Microsoft has announced several new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass for consoles in April, starting with The Long Dark releasing tomorrow. The survival title sees the player fighting against the elements in a wintery environment. It’s well worth playing for those seeking a moody story and/or brutal survival sandbox.

Other titles coming this month include Gato Roboto on April 21st, which is a Metroid-vania title starring a cat in a mech. Deliver Us The Moon arrives on April 23rd and sees players exploring an abandoned colony on the Moon for answers. April 30th brings Hyperdot and Levelhead, the latter being a platformer/level maker from the development team behind Crashlands.

Several titles will also be leaving the service this month so play them now while you can. These titles are:

The Banner Saga 2

Bomber Crew

Braid

Fallout 4

Full Metal Furies

Metal Slug 3

Ruiner

Silence: The Whispered World 2

Smoke and Sacrifice

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Stay tuned for more details on Xbox Game Pass titles, especially those coming to PC subscribers. The service normally costs $9.99 on PC and Xbox One. However, new subscribers can try out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – which includes Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass for PC and console – at just $1.

Cruise through campaign levels or make your own and share them with other players.

Developer Butterscotch Shenanigans has been busy since releasing Crashlands, its survival/crafting title set on an alien world. Its next title, Levelhead, is a 2D platformer, but also sports a competent level editor. For those willing to take the plunge, it’s out now on Steam Early Access for PC.

The campaign is fairly unorthodox, as the player works with the Bureau of Shipping to deliver packages through hazard-filled levels. Luckily, certain power-ups become available that let you fly and whatnot. The campaign can be experienced solo or with up to four players. The level editor is arguably the star of the show, and it allows players to work together, creating haphazard deathtraps to play through.

Current plans are to release the full game within six months to a year. Over time, players can expect more options for level-building and more campaign levels. Algorithms will also be tweaked to allow players to discover cool user-created levels – the current system allows for subscribing to creators and browsing via tags.

Currently $20 on Steam, we’ll see if Levelhead is announced for other platforms in the coming months.

Up to four players can collaborate to build levels or take on the crazy campaign.

Butterscotch Shenanigans took us a bit by surprise with Crashlands, its action adventure RPG full of crafting and fun humour. It’s been hard at work since then on its next project – a co-op “level-building platformer” called Levelhead. It’s out on Steam Early Access in April. Check out the announcement trailer below.

As you’ve probably noticed in the trailer, Levelhead comes with a full-fledged workshop for building levels. You get 100 “creative elements” spread across three biomes. Up to four players can work together and build levels, and subsequently tag and share them. Leaderboards will also be available to showcase the best times in all levels.

Otherwise, there’s also a campaign, which sees you working for the Bureau of Shipping and making deliveries. These deliveries are in strange levels full of danger but luckily you can pick up special abilities like flying and phasing. The campaign will also support co-op for up to four players. Levelhead is expected to fully launch in 6-12 months and will feature more levels, creative elements, and a complete campaign by then.
