots for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Invasion. We finally have a good look at the maps this time around, which include Pharaoh, Favela, Mutiny and Departed. We also get a look at the next chapter of the new Extinction campaign, titled “Awakening”.

Each map appears to have its own unique hook – Pharaoh allows you to topple structures and activate tombs with traps; Favela is full of twists and turns not unlike the Modern Warfare 2 area of the same name; Mutiny allows you to call in ghost pirates and a warship for artillery support; and Departed equips you with an interesting care package that channels Desperado and El Mariachi in many ways.

The Extinction episode will now feature new flying aliens along with a rather trippy new location. We’d call spoilers on the story if we knew what the hell was going on.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion arrives on June 3rd for Xbox 360 and Xbox One first. Releases on PlayStation platforms and PC will follow afterwards.

Call of Duty: Ghosts’ third DLC pack, Invasion, is already on the way it seems. Screenshots of the maps within the DLC were leaked on the PlayStation community forums and showcase some of the exotic new places you’ll be visiting this time around.

The three maps shown include Pharaoh, which is set around ancient Egyptian ruins; Departed, which takes place in Mexico during the Day of the Dead festival; and Mutiny, a harbor where a pirate ship is docked nearby. The maps are all colourful and carry their own atmosphere. It sure will be interesting to shoot our friends up in them.

TopWare Interactive, the chaps behind the Two Worlds series has decided to take it upon themselves with assistance from the studio behind the movie to turn it into a suprisingly interesting sounding game which will be hitting retailers around the world on November 30th for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

When I first heard Iron Sky: Invasion, I instantly assumed it’d be another shooter being chucked into the already overcrowded market however it’s actually quite the opposite. Instead, you’ll be defending Earth with its range of super-secret space ships against the evil Nazi onslaught however you better get working on your politics as you’ll want to avoid stepping on anyone’s toes or suffer the consequences.

Space combat, Nazi’s, politics, humour? Can’t help but be curious.
