Senior producer leaves while another veteran returns.

Producer Mark Rubin, who has been with Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward since 2005, has left the company. However, Todd Alderman – who left Infinity Ward in the wake of controversy surrounding the firing of founders Vince Zampella and Jason West – has rejoined as its multiplayer project director.

According to Polygon, Rubin actually left Infinity Ward earlier in the year. There’s been no replacement for him as of yet and reasons for his departure haven’t been revealed. Meanwhile, Alderman returns to the company after spending time at Respawn Entertainment working on Titanfall and Riot Games as part of League of Legends. He was also a part of the Infinity Ward Employee Group which took Activision to court over unpaid employee bonuses in 2010.

What does this mean for the franchise? It’ll certainly be interesting to find out, especially since developmental duties for this year’s iteration of Call of Duty fall on Treyarch. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
