2K's LEGO-licensed football game could be officially announced soon, after artwork was spotted on the PlayStation Store.

LEGO 2K Drive, which launched earlier this year, was the first release in what’s been reported as a multi-year partnership between 2K and LEGO, and the next game from that partnership might be right around the corner. Previous reports have claimed that a LEGO football game is also in the works, which has been prematurely revealed as LEGO 2K Goooal! in multiple age ratings in recent months, and now it seems an announcement for the title might be right around the corner.

As spotted by social media platform X user @MauroNL3, LEGO 2K Goooal! was recently spotted on the PlayStation Store under the codename “Build Up”. Interestingly, the database listing for the title was also accompanied by official artwork for the game, showing imagery similar to leaks from last year. Potentially, an official announcement for the title could be coming soon- perhaps at The Game Awards on December 7?

It’s been claimed in previous reports that LEGO 2K Goooal! is being developed by British studio Sumo Digital. Stay tuned for more updates on the title in the coming days and weeks, hopefully in the form of an formal announcement.

LEGO 2K Gooal! – allegedly being developed by Sumo Digital – was also rated in South Korea earlier this year.

Earlier this year, 2K kicked off its new partnership with LEGO with the launch of LEGO 2K Drive, but as previous reports have revealed, the open world racer is set to be just the first of many AAA sports titles to be published by 2K with the LEGO license.

Leaks have previously claimed that a LEGO football game is also in the works and allegedly being developed by Sumo Digital. Earlier this year, that was prematurely confirmed when LEGO 2K Goooal! was rated in South Korea.

Now, the football title has received another classification rating. As reported by Gematsu, LEGO 2K Goooal! has now also been rated by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, with PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC mentioned as the platforms that it’ll be coming to.

Presumably, that would indicate that an official announcement for the title is not far away. If 2K intends to release the game in line with the football season, similar to what EA does with the <del>FIFA</del> EA Sports FC games, one would expect the game to be out within the next couple of months or so. Stay tuned for more updates until then.

Leaks have previously claimed that Sumo Digital is working on a LEGO-themed football game, which is set to be published by 2K.

Back in February last year, it was claimed in leaks that 2K had signed into a multi-year, multi-game agreement with LEGO that would see it developing sports games based on the LEGO license. Several games were said to be in development at the time, of which one – LEGO 2K Drive – is not only officially known about, but also launched earlier this year. And now, it seems another one of those leaked titles ight also be around the corner.

The second game in question, according to leaks at the time, was a LEGO-themed football game being developed by British developer Sumo Digital. Now, as spotted by Gematsu, a game called LEGO 2K Goooal! has been rated by the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) in South Korea, indicating that a reveal – and perhaps even a release – might not be too far away.

Late last year, images of a new LEGO minifigure also emerged online, showing a character wearing an FC Barcelona kit and a purple shark head mask, likely tied to Sumo Digital’s football title. When or where the game may be officially announced remains to be seen.
