BioWare is all set to release the biggest patch for Mass Effect 3 ever since it released back in March, and it fixes a crapload of issues, everything from bugs and texture problems to multiplayer and campaign issues.

Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble said on Twitter that it’s been in development for months. “We’ll be patching me3 on Thursday. It will be our largest patch,” he said, “and has been in dev. for months. It also sets us up for future…things :)”

Like the upcoming DLC, Omega? Or something more? You bastards, stop teasing us already.

Some of the fixes are:

– Fixed tutorial tip that didn’t properly display an unbound command
– Fixed an issue in multiplayer where if a character has DLC weapons equipped, and the DLC associated to the weapons is deleted, the weapon loadout screen displayed no weapons
– Sabotage power evolution 6 increased tech damage bonus no longer stacks
– Fixed a rare crash in the final mission level involving the firing of the Cain at the Hades Cannon.
– Fixed the Encumbrance Bar from not updating correctly for the Earth DLC weapon mods
– Fixed weapons with natural piercing from having their damage reduced with piercing mods equipped
– Incinerate power evolution 5 now gives a damage bonus to frozen and chilled enemies
– Krogan Vanguard Rage bonuses now work properly

The entire list of fixes is given here, in the BioWare forums.

The patch releases on Thursday, October 4th.

In our review of Mass Effect 3, we gave it a 10/10 and raving praises. Read it here.

Mass Effect 3 fans have been literally begging for a new ending for the game for a long time now, and rumours about that have been strengthening too. But Jennifer Hale, voice actor of female Commander Shepard, hasn’t heard from BioWare regarding any such project yet.

“I was surprised about the level of passion about the ending,” she told Edge. “But there’s something really great about that, too: It says people are invested and they really care and they don’t want to let go, which is awesome because I don’t, either.”

However, she says she’s willing to reprise her role as FemShep if she ever hears from BioWare again. “I have mixed feelings about [the prospect of a new ending],” she continued.

“I really respect the team and what they did and how hard they worked. And endings are hard! They’re cutting new ground; the players are so involved in this game that to come up with an ending to something everyone’s got their hand in is a huge challenge.”

What would you like to see in the new ending of ME3 if and when it ever comes out? Tell us in your comments below.

A “killer new feature” for Mass Effect 3 will be announced in the next issue of Xbox World Magazine, which will be out on shelves on October 25. This big reveal was teased on the magazine’s “coming next month” page of the current issue.

Recently, BioWare said that they’re not completely discarding a Mass Effect MMO idea. So maybe they’ll be testing waters for that with a huge multiplayer component in Mass Effect 3. After all, it has been rumoured that ME3 will have online before.

Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated regarding this matter.

Mass Effect 3 releases on March 6 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Mass Effect 3 is one of those games that is sitting very high on my most anticipated list of 2012. And anyone who has played Mass Effect 2 should feel the same.

Even though Mass Effect 2 was one of the stellar games of 2010, it had it’s fair amount of shortcomings. One of them being the fact that the game leaned more towards shooting mechanics over role playing elements, something which was not the case in the original Mass Effect.

Obviously this has got some fans worried for Mass Effect 3. However, BioWare’s Ray Muzyka has confirmed that the team are working on it and the game will have more RPG elements.

“I think the perception is that they want more RPG elements. We have to address that and the thing is, we are. We took that feedback to heart. As great a game as Mass Effect 2 is, and we’re really proud of it, there’s always opportunity to improve. So in Mass Effect 3, we’re improving the moment to moment action”, he said in an interview with NowGamer.

He further continues by stating that they are working on improving a number of gameplay elements.

“We are improving that but we also are improving the RPG elements too so there’s more customisation, aggression options, more interesting choices, the tactical choices, the weapon modification… you can make Shepard the way you want him to be. That personalisation, along with choice, is really the essence of RPGs. Mass Effect 3 has that in spades.”

Mass Effect 2 was one of the biggest games of 2010 and it received several game of the year awards. You can check the Xbox 360 review here and the dumbed down PS3 version review over here.

Mass Effect 3 is the epic ending to the Mass Effect trilogy, so obviously, there will be a lot of deaths. We knew all along that Shepard could die in ME3 (ig he isn’t already dead in your ME2 save files), but BioWare says there is an ending in the game that features all main characters dying.

BioWare community manager Mike Gamble said so at gamescom while talking to NowGamer. When asked if there was an ending in the game which would see Shepard failing to defeat the Reapers, he responded by saying “Yes” twice.

Shepard’s success will depend on, of course, how many forces you amass to fight against the Reapers, and if those forces are loyal to you. A lot of choices are supposed to come together in ME3, and we can’t wait to see how everything will play out.

There was an ending in Mass Effect 2 that saw Shepard dying. So this shouldn’t come as a big shock, really, especially seeing as the stakes in the game are much higher than the predecessor.

A lot of new info on the game was released in the recent info blowout. Check it out here. A new gameplay trailer and new screens were also released at Gamescom.

In an interview with Destructoid, BioWare said that all characters in the Mass Effect series, big or small, will see a return in Mass Effect 3, and their stories will be tied off. BioWare said they’re “looking to bring back all the characters you interacted with”, especially the ones you had a story or relationship with.

They say it is a “challenging feat, yet really exciting at the same time.”

All characters, small or big, DLC or not, will return. They may not be playable, the may not be squad members, they may not even have huge roles. But all of them will be in the game, and their stories will be tied up. You will “see them, and talk to them, and finish your story with them.”
