Not every game made the transition to 3D as smoothly as Mario or Zelda. Here are 15 games that made the worst transition from 2D to 3D.

When games began to make the transition to 3D every series under the sun tried to hop on the bandwagon. But not everyone was as successful as others. Here are the 14 games that made the worst transition from 2D to 3D.

Street Fighter EX

Street Fighter may be the best example of a series that should solely exist in the second dimension. The intricate combos, precise spacing, and move inputs were all meant for opponents who were face-to-face. Street Fighter EX tried to improve the gameplay by putting combatants in a 3D arena where they could strafe around their foe. The result was a game that spat in the face of everything that Street Fighter stood for. Some series should just stay in the second dimension for their own good.

Link racing on Yoshi. Oooh yeah.

Mario Kart: Double Dash, back on the Gamecube, had some of the best tracks in the series’ history (and considering just how great the tracks in the games are, that really is saying something). We had tracks like the perennial favorite, Baby Park, we had Dino Dino Jungle, Mushroom City, Mushroom Bridge, an incredible Rainbow Road, and of course, we had Yoshi Circuit, which was an entire island shaped like everybody’s favorite green dinosaur.

Yoshi Circuit was even remastered after the Gamecube entry- it was featured as one of the 16 Retro Tracks in Mario Kart DS- but now you get the chance to see it in all its HD glory, as Nintendo have confirmed that the track will be returning to Mario Kart as part of the upcoming DLC for the game that releases in November.

You can get the DLC pack for the game right now, either separately, or as a bundle with the second DLC pack, which launches next year.
