Hello Games heavily affected by UK floods.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-182395" src="https://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/43.-No-Mans-Sky.jpg" alt="43.
Bad news for No Man’s Sky and Joe Danger developer Hello Games, as the studio has been affected by flooding. The indie dev posted on Twitter, stating that, “Water moves really quick. Hello Games has been totally flooded. Everything in the office has pretty much been lost 🙁

“A lifesize cardboard cut out of Joe Danger went floating past face down. Poor Joe. He’s taking this the worst. Massive thanks to everyone who tried to help here today. We have learned that laptops float sometimes.

“Leaving now and letting firemen to help real people (all the houses around us with kids and xmas) – rather than us drowning to save a hdd :)”

The obvious question is how badly this will affect the development of No Man’s Sky, which is to release for next gen consoles in 2014. As of now, we’ll wait and see but our hearts go out to Hello Games and those affected by the flooding.

The port will be handled by indie dev Four Door Lemon.

Remember that collaboration announced between Hello Games and indie dev Four Door Lemon? We’re now seeing the fruits of it, as the former has announced that the port of Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie for the PlayStation Vita will release in Q2 2014 and be developed by the latter. will make the jump to Vita in the first half of next year, courtesy of a collaboration between creator Hello Games and fellow indie Four Door Lemon.

While the port was already revealed back in August, this is the first time a release window of any kind has been provided. Considering the immense success of Joe Danger, both critically and commercially, it speaks volumes about Hello Games entrusting Four Door Lemon with their key franchise.

Four Door Lemon is perhaps best known for developing Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD for the PlayStation 3, though it has had a number of smaller releases. Hello Games is currently busy with next-gen open world sci-fi title No Man’s Sky.

Set to release on June 24th.

Joe Danger is coming to the PC, packing in both Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie into one awesome value for money package. A new trailer for the game showcases even more interesting content coming to the PC, including characters from Valve’s Team Fortress 2 and levels from Mojang’s Minecraft.

Interestingly, the Joe Danger series is inspired by Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog in terms of racing and avoiding obstacles. Both games focus on a platforming/racing approach, with Joe performing stunts and avoiding obstacles while interacting with different items. For example, in Joe Danger 2, you’ll use a jetpack, snowmobile, motocross bike, police motorcycle and much much more over the progress of different levels. You can also switch between planes on the 2D axis.

Joe Danger is set to release for the PC on June 24th 2013. It is already available for PS3, Xbox 360 and iOS/Android, with Joe Danger 2: The Movie available on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Hello Games has announced that they will be releasing Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie on Steam for PC later this year.

The original Joe Danger came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010 and then two years later Joe Danger 2: The Movie was released in 2012.

Here is the official statement from the press release regarding the PC version of the well-established popular franchise.

“Actually, PC is Joe Danger’s spiritual home,” Murray added. “I coded my first ever PC engine when we started making the original Joe Danger back in 2009, because we couldn’t get hold of console devkits. So it’s incredibly exciting to be finally able to release it.”

The PC version of Joe Danger will include extra content and hardware advantages.

Steam Workshop will be integrated to share custom-made levels. The game will also support full Steam Big Picture mode, extra graphical options, Ghost recording, new levels and more.

The press release also included some beautiful high-resolution PC screenshots:

Joe Danger the once PSN exclusive has gone multiplatform and is available on the Xbox 360 now. It also has a lot of additional content and the developer, jokingly called the PSN users “playtesters”. Are people upset by this? You bet.

The developer, Sean Murray revealed a lot of info to Eurogamer and said he understands why PS3 fans are upset.

“It’s been so nice to come back to, now we’ve watched hundreds of thousands of people play through on PS3. They’ve been our playtesters for the changes we’ve made to Special Edition.”

“It’s always weird when what you perceive is an exclusive title goes to another platform.

“It’s part of the culture. I used to be a Sony fanboy myself – not cut me in half and I bleed Sony or anything like that, but just, I quite like the XMB, and telling people, I quite like Blu-rays. That was me.

“But I remember being a kid and f***ing hell, trying talking to me as a kid about anything Sega was doing – no Nintendo! I was probably like that until I was sixteen. And then I played some Sega games and I was like, oh, Crazy Taxi’s quite good, isn’t it? Through gritted teeth.”

“So I do understand. Grant, our artist, he’s got this pad from when he was a kid, because he was a Sega fanboy, and he’s got drawings he sent into magazines and they were like, this is Sonic feeding Mario into a meat grinder. He used to send them in, and they were totally grotesque. They’d never print them. He didn’t know why at the time. This is Mario getting split in half by Sonic with a chainsaw.”

Ouch. Those are a lot of quotes. But do you agree with what Sean Murray has to say? Tell us in the comments section below.

There was a rumour that Joe Danger would be heading to XBL, this is now a reality as the game is announced officially for Xbox Live. This was announced by Hello Games today. It’s not the same version as the PSN one though as it features a lot of extras.

It contains some new environments and gameplay modes and they are targeting at a 2011 release.

“We’re really excited about coming to XBLA,” Hello Games’ Sean Murray said. “For a start my brother is finally going to be able to play Joe Danger. Well, knowing him he’ll probably just download the Trial.

“It’s going to be coming out real soon though, like surprisingly soon. We haven’t rushed it or anything, it’s just that we’ve been keeping it super secret.”

They have also announced the sequel to Joe Danger, which is called Joe Danger: The Movie and it will be available on both PSN and Xbox Live.

Announced at the official PlayStation blog, Joe Danger is an upcoming, side scrolling, fun looking game. Going along the likes of Little Big Planet and Mod Nation Racers, Joe Danger is all about motor bike racing. Sean Murray, Managing Director of Hello Games said:

“Joe Danger is the star of our game. He’s a down and out daredevil, this hapless little dude who’s known as, “The World’s Most Determined Stuntman.” You need to take Joe on the ride of his life and go from zero to hero, across over 50 eye-poppingly gorgeous and eye-wateringly dangerous levels. It’s what we like to call a “Stunt-‘Em-Up,” and your job is to combo, boost and pull ludicrous tricks to fill stadiums and put Joe back on the podium.

You’ll help Joe to wheelie his way into the record books, as you smash through hardcore stunts and take on some of our ridiculously addictive mini-games like Coin-Dash, Bowling-Bounce, Crazy-Puzzle and Target-Grab. To regain the title “Master of Disaster” though, you’ll need prove you’re the best, race against your rivals, out-thrill your friends and defy death to defeat the dastardly Team Nasty.”

We have also got the first footage of the game and it surely does look sweet.
