Learn how to unlock every secret skater with this guide for both Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

There are nearly 40 pro skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, with six secret skaters mixed in among them. Unlocking them requires a variety of criteria to be met. This guide lists all the secret skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and how to unlock them.

Doom Slayer

Doom’s protagonist can only be unlocked by purchasing either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade for the base game. Doom guy has a Park Style and a Goofy Stance.

Revenant

This Doom antagonist can only be unlocked by purchasing either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade for the base game. Revenant has a Freestyle and a Regular Stance.

Michelangelo

One of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Michelangelo can be purchased from the Secret Shop for the steep price of $10,000. He has a Street Style and a Goofy Stance.

Andy Anderson

Canadian skater Andy Anderson is another purchase in the Secret Shop for a much more affordable $5,000. Andy has a Freestyle and a Goofy Stance.

Bam Margera

TV celebrity and former pro skater Bam Margera can be purchased for $5,000 as well, from the Secret Shop. Bam has a Street Style and a Goofy Stance, just like Michelangelo but for half the price.

Birdman

Birdman is unlocked from the Secret Shop but may not even be visible until you complete every goal on every stage. At that point, you will be able to buy Strange Feathers for $5,000 from the Secret Shop which actually unlocks Birdman for your roster. Birdie has a Park Style and a Goofy Stance.

Constable Richard

Not quite Officer Dick, Constable Richard is about as hard a task to unlock as the one required for Birdman. There is a single Panda Plushie secreted away on each of the game’s 19 stages, and all of these will have to be collected in order to unlock the option to buy Constable Richard for $5,000 in the Secret Shop. He has a Vert Style and a Goofy Stance.

Those are all the unlockable skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and how you go about unlocking them.

Developer Iron Galaxy apologised for the reference, which showcases a Guitar Hero-style game box in a trash bin in Waterpark.

With the recent release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, players have been finding several Easter eggs throughout, referencing other classic games and franchises of the era. One player even took to Reddit after having found a less-than-flattering reference to the Guitar Hero franchise in the game, showcasing a box for a similar-looking game in a trash bin in Waterpark.

Some fans in the comments have called this disrespectful of the original developers of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater – Neversoft – who would eventually go on to work on Guitar Hero games from Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock to Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Others have called it a great joke. Developer Iron Galaxy, however, has also commented on the Reddit thread, apologising for the reference to Guitar Hero in the game. In its post, the studio wrote that it has respect for anyone who makes games and that it will be removing the asset in the next update while also investigating how it got there to begin with.

“We have the utmost respect for anyone who makes games, we’re investigating how that got in there in the first place,” wrote Iron Galaxy. “Thank you to the community for bringing this to our attention, and we’ll be removing that from the environment art in the next update.”

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was released over the weekend on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2. At the time of publishing, Iron Galaxy hasn’t yet confirmed when it will be releasing this update for the game that will remove the Guitar Hero reference.

Just a couple of days after the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Iron Galaxy had released a new trailer, this time showcasing all of the positive critical reception it got. It’s a complete, ground-up remake of the classic arcade-style skateboarding games. Leading up to its release, Iron Galaxy had published a detailed post where it revealed some of the accessibility features of the game. These features range from an in-depth tutorial for all aspects of the gameplay to more granular options, like altering gameplay speed.

In a fun twist, the gameplay speed option, noted Iron Galaxy, can also function as a difficulty increase. Players seeking a high level of challenge can adjust it to three times the intended speed, giving players much tighter windows to pull off all of their trick combos.

It is worth noting, however, that among the changes made as part of remaking the classic titles, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 does not feature the open-world maps of the fourth game in the franchise. Rather, it has converted these levels into the classic style of play, where players have two minutes to accomplish various objectives all over the game’s levels.

It's not Vicarious Visions, but we'll gladly take these remakes of THPS 3 and 4 arriving in July.

Many gave up hope of another Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remake after Vicarious Visions, creators of the acclaimed THPS 1 + 2, was merged into Blizzard Entertainment. To the delight of many, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was announced for a July 11th release under the development of Iron Galaxy Studios back in March. There’s lots of interesting new additions to this hotly anticipated remake, so let’s get into what’s changed and stayed the same.

Includes All Original Skaters and most of the Original Levels

The only original levels missing from this remake are Carnival and Chicago from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4; the rest are included in HD splendor. As a fan of the original Chicago level, with its interesting bridges and tight streets, I do lament these absences, but there’s always room fro future DLC, right? The good news is every original skater returns in the remake, with a bunch of brand-new pro skaters joining the fray. It’s worth mentioning that the original games included various console exclusive and unlockable special skaters, which largely don’t make it into the new roster. Bye, bye, Neversoft Eyeball and Ollie the Bum, I’ll miss your HD glow-up.

New Levels

Iron Galaxy is softening the Carnival and Chicago blow a bit by giving us three brand new levels to enjoy. We’ve seen footage and screenshots of two of the new levels: namely Waterpark and Pinball. Waterpark features intricate water slides that are just perfect to slalom and do tricks off of. Additionally, the drained out pool at the bottom provides vert skaters plenty of room to chain combos together. Pinball, on the other hand, provides a neon-bathed eye-candy of an environment that makes you feel like you’re skating inside a classic pinball machine. The third Movie Studio park only has a screenshot with a crashed UFO on the side of a building, but we’re looking forward to some film references that could populate the new level as we try it for ourselves.

Classic 2-Minute Goal Format

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series has primarily been structured around 2-minute timer runs aimed at getting the best high score and accomplish a variety of challenges. The fun with this is familiarizing oneself with the levels through multiple runs, enough to eventually tackle every challenge in a single 2-minute session. This format changed with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and its far more open-ended approach to its freeroam Career mode.

No Returning Career or Freeroam for THPS 4

Sadly, THPS 4’s career mode isn’t returning for the remake, as THPS 3 + 4 aims to streamline and purify the formula to match the classics. So, like those before it, THPS 4 is structured around the classic 2-minute timer, shaking up the entire format of the original version quite a bit. For example, some NPC missions require much more than 2 minutes to accomplish, tasking the player with going from A to B across a larger map and doing multiple fetch quests in a single task. But Iron Galaxy has come up with a solution to the bigger levels and longer quests, even if it’s not the freeroam people necessarily want.

THPS 4 Timer Can Be Extended

While you’re still forced onto a timer in THPS 4, that timer can be extended between a range of 10 minutes to an hour, allowing the ability to leisurely freeroam and tackle longer challenges within that time frame.

THPS 4 Minigames

Another beloved aspect of THPS 4 was its endearing minigames. Well, those are also scrapped in Iron Galaxy’s remake. The fandom is somewhat divided concerning minigames in the series. On one hand, they offer gameplay variety and a sensation of unexpectedness, on the other, their inclusion tends to dilute the pure arcade emphasis of the original three titles. I fall in the former camp, as someone who enjoyed the sheer zaniness and creativity from THPS 4’s career mode. Whether it was playing tennis or driving a garbage truck around the college campus, these minigames helped the fourth entry stand out, so it’s something of a shame we don’t get that with this remake.

Additional Pro Goals

Something we do get, however, are an extra helping of stuff to do after we complete the initial 10 goals in each THPS 4 level. They’re adding something called ‘Pro Goals’, which are basically more difficult challenges that explore complex lines and aspects of a level not explored in the initial 10 goals. In THPS 4’s special case, they directly involve those lengthy exploratory missions that a 2-minute timer couldn’t complete.

Returning Tricks

Most of this info has focused on THPS 4 in particular, so let’s circle back and go over the tricks the remake is keeping and altering for the two games. Obviously, the combo-extending revert that THPS 3 initially introduced returns for both games here, in addition to standard trick variations like double kickflips and the like. The original THPS 4 was notable for introducing spine transfers to the series, something the THPS 1 + 2 injected into its remakes, which arrives for both THPS 3 and 4 as well. This means that THPS 3 parks can feel fresh thanks to the new usage of tricks from THPS 4 (notably the spine transfer).

Enhanced Skitching

So most of the basic trick toolset from THPS 1 + 2 carries over here unscathed, but what about new tricks? Well, THPS 4 famously introduces skitching, which consists of hanging onto the back of cars or, most notably, elephants in the case of an infamous zoo mission. As the creative director for THPS 3 + 4 highlights, skitching is getting expanded, now allowing skaters to combo into a skitch and not just end a combo on one. The best part of it is that these new skitch mechanics are added onto THPS 3, a game that never had such a feature to begin with.

Create-A-Skater Mode

Very little has been divulged regarding the Create-a-Skater mode, except that it will be featured for both THPS 3 and THPS 4. If it’s like THPS 1 + 2, your custom skaters will be able to partake in a Career mode with special goals not available to pro skaters. The creation tools were pretty limited in the last game, so here’s hoping we get some glasses and a height/weight slider this time.

Create-A-Park Mode

One of my favorite things to do in any THPS game is crafting the weirdest and most ridiculous park imaginable. I think it was Tony Hawk’s Underground where I went especially nuts with it, making a kind of floating rainbow road map that me and my friends would have fun racing through. Well, THPS 3 + 4 brings that mode back and adds 4’s wonderful create a goal and NPC quests into the toolset. We don’t know if the object limit is raised above what THPS 1 + 2 had but it’d be great to relive the days making crazy stuff from the Underground games.

Graphics and Performance

If you looked at this game in motion and thought it looked identical in graphical fidelity to THPS 1 +2, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. Both 1 + 2 and 3 + 4 are made in Unreal Engine 4, so the lighting and texturing look very similar. Still, it’s going to be awesome seeing our favorite parks from 3 and 4 lit up in 4K and running at 60 frames a second.

Multiplayer

We can expect the familiar multiplayer modes of the last game to return for 3 + 4. Games of HORSE and tag are available strictly for couch co-op but there’s no word if 3 + 4 finally adds these modes to the online suite. For online, we can expect Free Skate, Trick Attack, Graffiti, Combo Mambo, and Score Attack. But there’s two brand new modes that Iron Galaxy has promised called HAWK and Competitive modes. The cool thing is multiplayer is cross-platform and supports up to eight players. The bad? Well, console players need PS Plus/Xbox Live/Nintendo Online subscriptions to participate in online multiplayer (like most games).

New Game+

And once you finish the core THPS 3 + 4 experience, you can take a gander at New Game+, which keeps your skater’s amazing end-game stats into another Career full of challenges. As stated before, THPS 4 includes the Pro Goals, which are incorporated into New Game+ as well.

Release Date and Price

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 releases on July 11 for all modern platforms. Those platforms are PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC. The remake will cost $49.99 for the standard edition, $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition, and $129.99 for the Collector’s Edition which comes with an actual Birdhouse skateboard (trucks and wheels sold separately) so you can also attempt to do 1/100th of what these games allow out into real world skateparks.

Players will need to finish 10 objectives for a THPS 4 stage in order to unlock some of the more unique missions for those levels.

Developer Iron Galaxy has confirmed that not all of the content in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available to players right from the get go. Rather, according to VGC, the studio has revealed that some of the content will only be accessible once players have completed a set number of objectives for a level.

The content in question largely revolves around some of the more unique objectives from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, which Iron Galaxy has said could not be put into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4’s base missions because of the 2-minute time limit for every mission. These missions will instead be available as part of the remake’s Pro Goals system, which can only be accessed once a level’s 10 goals have been completed.

These goals were quite unique for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games, and were only really possible at the time because of THPS 4’s shift away from the franchise’s traditional (at the time) level-based format where players would have 2 minutes to complete objectives to a more open design. Since players had the freedom to roam around a level without any time restrictions in the game, they could freely pick up and try these missions, which could range from trying to do a specific trick at specific spots, to stranger objectives that focused more on exploration.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is slated for release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on July 11. Hyping up the launch, which at the time of publishing is just a month away, Activision released a launch trailer for the game over the weekend. The trailer showed off quite a few of the game’s levels, tricks, and playable skateboarders, as well as confirming that some of the customisation options will allow players to don the armour of the Doom Slayer from id Software’s DOOM series.

As for its roster of playable skateboarders, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will include a mix of legends of the sport as well as newer skateboarders. Alongside the eponymous Tony Hawk, the game will also feature Bam Margera as one of the members of its roster. Margera was confirmed through a trailer released back in May, where the skateboarding legend spoke about how much he used to love playing the Tony Hawk’s games.

“In most sports games are just hitting a ball back and forth, until the ball gets past you,” he said. “This game, you can grind the house, you can grind up that pole, you can go down a handrail. You can do endless amounts of things. And everybody, from grandpa to a young kid can love this game.”

“I’m going to have to let myself play video games again because this one will be well worth it. If I start missing flights again, I know where to put it.”

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will also feature Margielyn Didal as one of its playable characters, as confirmed by a trailer from back in March.

According to Tony Hawk, it's still too early to talk about Underground remastered since Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 isn't out yet.

While we have been seeing a bit of a resurgence in popularity for the classic skateboarding series Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with the upcoming release of 3 + 4, the skateboarder lending his name to the franchise has said that he would also like a remaster of Tony Hawk’s Underground happen at some point. In an interview with ScreenRant, Tony Hawk spoke about how he was trying his best to get the story-based skateboarding game remastered.

“I always have aspirations,” Hawk said. “It’s not up to me generally. I’ll campaign all I can, but I’m working with a much bigger company that’s a lot smarter than me.” It is worth noting, however, that Hawk also said that discussions about remastering Tony Hawk’s Underground haven’t actually happened at Activision yet. The company is likely waiting to see the commercial response to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 before it makes any decisions about bringing back later games in the franchise.

When later asked about whether discussions had begun yet, Hawk also noted that it was too early right now, since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 hadn’t been released yet. “Yeah, we haven’t even released this game,” he said.

Tony Hawk’s Underground was the follow-up to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Released all the way back in 2003, the game was originally released on PS2, GameCube and Xbox back in the day. There was also a version made for the Game Boy Advance. Rather than staying with the franchise’s more arcade-styled loop, Tony Hawk’s Underground instead focused on telling a story with the player’s own custom-created skateboarder.

Throughout the story in Tony Hawk’s Underground, players would get to meet and skate with a variety of skateboarding legends as they travelled all over the world to take part in skateboarding competitions. Borrowing some aspects from THPS 4, Underground also featured a more open approach to its objectives, with the player needing to complete a variety of missions from NPCs in the zone they were in before they could continue with the next chapter of the story.

As for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Activision recently confirmed that Bam Margera would be part of the game’s roster as one of its Secret Skaters. The announcement was made with a trailer, where Margera spoke about first playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 and getting so enthralled with it that he ended up missing several flights.

A rumour from back in March indicated that Margera was added to the roster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on the insistence of Tony Hawk himself. According to The Live Club podcast co-host Roger Bagley, Hawk insisted to Activision that Margera be included in the roster, which reportedly ended up with Margera having to fly to the studio to get body-scanned for the game.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is slated for release on July 11, and will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

Bam Margera spoke about how much fun he had with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 back in the day, causing him to miss several flights.

Activision and Iron Galaxy have released a new video for the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, this time around revealing that skateboarding legend Bam Margera will be a part of the game’s roster. The description for the video also states that Margera will be one of the Secret Skaters in the game, which means that players will likely have to work at unlocking him as a member of their roster. Check out the video below.

In the video, Margera spoke about having a lot of fun with older games in the Tony Hawk’s franchise. Recounting a story about playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, Margera revealed that the game was so addictive for him that he ended up missing several flights. “Finally, after missing six flights, I’m like ‘I gotta put this thing away,’ because this game is just too much fun,” he recounts.

While Margera wasn’t a confirmed member of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 roster before this video’s release, a rumour from back in March indicated that his inclusion in the roster was a demand by Tony Hawk himself. The Live Club podcast co-host Roger Bagley spoke about Hawk insisting to Activision that they add Margera to the game.

“Well, here’s what happened,” said Bagley. “The game was already done. Tony called up Activision and was like ‘hey, we’re putting Bam in the thing’, and they were like ‘hey, we can’t’. He goes ‘no, you’re gonna do it’, and basically made them fly Bam back out there to get body-scanned and everything else, and get him back in the game.”

The question of whether Margera would be a part of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 came about likely due to the skateboarder’s history with substance abuse. Things had gotten bad enough for Margera at the time that he was fired from Jackass Forever, and director Jeff Tremaine went as far as getting a restraining order against him.

An earlier behind the scenes video released for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 revealed that Magielyn Didal will be one of playable skateboarders in the upcoming game. In the video, Didal spoke about her biggest influences in the skateboarding world. The video also gave us our first look at two of the stages from the game: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3’s Suburbia and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4’s Kona.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, and will be out on July 11.

The update fixes the dynamic blood drip that is supposed to show up when players shoot an enemy's body part or use melee weapons.

Naughty Dog, Sony and Iron Galaxy have released a new update for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. The update, numbered at version 1.3.10430.0406, brings with it a host of bug fixes surrounding various aspects of the game. According to the update’s announcement, fixes in the update were based on player feedback.

One of the bigger things added in the update was the dynamic blood drip effect which previously didn’t work right when players shot enemy body parts or used a melee attack. The update also enables the use of Adaptive Triggers on the DualSense controller when it is being used through Steam Input. General responsiveness and functionality of the DualSense controller through Steam Input has also been improved.

There are also a host of minor bug fixes in the update, such as a small visual bug in the Steam UI that showed players in the Steam Friends List as being in the game’s Main Menu when they were playing the No Return mode. A visual bug regarding lighting in dark underwater being pixelated in some sections has also been resolved. For more details about the update, check out the full patch notes below.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered was released on PC earlier this month. The game features all of the goodies that were brought with the Remastered release on PS5, including the No Return game mode, as well as a host of PC-exclusive features like support for ultrawide displays. For more details about the PC release, check out our review.

With excellent performance and impressive fidelity, Naughty Dog's remaster remains a visually rich experience, warts and all.

Say what you will about the controversy surrounding The Last of Us Part 2’s story, which feels as fresh today as it did in 2020, there’s no denying that it remains an absolute stunner of a video game. The extent to which Naughty Dog utilized the PlayStation 4 hardware to deliver such impressive fidelity, be it in the character models and effects or the animations and environmental details, remains as baffling as it does miraculous.

Though it received a free update for the PS5 that included 30 FPS and 60 FPS options, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is a proper paid upgrade over the PS5 version. While it’s not a massive graphical overhaul, it does offer new modes, including the rogue-like No Return and Lost Levels, three levels cut from the game alongside extensive developer commentary. You can also engage in Guitar Free Play or try to complete the story as quickly as possible in Speedrun Mode.

Over a year later, the remaster finally comes to PC on April 3rd, as Naughty Dog teams up with Nixxes and Iron Galaxy. Is it a massive improvement over the PS5 version? Is it the definitive way to play the classic? Of course, after The Last of Us Part 1’s disastrous launch on PC and the mixed bag that some first-party PS5 ports (like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2) have been, some skepticism is understandable. Let’s dive in and find out.

What’s New With the PC Version?

Considering that The Last of Us Part 2, both the original and remastered, doesn’t offer ray tracing, it’s no surprise that it isn’t on the table with this PC port. What it offers is Ultrawide monitor support, whether you’re rocking a 21:9, 32:9 or 48:9 resolution display, not to mention triple-monitor set-ups. Upscalers like Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution, AMD FSR 3.1, Intel XeSS and AMD FSR 4, alongside Frame Generation and DirectStorage, are also supported. You can also enable Vsync and output much higher frame rates than the PS5. But how heavy will all this be on your system?

PC Requirements and Test Rig Configuration

Regarding PC requirements, Naughty Dog, Nixxes and Iron Galaxy offer a decent range of scalability. While you only need an Intel Core i3-8100 or an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X on the Minimum end, a GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 5500XT is required along with 16 GB of RAM, which is enough for 720p/30 FPS at Low settings. On the recommended side for 1080p/60 FPS on Medium settings, you’ll need a Core i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3600, an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 5700, and 16 GB RAM.

Playing at 1440p/60 FPS on High settings requires a Core i7-9700K or a Ryzen 7 3700X, an RTX 3070 or a Radeon RX 6800, and 16 GB of RAM. If you’re aiming for the highest quality standard, namely 4K/60 FPS at Very High settings, you’ll need a Core i7-11700 or a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU, an RTX 4080 or RX 7900XT and 32 GB RAM. And while it’s roughly 79 GB on PS5, a whopping 150 GB of installation space is required for the PC port (SSD mandatory). Our rig has an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 32 GB of RAM.

Graphical Options and Our Settings

On top of upscalers, DirectStorage support, and whatnot, the big appeal of the PC port is adjustable graphics options. You can adjust the Level of Detail, Reflection Quality, Texture Quality and Filtering, Shadow Quality, Depth of Field Quality, Refraction Quality, Particle Density, and much more.

For our settings, we went with DLSS set to Quality at 3840×2160 resolution, 60 Hz as the refresh rate and frame rate capped at 360. DLAA and Vsync are enabled while pretty much every option is set to Very High, though no changes were made to the Field of View, and dynamic resolution scaling is off.

PC Performance

If the performance of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC made you skeptical of future first-party ports, rest assured. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s frame rate runs at a solid 60 frames per second throughout with very minimal drops. It’s impressive given the sheer amount of detail and effects at 4K, whether you’re admiring the lights in town or venturing through snow-covered fields, escaping from a horde of infected. Facial and character animations also look as nuanced and natural as ever, with stunning image clarity bringing all the little details – like freckles, snowflakes, and whatnot – to the forefront.

However, there are some drawbacks. In an early scene with Abby and Owen, the latter’s hair glitches out in places. It happens again later on and though it’s not super-prevalent, the times it does occur are impossible to miss. There are also ghosting issues, which are subtle in the mansion scene, again with Owen’s hair, but they’re much more noticeable when Ellie sprints through the snow on horseback. At first, it seemed restricted to cutscenes, but you may even notice it during gameplay while moving at a measured pace. There aren’t any major glitches or performance troubles otherwise.

PC vs PS5 (Fidelity and Performance)

On the PS5, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered offers Performance and Fidelity modes. The former runs at 1440p/60 frames per second, while the latter offers native 4K and 30 frames per second. Those with a 120 Hz output can mess around with the PS5’s VRR settings to achieve higher unlocked frame rates, but we stuck to the default.

Both modes offer stable frame rates on the console, but Fidelity mode packs better image clarity, especially in distant details and aspects like foliage. The trade-off is the frame rate, of course. With the PC version, you get the best of both worlds. Sections like riding through the fields as Joel and gazing upon Jackson from a distance while the sun shines really highlight how well the visuals have held up through the years, even if some ghosting is visible at times.

Conclusion

When you look back at the series’ debut on PC with The Last of Us Part 1, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is on a completely different level. Yes, the ghosting can get distracting, and there is the odd visual glitch with Owen’s hair, but it’s backed by excellent performance, gorgeous visuals all around and no major bugs (at least none we observed in our hands-on time).

As always, your mileage can vary depending on the hardware and settings, but seeing this level of fidelity with most settings on Very High and at 4K with a mostly locked 60 FPS on an RTX 3080 Ti is pretty impressive. If you’re a PC player waiting to continue the story since Part 1 dropped, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered comes highly recommended.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will feature a roster that includes a mix of classic legends of the sport along with up and coming newcomers

Leading up to the upcoming release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, publisher Activision and developer Iron Galaxy have begun highlighting some of the young, new skateboarders that will be available to play as in the game’s roster. The first one we get to look at courtesy of a new behind-the-scenes video is Margielyn Didal. Check it out below.

Margielyn Didal is a skateboarder from the Philippines, specifically from the city of Cebu. Throughout the video, we get to look at Didal in action in real-life, as well as in the game. She talks about her biggest influences in the world of skateboarding, as well as how she is looking forward to being play as herself in the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.

Interestingly, through this video, we also get our first glimpse at the Kona and Suburbia stages of the game. While not comprehensive deep dives into the stages, we do get to see that that not much has changed since the two stages made their debut back in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 (for Suburbia) and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 (Kona).

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was officially announced earlier this month. The game is being developed for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch, and will be hitting store shelves on July 11. As its name might imply, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will consist of remakes of the classic third and fourth mainline games in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise.

It is worth noting that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will not be recreating the free-roam campaign of THPS 4. Rather, it will be converting that campaign into a level-based affair where players will have to finish a set of objectives within a time limit. This puts the remake’s take on the THPS 4 campaign in line with the campaign for 3, as well as the campaigns for 1 and 2 that we saw in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

The title will also feature a large roster of skateboarders to choose from, including legends like the eponymous Tony Hawk, to newer skateboarders that have hit the scene in more recent times like Margielyn Didal.

Recent rumours have indicated that Bam Margera might be also be part of the roster. The decision is reported to have been made at the last minute at the behest of Hawk. According to The Live Club podcast co-host Roger Bagley, Hawk told Activision to include Margera in the game’s roster.

“Well, here’s what happened,” said Bagley in a recent episode of the podcast.
