Bioware’s Star Wars: The Old Republic, an action MMO spun-off from the popular Knights of the Old Republic series, will be receiving a new major expansion in the form of Knights of the Fallen Empire. A new trailer for the game titled “Alliance” has been released (which you can check out below) but more importantly, Early Access is now open to subscribers. There is a catch obviously – you have to be an active subscriber from July to early October.

In Knights of the Fallen Empire, you take up the role of the Outlander and face Emperor Valkorion’s Eternal Empire on the outer edge of the galaxy. Much like previous Bioware titles, you’ll need to build an alliance to help you take on Valkorion and recruit powerful companions to your cause. Ultimately, it will be up to you how you face your fate.

Knights of the Fallen Empire sees you taking on the role of the Outlander and fighting against the forces of Evil. There will be new places to explore and new enemies to fight as you decide whether to succumb to the Dark Side or stay true to the Force as a Jedi.

Those who become a subscriber during Gamescom for Star Wars: The Old Republic will receive a special gunslinger character who will watch your back. Appealing enough? Bioware revealed a new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic with Knights of the Fallen Empire. This will be the largest story expansion for the game yet and will feature new companions, new worlds and much more. Like other Bioware-based games, you can decide whether to help or betray your allies.

The trailer is quite interesting as it shows two brothers, who strangely resemble Starkiller, on opposing sides of the Force. We don’t know what to expect but damn if that CG trailer – courtesy of Blur – doesn’t look good. Knights of the Fallen Empire will be free for all subscribers when it launches this October.
