Some of the folks over at Hitmanforum picked up on a mysterious, though not so subtle, image in a catalogue at the Sundance film festival: A box of doughnuts with a bar-code, already a hitman symbol, ending with a highlighted ’47’, the series protagonist’s code number. Beneath that is the incredibly confounding ‘hitmanseries.ru‘ in big print. The community at hitmanforums proceeded to contact the advertiser, only to receive more cryptic images; some paperwork, another bar-code and some all too familiar black gloves. If this is legitimate then this will be the first public acknowledgment from IO of a new hitman title.

IO Interactive working on a “AAA” unannounced project

IO Interactive’s working on an unannounced “AAA” title right now, seven job listing’s for the developer’s revealed.

It’s citing this project as being one of its “most exciting projects” in the developer’s history.

The listing searching for a new “Lead Character Designer,”, revealed that the team is working on this new title.

Here’s the blurb:

“We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team as Lead Character Artist to complete one of the most exciting projects in IO Interactive’s more than 10 year history in videogames and play a major part in the games we have in the future pipeline.”

What could it be? Maybe, just maybe, a bald assassin with a barcode behind his skull might have the answer to that!

We’ll have to wait and see for now.
