16 titles will retail for $19.99 on PS4 from November 2nd onwards.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is garnering positive reviews. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is revitalizing interest in the franchise. Even Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is pretty good. Heck, even among the exclusives for PlayStation 4, Spider-Man has been raking it in, and has a new DLC pack, The Heist, available now.

However, if you’re interested in playing some of the older titles on PS4 at a discount, then there’s good news- Sony will be adding 16 games to the PlayStation Hits line-up on November 2nd. That means older titles which have been successful enough will retail for $19.99, just in time for the Holiday season. The full list of games for November includes:

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

Until Dawn

Batman: Arkham Knight

Need for Speed Rivals

UFC 2

Need for Speed

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition

Dying Light: The Following

Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair

Mortal Kombat X

Injustice

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends

Battlefield Hardline

Dragon Age: Inquisition

So if you’re interested in the PlayStation Hits version of the above, look for their special red packaging. Other titles that have been added to the line-up (for the United States) include Bloodborne, DriveClub, LittleBigPlanet 3, The Last of Us: Remastered, Uncharted 4 and much more. At $20, picking up titles like Mortal Kombat X, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Dragon Age Inquisition is a steal, if we’ve ever seen one.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes released a while back, bringing Marvel’s Avengers (and associated properties) to Lego’s unique brand of fun; one surprising omission from the platform list for that game was iOS, which sees a lot of casual games and players, and where that game might have prospered.

Well, that mistake is being rectified now, as Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril has been announced for iOS platforms. The game, which is available now, sees players follow an original story across forty five missions (meaning even those of you who’ve gotten and played the original Lego Marvel might find the iOS game worth a look). The game also features over ninety playable characters, and all the trademark quips, one liners, and finishing moves that fans might remember from the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

Regrettably, the game also supports in app purchases to unlock more super powers, though I guess I will hold off on final judgement of this until I know how well (or not) the game is balanced around these.

Check out the trailer above and make sure to tell us what you think.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is enjoying some decent success in the sales charts, especially if the recent UKIE game charts are anything to go by. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a new DLC Character Pack for the game to give it more of a Dark World flavour. That’s right – Kurse, Sif, Volstagg, Odin, Hogun, Fandral and Jane Foster are now available characters for £1.59. Check out the electrifying reveal trailer above to see how they translated into LEGO lang.

For those who want a lot more variety in their character roster, there’s also the Super Pack which adds Dark Phoenix, Winter Soldier, Symbiote Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Falcon, Beta Ray Bill, Thanos and A-Bomb. You can also take part in ten new races via the Spider-Mobile and or Sky Cycle. Yes, the Spider-Mobile. The Super Pack can be yours for just £3.99.

What are your thoughts on LEGO Marvel Super Heroes? Let us know below.

The latest UKIE Game Charts courtesy of Gfk Chart-Track are in and once again, Call of Duty: Ghosts is on top in the UK across all formats. It’s followed by EA Sports’ FIFA 14 with both titles being buoyed by the release of next gen consoles in the past few weeks within the country.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes saw a surprising entry at number 3, which is fairly good considering all the other big-name titles that are out. It’s followed by Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to round out the top 5.

Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 6 slipped from eighth to tenth place. It was revealed on its debut that it is suffering weaker sales than its predecessor at launch. As for the next gen games, Killzone: Shadow Fall is at 11th place, Forza Motorsport 5 is at 15th place and Dead Rising 3 is at 18th place. So at the very least, they made the top 20.

LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes and Injustice have been officially priced.

Despite news that the PlayStation 4 will have an Indian launch announcement some time this month and that some titles would cost around Rs. 3,999 it seems that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment titles have been officially priced by e-Xpress Interactive. These include LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes and Injustice, both which will cost Rs. 2499 for the PS4.

While LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes will feature your favourite Marvel super-heroes in LEGO form, Injustice will be an updated version of the fighter which released earlier this year and features, well, your favourite DC super-heroes fighting each other. This edition will feature updated visuals and previously launched DLC.

As of now, the PlayStation 4 has no set launch date in India, and it’s expected that it will arrive some time in early 2014. Will titles like Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack be made available on launch? We’ll need to wait and find out later.

Arguably the best game in the series.

I kind of wonder who LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is aimed at. Kids will love it but I can’t help but think perhaps the key audience will be the fully-grown adults who have pored over the Marvel comic books for decades. For them, they’ll be like kids in the proverbial candy store – able to control hundreds(!) of their favourite characters and roam a massive LEGO playground.

Warner Bros and developer TT Games have become masters at transforming huge franchises into LEGO versions, and this is way up there among the best of them. From Indiana Jones and Batman, to Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, they’ve never failed to capture the charm, comedy and characterisation of each. With Marvel Super Heroes, they’ve certainly “built” on the success of their previous games; both LEGO and Marvel fans can’t fail to be overjoyed by the end result.

"There’s a veritable feast of Marvel characters on offer from Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America and the mammoth Hulk – each armed with their respective webs, lasers, claws, shield and attitude."

There’s a veritable feast of Marvel characters on offer from Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America and the mammoth Hulk – each armed with their respective webs, lasers, claws, shield and attitude. There’s even the occasional appearance from the face of Marvel, Mr Stan Lee!

Firm favourites are Hulk and Mr Fantastic, the former able to slam, smash and swipe his way through oncoming enemies, use his extreme bulk to shove obstacles out of the way or mutate to the rather less green Dr Bruce Banner for puzzle solving. Mr Fantastic, meanwhile, is at his bendy best and able to transform into various objects, stretch to reach far off levers or slim down to fit through grates or glide across chasms. Every single character is completely unique and brings their own skills and personality to the proceedings.

Through the campaign, you’ll meet equally-awesome villains too. Venom is residing among the many levels, along with Doctor Octopus, Loki, Sandman, Green Goblin and Galactus.

"As ever, a second player can leap into the proceedings at any given time. The puzzles are occasionally tricky in the game and there may be a few occasions where plenty of headscratching will ensue."

If you’ve played any of the previous LEGO titles, you’ll know what to expect. This is a game that’s all about the puzzles, the building of contraptions and collecting hundreds of multi-coloured studs. Each level allows you to switch control between various characters, using their specialist skills to proceed to the next area. Along the way, there are bad guys to defeat and countless items to smash, which spill ridiculous volumes of colourful LEGO bricks and coins about the place.

As ever, a second player can leap into the proceedings at any given time. The puzzles are occasionally tricky in the game and there may be a few occasions where plenty of headscratching will ensue. Once you grasp the basic concepts though, it soon becomes second nature; it’s never tough enough to prove frustrating.

The game’s locations are many and varied, taking you through iconic Marvel settings like the Daily Bugle, Stark Tower, Asgard and Sanctum Sanctorum. It looks and plays really well, especially when you bring a friend along for the ride and work together. It’s instantly clear who each character is meant to be, with their individual personalities and abilities perfectly replicated in this world of LEGO blocks.

"Unlike the early LEGO games when the characters were mute, the voice acting in Marvel Super Heroes is pulled off perfectly, and there’s a healthy helping of humour thrown in for good measure too."

The graphics are nicely detailed and retain the usual charm. There’s a real sense of depth to the levels, which are all brightly coloured and full of areas to explore and objects to smash. The HUD is minimal, with the characters’ details nestling in the top corner of the screen, along with health bar and the number of nuggets collected. Spend too long procrastinating over a puzzle and a tip pops up at the bottom of the screen, suggesting what you should be looking for or which character is best suited to the task.

Unlike the early LEGO games when the characters were mute, the voice acting in Marvel Super Heroes is pulled off perfectly, and there’s a healthy helping of humour thrown in for good measure too.

As ever, the signposting can be a little unclear, and some may find it tough to find the right route or identify blocks that need to be smashed and rebuilt as part of a puzzle, for example.

But despite this minor flaw, this is a fantastic game that will last you ages – particularly given the Free Play mode, allowing access to that stage with any of the characters you’ve unlocked. Attaining that elusive 100% completion status is certainly an achievement for only the most dedicated of gamers. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is highly recommended and arguably the best in the series yet!

Lego Marvel Super Heroes had originally been slated for launch as part of the Xbox One’s launch catalogue, releasing on November 22nd. However, publishers, Warner Brother have announced that delays in development have pushed the game’s release back by one week. The pressure that has been placed on these next gen consoles and their affiliated titles have forced similar trends across numerous game developers.

The North American version it seems will still release with the Xbox One launch.

“The game ships for Xbox One on November 22 in North America and is scheduled to be on store shelves in European territories beginning November 29,” Warner said to IGN.

Everything you need to know about LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes is an upcoming action adventure video game that is currently in development under TT Games, who have previously worked on the Lego Harry Potter and Lego Star Wars games.

The game will be published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and is currently set to launch on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Microsoft Windows. Much like previous entries into the Lego series, the game is primarily aimed at a younger audience but will still cater to older players.

5. Super Powers

Development

Lego Marvel Super Heroes is being developed by the greatly revered games developer TT Games. TT Games has a long running track of record breaking success with the Lego series of games. In keeping with the Lego games tradition, Lego Marvel Super Heroes shares a lot of similarities with its predecessors. This means a return to the formula that made the series popular. Players will play the game in a traditional 3rd person, mostly fixed camera perspective. Progressing through the various stages and levels in the game will be accomplished by using the skills and abilities of the Marvel Universes’ many unique and varied Super Heroes.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes will challenge the player (or players) through the use of puzzles, some will require you to locate and restore certain Lego blocks to their respective place of origin and can even make use of a basic physics engine, using weights to raise platforms on a fulcrum lever to raise another player or NPC (non-player character) to a previously unexplored region of the games environment.

TT Games is the only publisher to focus on designing video games for the younger audience and their family. Because of this, the Lego series of games make use child friendly slapstick humour, applying this to Lego Marvel Super Heroes will result in the Hulk smashing enemies into small piles of Lego and similar child friendly moments.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Lego Marvel Super Heroes closely resembles that of previous Lego games. It perhaps shares gameplay elements that most closely resemble those found in Lego Star Wars, any player that can use powers like Magnetism, or Telekinesis will share a striking resemblance to the Jedi and Sith from the Lego Star Wars titles.

The player will have access to a massive roster of playable characters, ranging from the quick and nimble Spiderman to the lithe and muscle bound Wolverine. As per usual, the players ‘mini figure’ will be able to draw upon various super powers and talents in order to move forward in the game.

The Hulk can smash enemies to pieces and throw heavy pieces of debris as well as shrink down to his normal self. Players will control Bruce Banner and use his scientific skills to use various computers strewn about the game. Iron Man can zip about the game world on his repulsor boosters and fire energy blasts from his hand repulsors, this is basically a one way push of magnetic force that negates the 3rd law of motion, essentially acting like a Lego Beam weapon found in the Lego Star Wars games.

Spiderman can swing on webs and make use of his Spider Sense, but whether or not this is to find items in the environment or as a combat aid is unclear at the moment.

The game is going to be primarily set in a “Lego-ized” version of New York City, although other locations such as Asgard will be making an appearance according to the games director Arthur Parsons and the producer Phil Ring. The buildings in New York City can be explored and will serve as a hub for the player to access various missions and quests. All of this will be narrated by one of Marvels most popular characters, The Merc With A Mouth, Deadpool, the fan favourite anti-hero.

Story

The central plot of Lego Marvel Super Heroes revolves around the arrival of the Silver Surfer. The Silver Surfer is separated from his board and falls to the earth. This causes his Surfboard to shatter into several pieces called the “Cosmic Bricks”, they too plummet to Earth. Fantastic Four nemesis Doctor Doom manages to get his hands on these “Cosmic Bricks” and alongside his newly formed Super Villain cadre he begins construction on the “Doom Ray of Doom.”

Not long after however the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D) Director, Nick Fury puts out a call for help to the Super Heroes and its Allies to help retrieve the Cosmic Bricks before other villainous forces, such as Loki of Asgard or Magneto get their hands on them and commit unspeakable crimes against humanity.

The super powers in Lego Marvel Super Heroes have not been addressed as a direct issue, but what players can expect ranges from the super human strength of the Hulk, to the futuristic powers brought forth from the Iron Man suit by Tony Stark and the unflinching Patriotic combat prowess of Captain America, the Magnetic forces wielded by Magneto and the electric forces guided by Doctor Doom. With such a diverse roster of heroes, players are guaranteed a deep pool of powers to draw from.
