Ubisoft files trademark

Anyone remember Sony’s infamous 2005 E3 press conference. Other than “Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaaaaaaaaacer”, “Giant enemy crab” and “$599”, there were a few announcements that stood out.

One of them was a Ubisoft first person shooter, Killing Day, which featured some notable visuals (for its time) and boasted of fully destructible environments.

However, it faded into oblivion after its announcement, until Ubisoft finally announced a little time later that the game had been officially canned.

Well, looks like that project might be back on. Ubisoft has registered a trademark for “game software and electronic game programs”, the title “Killing Day” which is yet to be approved.

Considering that the game was cancelled long ago, this seems a bit irregular. It obviously means that Ubisoft has plans for this game, else they would not have bothered filing a trademark for the game.

What do you guys think? Tell us in the comments section below.
