After releasing first on Xbox One and PC in March, Bioware’s first DLC pack for Dragon Age: Inquisition is now available on PS3, PS4 and PC for $15. The DLC adds a new ancient Tevinter fortress to explore along with some new items (including new Legendary weapons and armour), Avvar hunters and a story centered around the last Inquisitor and the dragon he fought.

Jaws of Hakkon first release on Xbox One and PC due to an exclusivity arrangement between Microsoft and Electronic Arts, which owns Bioware. Details of the agreement weren’t shared but it was later revealed that the DLC would be out on other platforms.

As it stands, Bioware has already released a free multiplayer add-on for Dragon Age: Inquisition with Dragonslayer. This added a new map to explore, three new characters and massive dragons for players to fight. Future single-player content is still up in the air but Bioware still seems keen to develop more so stay tuned.

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s first DLC, Jaws of Hakkon, finally has an official release date for PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360. Bioware announced on Twitter that the DLC will be releasing on May 26th for these platforms. Originally, the DLC first launched in March for PC and Xbox One due to a time exclusivity contract EA had with Microsoft. Thankfully, it was announced shortly after that the DLC would be coming for other platforms in May.

Jaws of Hakkon presents a new story and missions for fans as you seek to learn the fate of the previous Inquisitor and the dragon he hunted. You’ll discover new areas like an ancient fortress of the Tevinters, face off against the Avvar in the southern mountains. New legendary equipment like armour and weapons have also been included in the DLC, which is priced at £11.99.

Bioware has confirmed on Twitter that the first DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition, namely “Jaws of Hakkon”, will release on previous gen platforms and PS4 in May.

“CONFIRMED: Dragon Age: Inquisition–Jaws of Hakkon comes to all other platforms in May!”

This comes off the news that the developer couldn’t reveal the release date for the DLC on platforms other than the Xbox One and PC.

Jaws of Hakkon recently released for the above two platforms alone and it was implied that an exclusivity agreement of sorts was in place between EA and Microsoft. Fortunately, it was for a fixed time period though the gap between the release dates is much longer than, say, Call of Duty.

If you’re a fan of Dragon Age: Inquisition on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS4, then we’ve got some bad news. Bioware recently released the first story DLC for the game, “Jaws of Hakkon” for the Xbox One and PS4. Timed exclusive DLC deals are nothing new but executive producer Mike Darrah has revealedd on Twitter that the developer can’t talk about when Jaws of Hakkon will release for other platforms.

“We can not discuss when Jaws of Hakkon will be coming on other platforms,” stated Darrah.

However, Darrah followed this up by tweeting that, “It will come. Hopefully you can be patient.”

The developer can’t discuss the terms of the exclusivity agreement between EA and Microsoft though this wouldn’t be the first time the Xbox One has received exclusive content and games first (as seen with Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and FIFA 15’s Ultimate Team mode). Dragon Age: Inquisition will be receiving its first single-player DLC pack with Jaws of Hakkon. The best part? The DLC launches today, arriving first for the Xbox One and PC (PS4 players will need to wait till later and a previous gen release hasn’t been confirmed).

Though there was some initial confusion stemming from the announcement tweet, Bioware’s Aaryn Flynn confirmed to Kotaku that the DLC is indeed arriving today.

Dragon Age: Inquisition released in November 2014 for current and previous gen consoles, and netted several awards including the Game of the Year award at D.I.C.E. It’s been a financial success for publisher EA as well and while a sequel is still a ways off, the future seems pretty bright for the franchise.
