TT Games’ LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been ruling the UK game charts with an iron fist. It’s currently the number one selling game across all platforms in the UK for the fifth week now according to Gfk Chart-Track, which also noted that this was the same amount of time that LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes spent in the charts.

Meanwhile, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Grand Theft Auto 5 moved up to second place and third place respectively. FIFA 16 is in fourth place followed by Overwatch in fifth. DOOM, Rocket League, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Minecraft: Xbox Edition and Ratchet & Clank (which managed to rise from 33rd place to 10th) round out the remainder of the chart.

The relatively static nature of the top ten is to be expected – there haven’t been a ton of major releases lately. That could change when No Man’s Sky launches next week for PS4 and PC so stay tuned.

For the third week in a row, TT Games’ LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the number one selling game in the UK across all platforms according to Gfk Chart-Track.

Interestingly, Overwatch fell from its spot last week to fourth place this week while Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End moved up to second. Monster Hunter Generations debuted in second place for the Nintendo 3DS and given the popularity of the franchise, it’s pretty expected.

Grand Theft Auto 5 simply refuses to leave the charts at this point almost three years later and it’s in fifth place. DOOM is in sixth followed by FIFA 16, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Rocket League. Fallout 4 is a rather interesting surprise at 10th place especially since it moved up from 20th place.

What are your thoughts on the previous week’s best sellers especially since there aren’t any major titles till August? Let us know in the comments below.

TT Games’ LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens remains on top of the UK game charts according to Gfk Chart-Track. It holds this position for the second week in a row, displacing Overwatch in the process.

Overwatch’s managed to move up from third to second place with DOOM moving down by one place. FIFA 16 is in fourth place with Rocket League taking its position at fifth. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is in sixth place followed by the ever-persistent Grand Theft Auto 5.

Meanwhile, Ratchet & Clank moved back into the top ten, going from 11th to eight place. Tom Clancy’s The Division is in ninth place while Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 moved up from 12th to 10th place.

Expect many of these releases to stay in their positions given that there aren’t a number of big games coming out in July. What are your thoughts on this week’s top selling UK games? Let us know in the comments.

TT Games' latest LEGO game is it fourth biggest launch yet.

Never underestimate the power of Star Wars. According to Gfk Chart-Track, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the latest in TT Games’ LEGO series, has debuted in first place for game sales in the UK. This makes it the fourth biggest launch in the LEGO franchise (LEGO Indian Jones, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO Batman have it beat).

FIFA 16 is at second place followed by Overwatch in third and DOOM in fourth place. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is in fifth place while Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness makes its debut at sixth place. Rocket League and Grand Theft Auto 5 are in seventh and eighth place respectively.

Survival horror game 7 Days to Die debuted on July 1st in Europe for consoles courtesy of Telltale Games and managed to enter ninth place. Meanwhile, Tom Clancy’s The Division stays in tenth with the recent Underground DLC not appearing to have much impact on its sales.

The Force is strong with this one.

It’s interesting that after all these years of LEGO games seeing their ever evolving state constantly trying to figure out just what makes a game fun. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is no exception. This is possibly one of the best LEGO games available and is by far superior to anything (save LEGO Dimensions) that the developers TT Fusion and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have put forth. As we all know (or should know by now), LEGO games are often a foil or spoof on other familiar franchises; in this case it would be the Star Wars: The Force Awaken film that debuted in movies theaters last December. These spoofs over the course of time since the first [modern] LEGO title have become funnier, better timed, and never too much to handle.

The Force Awakens is funny. It’s extremely family-friendly. It’s easy to pick up and put down at a moment’s notice. Those are three very important points when getting into this game so you can imagine right off the bat what type of person this game is intended for. Though the film was rated PG-13 which means it’s intended for teenagers or older, The Force Awakens is definitely for any and all who’d like to partake in this colorful adventure. Its eye opening colors from beginning to end blow up the screen’s brightness as these shiny little connectable blocks don’t just copy a modern film, but politely put their own inner workings of humor and a fun time to good use. You won’t see any bloodshed here. Just a cute and charming way of making the newest Star Wars film as a playable tribute.

"Within the games eight to 10 hours of play time, the pacing for the game was superb. There didn’t seem to be any drawn out moments, or gags that went on far too long."

The Force Awakens uses dialog from the movie during their respective scenes. In a game where the simplest light saber battle quickly turns into a game of witlessness (quite literally, I might add), these nearly always serious dialogues are sometimes out of place as they can often be too much for a lighthearted setting. Either way, it fills the player in on what exactly is going down in a fulfilling way rather than old LEGO games that had to use way too many actions to give a somewhat abstract approach to storytelling.

Within the game’s 8 to 10 hours of play time, the pacing for the game was superb. There didn’t seem to be any drawn out moments, or gags that went on far too long. Going from one location to another was a delight as each location supported a main story theme and a great amount of action, unique puzzle solving, and co-op interactivity to get through each section. Speaking of co-op interactivity, this time around all characters seem to have a real purpose in the game that can keep them busy a lot of the time. Playing alone or with a friend will be nothing less than an action packed session where everyone is busy doing something, even if you are switching between characters by yourself.

Besides the fun single player/co-op worlds, there is actually a surprising amount of new ideas stuffed into this tiny, little package. On-rails shooting segments within a space ship, and even dogfights where you are free to fly about have been added for space scenes. And seeing LEGO pieces fly off into space after fragmenting an enemy vessel was just fun.

"Furthermore, these worlds often take a substantial amount of loading times in a game that isn’t too often loading in other main story."

Continuing on with additional stuffing (if you will), many different worlds have been added within the galaxy as well. These worlds are often free to explore and find spoils and loot to collect to 100 percent the game. Other stories follow out into these far reaching worlds, but nothing that is too concerning for the main game itself. Furthermore, these worlds often take a substantial amount of loading time. I’m not sure if this will be fixed later on down the line, but as of right now the load times for those worlds is not good enough.

One of the most fun aspects about being a Star Wars enthusiast, like myself, is the engrossing music that runs along each scene; intricately utilized in some of the most impressive ways in modern film history. With The Force Awakens, there are plenty of moments where the music plays just the right keys that allows for that moment of awesomeness. You can actually sit back, spoof aside, and realize that this is not only a Star Wars game, but an enticingly good one.

When all the pieces are put in place, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is actually a game you probably would be happy with adding to your collection of family friendly, non-violent games. It’s quick to play through, has fun story, hilarious antics and good natured cuteness which makes this a great game for anyone to get their hands on.

A complete guide for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The newest LEGO game is now out- recreating the newest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, in all of LEGO’s blocky glory, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens promises players the same brand of family friendly fun that has made these games so enduringly popular to begin with.

For games that are ultimately aimed at younger kids, LEGO titles have a surprising amount of depth and content to them. We’ve already shown you how to make your way through the game’s story mode with our video walkthrough here- but the story content is less than half the tale told. There is so much to do and so much to discover in this game- and that’s where this guide comes in. From cheats, tips, tricks, unlocking characters, and character customization, as well as Achievements and Trophies, this guide has it all.

CHEAT CODES AND UNLOCKING CHARACTERS

Like with all LEGO games, The Force Awakens comes with a staggering amount of characters that players can play through the game as. Some of these are hardcore fan service, that only the most invested Star Wars fans will recognize. Others are the more popular ones, that everyone will probably want to play through the game as. These videos below will show you how to unlock all the characters in the game- sometimes, this entails the use of cheat codes, too.

CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION

Once you do have the characters you want to play as unlocked, you’ll probably want to customize them to your liking. And hey, since this is a LEGO game, you can mix and match! The video below will guide you through the process.

INFINITE STUDS AND MONEY

Studs are the currency in LEGO games, and they are used for basically everything. So having more of them is always a good thing- and thankfully, there seems to be a rather fun way to grind out a near infinite amount of them in game.

To do this, you must have unlocked the Millennium Falcon in Chapter 3, as well as the on board holochess table. Replaying this minigame endlessly will yield a lot of studs at the end of each play session.

COLLECTIBLES

There are two main types of Collectibles in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens- Red Bricks and Mini Kits:

Red Bricks are special power ups granting you buffs, status conditions, and bonuses. You must first find them in the game, and then purchase them to activate them

Mini Kits come in sets of 10 and can be found on each level in the game. Once a full set has been gathered, it creates a weapon that you can then use on any level or map in the game.

Infinite Torpedo

One of the Red Bricks basically gives you infinite torpedoes. Here’s where you find it:

A complete video walkthrough for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The newest LEGO game is now out, and it lets players explore the world of the newest Star Wars movie in all of LEGO’s chunky, blocky glory. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens promises to be a compelling experience for families, as well as for anyone who is a fan of either Star Wars or the LEGO games.

But you know, for games aimed primarily at kids, the LEGO games can be brutal in their complexity, and in the sheer wealth of options that they present a player with. That’s where we come in- there’s no shame if you find yourself stuck in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and if you do, we’re here to help you with this video walkthrough.

Just remember, the walkthrough will almost certainly have spoilers, so if you would rather go into the game blind, without having any of it spoiled for you, you should probably stay away from it.

June isn't the busiest month for releases but there's still plenty to look forward to.

June may not be the biggest month in terms of gaming for releases – which is understandable since the biggest gaming expo of the year E3 will be taking place. That being said, the month isn’t completely barren when it comes to releases. Whether you’re in the mood for a first person free run or simply want to solve a few mysteries, June can keep you busy if you’ll let it. Here are some of the big name games to look forward to and why.

Mirrors Edge Catalyst

Faith returns in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the much anticipated sequel to the original game. That being said, this is no ordinary sequel – Catalyst will be a reboot and origins story for Faith, presenting a whole new tale of oppression and intrigue in a futuristic authoritarian city. A lot has changed from the original Mirror’s Edge, including the addition of a skill tree and a huge open world to explore. Players will have the chance to create races that can stretch through the city or take part in the expansive story (which isn’t nearly as forgettable as the first game). Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is out on June 7th for North America and June 9th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Mighty No. 9

The long-in development, often-delayed spiritual successor to Mega Man will finally be upon us. Mighty No. 9 has seen its fair share of issues and controversies, ranging from failed additional Kickstarters to controversies with its community manager. That’s not even getting into the awful launch trailer that recently released and was apparently publisher Deep Silver’s fault. That being said, we’re still interested in what Mighty No. 9 has to offer with its combo-based gameplay, level design and call-backs to the Mega Man franchise. It’ll be available on just about every home platform on June 21st and June 24th

Umbrella Corps

What do you get when you cross a competitive multiplayer shooter with the zombies of Resident Evil? A horrifying monster, for one, but actually it’s Umbrella Corps. This shooter focuses on teaming up with friends as part of various mercenary groups sent in by bio-weapons corporations. Though primarily third person shooter-based, Umbrella Corps allows for aiming down sights in first person and melee combat. Numerous modes and levels, some which call back to previous games like Resident Evil: Code Veronica, also exist to be explored. Zombies are also a key factor, disrupting your operations when you’re not being gunned down by enemy groups. It’s out on June 21st in North America and Europe for PC and PS4.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

You knew it was coming. The Lego Star Wars franchise has been a proverbial juggernaut in its own right and the saga continues with Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Interestingly, Traveler’s Tales is working on incorporating a number of new features into the series such as cover shooting; Multi-Build, which gives you more freedom for building and expanding on paths to explore; and much more. Classic characters like Rey, Poe Dameron, Finn, Kylo Ren and Han Solo are featured and the game will actually include content taking place between the period of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Will we finally experience the battle of Jakku firsthand? One can only hope. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out on June 28th in North America and Europe.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness

The Star Ocean franchise returns with the game’s first PS4 outing (though it’s also out on PS3 in Japan) Integrity and Faithlessness, which comes to North America on June 28th. The RPG will be unlike any of its predecessors with a seven member party and seamless transitions from the cut scenes to gameplay. We’ll find out just how good it is when it actually releases next month.

The Technomancer

Spiders has been rather hit-or-miss with its action RPGs (mostly miss with efforts like Mars: War Logs and Bound by Flame). The Technomancer will nonetheless continue this string of efforts, taking place in the same setting as Mars War Logs. With three styles of combat, four skill trees, crafting, varying choices for completing quests and a choice of numerous companions, The Technomancer will also be the developer’s first current gen exclusive, releasing on PC, Xbox One and PS4. It’s out on June 28th worldwide.

We Happy Few

Imagine a dystopia Wellington Wells during an alternate World War 2 era. Something has happened to the city in order for it to win the war but it’s citizens resorted to the drug Joy in order to forget it all. What happens when you play as someone who hasn’t taken the drug and is subsequently hunted by those around them? We Happy Few balances survival horror with a sandbox element, challenging you to escape Wellington Wells without arousing the suspicion of those around you. It’s been in development since February 2015 and despite no solid release date, we know it will be coming in June to PC and Xbox One to inflict some Unreal Engine 4-powered trauma upon us all.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter

Frogwares’ Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter won’t be its last Sherlock Holmes title but it may be a while till we see the famous detective again. With five linked cases, a “deduction board” to piece together various clues and multiple conclusions, The Devil’s Daughter will continue the series’ penchant for compelling mysteries and consequences. It’s out on June 10th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

When LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally launches on June 28, it will recreate not only the entire story of last year’s biggest hit in glorious, blocky LEGO form, but also include six brand new adventures that have so far not been covered in any Star Wars media, providing more of a story for Star Wars fans to consume.

These six new adventures were shown off as part of the new trailer for the game that was released today in honor of May the Fourth- Star Wars day. These adventures are:

Rathtar Hunting – Follows Han Solo and Chewbacca’s voyage to capture the ravenous Rathtars.

Lor San Tekka’s Return – Uncovers secrets behind Lor San Tekka’s journey to the Jakku Village.

Poe to the Rescue – Details Poe Dameron’s daring rescue mission to save Admiral Ackbar.

Crimson Corsair – Explores how the notorious Outer Rim pirate, the Crimson Corsair, foiled the plans of the First Order.

Trouble Over Taul – Follows the events leading up C-3PO’s acquisition of his new red arm.

Ottegan Assault – Reveals a puzzle piece to how the Resistance and the First Order find Lor San Tekka on Jakku.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will launch on PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
