Gold bricks can be used to upgrade vehicles. Gold Bricks can be earned quickly by completing vehicle challenges in the Adventure Worlds.

Red Bricks:

Red Bricks can be unlocked by catching a droid that is carrying the red brick within a time limit. Once you do that, the red brick must be purchased with studs.
