Sadly, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, a rhythm-based game that takes place after the third game’s events, isn’t part of the deal. Nevertheless, those who have waited to get their hands on the series through Steam for many years have plenty of reason to be happy. The question is whether they’ll receive discounts at launch.

As for the series’ future, Kingdom Hearts 4 is currently in development on Unreal Engine 5. Rumored to launch in 2025, it sees Sora in the world of Quadratum, though he’ll eventually reunite with Donald and Goofy. No platforms have been announced, so stay tuned for future updates.

PS4 subscribers gain access to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. There’s also Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and What Remains of Edith Finch. Rounding out the line-up of PS4 titles is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain and Onee Chanbara Origin.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers also gain access to five classic Ratchet and Clank titles on PS3. These are Ratchet and Clank, Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet and Clank: Deadlocked, and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Kingdom Hearts 3 not coming to the Switch natively is sort of understandable (to some extent release), but many are disappointed that even Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue – both of which could easily run on the hardware – are also getting cloud-exclusive releases. As it turns out that, there might still be a chance of the series seeing native Switch versions down the road.

Speaking in an interview with Nintendo Life, when asked about why Square Enix decided to go for cloud releases only, series producer Ichiro Hazama said: “Bringing these titles to Nintendo Switch proved to be quite difficult for various reasons, including the storage capacity of the hardware, but we’re excited that we were able to make it happen for the first time ever by utilizing the Cloud service.”

When asked if native versions could launch down the line, Hazama said Square Enix was still “undecided” on that, but suggested that that could change based on feedback from players. “At this moment in time, the production of a native version is undecided,” he said. “We believe that the Cloud version is currently the best way to deliver the Kingdom Hearts series to Nintendo Switch players, but we are always excited to hear to feedback from our fans and want to thank them for all their support.”

There’s no word yet on when exactly Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 will launch for the Switch. Sora, however, will be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tomorrow, on October 18.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 are all coming to the Nintendo Switch- though there is a catch. They will only be available as cloud releases. That is a little disappointing, especially since pretty much all of those games (perhaps with the exception of Kingdom Hearts 3) are quite old and can easily run natively on the Switch hardware. Either way, Switch players have been waiting for Kingdom Hearts on the platform for quite a long time, so at least it’s here now.

No release date has been announced for the trio of titles, but Nintendo says more information will be revealed soon, so hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer for those details.

Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts series has finally come to PC courtesy of the Epic Games Store. The catalogue includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts 3 and the ReMind DLC, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. Each title can be purchased at a 20 percent discount till April 6th.

Those who purchase Kingdom Hearts 3 with the ReMind DLC will also receive a code for a three month subscription to Disney+. Codes will be mailed from today onwards, though the offer is valid only for eligible countries. Also, those who pre-purchased any of the titles on PC before the launch discount are entitled to a partial refund.

Kingdom Hearts has had quite the journey since the original game launched in 2002. The Dark Seeker Saga came to an end with Kingdom Hearts 3 while the ReMind DLC expanding on the ending and overall end-game content. Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory continued the story further while serving as a musical look back on the series. Stay tuned for more details on future entries in the meantime.

At this point, most big third party franchises have jumped to the PC in some form or another. While some big Japanese franchises were much slower to do so, eventually they trickled in. There has been one big exception there, however, in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Now, though, that is changing.

It was announced earlier today that the entire Kingdom Hearts series will be coming to PC. That includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Prologue, Kingdom Hearts 3 with its ReMind DLC and finally, the last entry in the series, Melody of Memory. That’s a total of 11 games detailing the whole messy storyline of the franchise thus far. Interestingly, the games will be coming as exclusives to the Epic Games Store. It’s not clear how long the exclusivity window will last.

The Kingdom Hearts titles outlines above will release on PC via the Epic Games Store on March 30th. We know that more Kingdom Hearts games are in development, but whether they will be on PC day 1 or not in light of this news is anyone’s guess.

Microsoft has announced its slate of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass subscribers in June. Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky has already been confirmed and will also support cross-platform play. We also know that The Bard’s Tale ARPG: Remastered and Resnarkled will be available on June 18th for consoles and PC.

Tomorrow though, the entire back-catalog of Kingdom Hearts will be available for Xbox One players. These are packaged into Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 ReMix along with Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. If you’ve ever wanted the complete Kingdom Hearts experience on the console after finishing Kingdom Hearts 3, this is the way to go.

PC players can look forward to Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2, Battletech and Dungeon of the Endless (also coming to Xbox One) tomorrow. CD Projekt RED’s Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, a role-playing game focused on GWENT, will join the service on June 18th. Overall, it’s a pretty solid line-up for both console and PC players to enjoy.

The Kingdom Hearts franchise is one that’s been a winding one with a story that completely looped around on itself several times (or at least it seems like it, anyway). The series has hopped onto lots of platforms through its lifetime, and now it’s time for the whole thing to make its way to Xbox One, as the HD remasters that collect the saga was confirmed to come to the system early last year. Now, we may have an idea of when.

A listing for the last collection, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, appeared for Xbox One via the Microsoft Store (though that listing is no longer live, as you can see here). It gave a release date just 10 days from now.

There are three collections that package every game in the series in some form or another. 2.8 has Dream Drop Distance HD, an original piece of content called 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage – and a movie version of Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement, but odds are all three collections will release either at the same time or close to one another.

At X019, Square Enix was on hand to announce that numerous Final Fantasy titles would be coming to Xbox Game Pass. This includes Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8 Remastered, Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy 10 and 10-2, Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy 13/13-2/Lightning Returns and Final Fantasy 15. But wait, there’s more.

For the first time ever, Kingdom Hearts will be coming to Xbox One, with Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue coming to the platform. Even more amazing is that there will be a demo for Kingdom Hearts 3 available today.

The above Final Fantasy games will arrive on Game Pass, along with the Kingdom Hearts titles on Xbox One, some time in 2020. Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently available for Xbox One and PS4 and will receive some new DLC in December with ReMind. This adds new story content, new bosses and additional scenarios to play as other characters. Stay tuned for more details and updates from X019 in the meantime.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is due out in just a few months. It’s one of the most anticipated upcoming games, currently, and I’m sure the zeitgeist surrounding it will cause many newcomers to want to check in on the franchise for the first time with this release.

That’s a terrible idea, given the state of the franchise’s story, and the heavy emphasis on continuity. Recognizing this, Square Enix has released the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD, 2.5 HD, and 2.8 collections for the PS4 that have gathered all the games into two releases. Now, however, they’re going one step further.

Today, Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far was announced by Square Enix, a $40 release that combines 1.5 HD, 2.5 HD, and 2.8 into one consolidated release. That means this package contains Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearys Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (with HD Remastered cinematics), Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (also with HD Remastered cinematics), Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep- A Fragmentary Passage, and Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (the movie).
