Sony has officially announced the three titles coming next week: Godfall for the PS5, and Mortal Shell and Lego DC Super-Villains for PS4. A couple of things to make note of here. Mortal Shell is only the PS4 version of the game, it does not include the recently released Enhanced Edition that came to next gen consoles.

Godfall is also not the full game, but instead a version being dubbed the Challenger Edition. This edition seems to cut out the main game and focuses on Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and the Ascended Tower of Trials, three other modes that are endgame level content. It’s a strange move, but it’s said you’ll have “a spread of deadly weapons and skill points,” presumably to make up for not being able to go through the campaign. Lego DC Super-Villains, meanwhile, looks to be a pretty straightforward version of the PS4 release, so there is that at least. You can read more details at the PlayStation blog through here.

All three games will be available to redeem for PS Plus members starting December 7th.

You may not be able to call him by his real name anymore, but Shazam has been brought to the forefront of pop culture more than ever, thanks to the DC film currently in theaters. Warner Bros has now also released two new DLC packs for the latest Lego title, Lego DC Super-Villains, based on the film.

Shazam! Move Level Pack 1 and 2 give you access to play as Billy Batson and his superhero alter ego, Shazam, as he battles against his arch nemesis, Dr. Sivana, and four new unlockable characters based around the seven deadly sins in Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, and Envy. You’ll also get versions of all of Shazam’s soon-to-be-superhero bothers and sisters with Pedro, Eugene, Darla, and Mary, alongside the Wizard Shazam who is the source of their powers. This will add to the game’s base roster of characters, which is already staggeringly huge with over 150 characters from various DC Comics properties.

Lego DC Super-Villains is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The Shazam! Move Level Packs are both also now available as part of the game’s season pass, or as individual purchases.

The latest UK retail sales charts from Gfk Chart-Track are in, and Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is still on top. This marks the third week since its debut in first place. Even as sales are down 53 percent week-on-week, Red Dead Redemption 2 sales still account for more than 30 percent of the market, as per Games Industry.

Other titles are pretty much as you’d expect. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is still in second place, beating out FIFA 19 by a few hundred units. Forza Horizon 4, meanwhile, is still ahead of Spider-Man to claim fourth place. However, Insomniac’s open world action title saw its week-on-week sales remain the same, while the titles above it all witnessed declines.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is in sixth place, followed by Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, LEGO Harry Potter Collection, and LEGO DC Super-Villains. With this week seeing the release of Hitman 2 and Fallout 76, we could see a significant shake-up in the charts. Will they best Rockstar’s open world epic? Check back next week to find out.

The UK charts for the week ending October 27th are in and Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is on top. Though it launched on October 26th, with just a day on the market, it managed to top the charts. It also managed over double the sales of its predecessor, Red Dead Redemption, which released in 2010. This only includes physical retail sales- the PS4 version accounted for 68 percent of total units sold.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the game managed to sell slightly more than Call of Duty: WW2 in its first week. It’s currently behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare as the fastest selling non-FIFA title this generation. If all of this wasn’t enough though, it also helped the UK retail market’s revenue which saw a 2.8 percent increase year-to-date. The market did see a 3.4 percent drop year-to-date in units sold though.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 fell to second place in the charts, followed by FIFA 19 in third. Forza Horizon 4 moved up slightly to fourth place, while Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Spider-Man slipped to fifth and sixth respectively. LEGO DC Super-Villains, Super Mario Party, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy round out the top ten.

Despite making headlines for launch week physical sales being down by 59 percent in the UK, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was still the number 1 selling game in its second week on sale in the region, according to Gfk Chart-Track. In fact, as GamesIndustry.biz notes, overall sales dropped by just 39 percent in the second week, which is a good sign.

FIFA 19 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey retained their spots in second and third place respectively. Spider-Man on the PS4 actually saw a bump up from sixth to fourth place. Forza Horizon 4 remained at fifth place. Two new entries this week for the top 10 include LEGO DC Super-Villains at sixth place and Soulcalibur 6 at eighth place.

Super Mario Party was in seventh, while Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Shadow of the Tomb Raider rounded out the chart at ninth and tenth respectively. Starlink: Battle for Atlas also debuted, but at 14th place. It appears that Nintendo’s Star Fox cameo made a strong impact though – a whopping 82 percent of launch sales were for the Switch version.

As the title clearly implies, DC Super-Villains turns the series on its head and has players take the side of DC’s roster of super villains. While the popular Justice League does make an appearance at the start of the game, they quickly disappear and are replaced by a group of look-alikes from Earth-3 calling themselves the Justice Syndicate. It’s up to the villains to find out what really happened to the Justice League and what this shady new group of heroes are actually up to, as the villains can’t really conquer the world with them in the way. It’s an interesting and fun story that turns the villains into the pseudo heroes without really stripping away what makes them villains in the first place.

Iconic villains such as The Joker, Lex Luthor, and Catwoman are expectedly present as well as many other notable bad guys including Harley Quinn, Metallo, The Riddler, Clayface, Scarecrow, and more. Even lesser known villains such as Cheetah, Granny Goodness, Mercy Graves, and Solomon Grundy are playable. With a playable cast of over 160, DC Super-Villains definitely doesn’t hold back in the character department. Each playable villain is equipped with their own unique quirks, abilities, and weapons that players can use to get through the game’s myriad of stages and puzzles.

DC Super-Villains features quite an all-star cast of voice actors. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and Tara Strong reprise their iconic roles as Batman, The Joker, and Harley Quinn respectively from the Batman: The Animated Series, respectively. Michael Ironside from Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited fame returns to his role as Darkseid. Other notable stars in the cast include Roger Craig Smith (Assassin’s Creed), John Barrowman (Arrow), and Brandon Routh (Superman/Legends of Tomorrow). The phenomenal performance of the voice cast just gives the game another layer of authenticity and fan service that players can enjoy.

Even with villains as its main cast though, DC Super-Villains doesn’t really become dark at any point and remains “kid-friendly” all throughout. The stories and motivations of many of the villains featured in the game have been toned down and a lot of what would be expected to be mature content has been replaced by comedy and silliness. While there is some mischief and a bit of chaos, it’s all presented in the lightheartedness that’s expected of a LEGO game. The game is able to package its villains and the game’s story in a way that doesn’t feel too deep or complex yet is still able to sell the idea of playing with villains as the stars instead of the usual heroes.

Character creation is back in a big way in DC Super-Villains. In a first for the series, your player created character is now at the core of the game’s story and is no longer limited to Free Play mode. There’s a lot of ways players can customize their character, from changing many parts of their appearance to their weapons and super powers. Players can even customize the way some super power effects look, such as changing the color of your lightning bolts and choosing whether you fire them from your hands, eyes, chest, or even your weapons, and even more customization options, abilities, and weapons open up as players progress in the game.

Players will still be able to switch to any of the game’s myriad of characters by either pressing a button or holding said button down to open the selection screen and switch to any of the characters you currently have at your disposal. The character selection screen now allows you to filter characters by special ability so switching through characters is a lot easier in this installment. While the game lets you play as any character of your choosing without hindrance for the most part, certain puzzles in the game can be solved only by specific characters.

Although, much like previous entries in the series, the puzzles in DC Super-Villains aren’t all that difficult to figure out or accomplish. While some are quite creative and require a bit of thinking, most of them are pretty straightforward in their design and easy enough to solve. The game also gives a lot of hints to help solve the puzzles, which keeps them accessible to the game’s younger players. Character-specific puzzles are also now marked by their portraits, which saves you the time of figuring out who among the game’s dozens of characters you need to use to find a solution.

Combat in DC Super-Villains is simple and straightforward as always, without much complexity or depth in it, something that’s expected with a game that’s primarily targeted towards a younger audience. The characters are still limited to three attacks – a basic melee attack, a special attack, and a ranged attack, although each character’s set of abilities are fairly unique to them. The enemy AI has seen a few improvements but ultimately doesn’t pose much of a challenge, with many of the game’s combat sequences being easily clearable just by mashing the attack button.

The game’s open world allows players to explore and take on missions that lead them to several locations in the DC universe including Gotham City, Metropolis, Smallville, and more. Even several iconic places such as the Hall of Doom, S.T.A.R. Labs, the Daily Planet, Arkham Asylum, and more are available for exploration. The maps and levels aren’t particularly huge and feel more like districts than entire cities but there’s still a lot to experience in the game’s many locations including several puzzles and side missions. The game does punish you somewhat whenever you get into any mischief in the game’s maps by sending the police after you but they don’t really pose much of a problem.

LEGO DC Super-Villains doesn’t stray too far from the formula that made the previous games in the franchise so popular but adds enough to make it one of the best in the series. Making the player-created character the center of the story is a big deviation from the series’ norm but the developers have made it work well-enough in this installment that we might see more of it in the future. The quality-of-life improvements, such as the new character selector filter and the portraits for the character-specific puzzles, also make the game much more accessible and removes some of the inconveniences the previous titles posed. LEGO DC Super-Villains is definitely a fun and entertaining experience for both long-time fans of the series and even those new to the series may find it enjoyable in spite of its simpler mechanics.

Here we go, with another LEGO game on our hands. This one, as the name gives away, focuses on the supervillains from the DC Universe. As is always the case, the gameplay is basic platforming, collectathon, and action, which makes it easier for younger audiences to jump into the game, but there are some fantastic long time references to DC comics hidden away in the game as well.

There is also content that can be hard to find, and sometimes your can just find yourself stuck in the game without knowing where to go next. LEGO DC Super-Villains has, as is usually the case with these LEGO games, a whole lot of collectibles for you to track down and, well, collect. The chief of these are the Red Bricks, which have long been the bane (pun unintended) of those who play these games. In this guide, we help you track down all of them—then, we also share some cheats for you to be able to unlock some cool stuff in the game.

So let’s get started.

RED BRICKS LOCATIONS

There are 20 Red Bricks in the game, one in each of the levels, and then one in each of the Bonus levels. You can take the elevator to go up STAR Labs in Metropolids to keep track of which ones you have. As always, the ones you collect can also be used to unlock abilities for yourself. Below, you can see where the Red Bricks in each of the levels are:

1. The Red Brick can be found on the Clock Tower, in the hands of a gold statue
2. This one is just swimming about in a fish-tank. Said fish-tank will be on the second level of the building.
3. Rapidly hit all five targets in the lab
4. Go to the roof above the party, and destroy the statue there
5. When battling Hugo Strange, you will see a Golden Grate. Destroy that to go down into a secret area, where you can find the Brick for this level
6. Grow the plants that bounce light, and use them to light up the center dome
7. Go through the waste barges to find this one, but be careful! They’re called “hazardous” for a reason…
8. There’s a Red Brick on display. You gotta mirror jump to it. Good luck!
9. Make a sea beast happy by singing a happy song
10. Enter the three digit code into the safe to get the Brick here (use Detective Vision to know what the code is)
11. Use mind control on the Party Parademon
12. You see all those Amazonian Bells? You know what you have to do
13. Find the GRAFFITI wall in the Hall of Justice, then tag it so it gets destroyed. Assemble the Treadmill, run on it as Flash to collect the 10 pieces in the Speed Force, and then assemble those to make a container that is holding a Red Brick. Whew.
14. Fly down from the Wayne Manor Offices to find two portals. Activate both to find the cabinet holding the Brick
15. Hidden at the top of Darksied’s throne

Bonus Levels:

1. There’s a bat switch under the giant gear and chain. Activate it.
2. When battling Stompa, er, grow a flower. Look, do you want that Brick or?
3. Graffiti the wall near the starting area of the level
4. It’s in Kanto’s Trophy Room. Good luck!

CHEAT CODES

These codes unlock characters that you may ordinarily unlock simply by playing the game. So, the best way to get them is by actually earning them in the game.
