Pearl Abyss's open-world action-adventure has also allegedly done well, with almost two million sold on Steam last month.

While Crimson Desert was arguably more anticipated in March, Slay the Spire 2 seemingly stole its thunder, at least when it comes to Steam sales. Alinea Analytics’ Rhy Elliott estimates that it sold 5.3 million copies, generating $108 million in revenue and becoming the top-selling game on the platform for the month.

It’s even more ridiculous when you consider its predecessor hit 1.5 million sales about two months after release (that too after spending nearly two years in early access). Which isn’t to say that Crimson Desert struggled, despite a spectrum of reviews and a “Mixed” rating at launch. It reportedly sold almost two million copies on Steam last month, with Elliott previously alleging that it crossed $200 million revenue across all platforms.

As for Resident Evil Requiem, it reportedly sold 1.2 million copies in March, resulting in $70 million in revenue (with total sales on Steam now seemingly at 2.9 million). Capcom confirmed over two weeks after launch that the survival horror sequel had sold over six million copies, but it wouldn’t be surprising if that total is even higher now.

Nevertheless, with Pragmata out in the coming weeks, the company could be gearing up for another smash hit on Steam. It’s available on April 30th and also coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, after recently going gold.

To date, it has generated $108 million on Steam alone. All this is to say that Slay the Spire 2 easily… pic.twitter.com/27hTyalLaN
— Rhys Elliott (@superhys) April 3, 2026

The card battling roguelite will retail for $24.99 on the eShop.

Mega Crit Games’ Slay the Spire has a release date for Nintendo Switch. The card battling roguelite will be heading to the eShop on June 6th. For those who have wanted a compelling roguelite to play on the go, this is an extremely good option at $24.99.

Slay the Spire sees players choosing from three different classes and progressing through a random series of encounters in the titular spire. Bosses await at the end of each section and you’ll find various Artifacts, buffs, and other items to help in your journey. The real hook is the turn-based combat, which depends entirely on cards, how well they synchronize together, and how (or if) you outplay your opponent.

Slay the Spire first entered development on Steam Early Access for PC and gained a reputation for frequent updates and listening to feedback. It sold over 1.5 million copies on PC and is currently also available for PlayStation 4. Stay tuned for more updates when it’s eventually out for Nintendo Switch.

The rogue-lite card battler arrives on May 21st for the console.

With over 1.5 million units sold on PC, card battler/rogue-lite RPG Slay the Spire from Mega Crit Games is coming to PS4. A new announcement trailer confirmed as much, with pre-orders opening up and providing an exclusive discount along with an avatar set. Slay the Spire releases on May 21st for the console.

If you haven’t followed the game throughout its early access period or following its release on Steam, Slay the Spire is essentially a rogue-lite. You navigate through different floors on a tower, each containing enemies, treasures, items, and artifacts. The core difference is that all attacks, abilities, defense, and whatnot are also done through a deck of cards.

You use a different hand of cards for each turn in a battle and can pick up other cards throughout a certain run. Three classes are available to choose, each with their own unique cards, synergies, and traits. Slay the Spire is also in development for the Nintendo Switch, but no release date has been confirmed yet. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

About 43 percent of sales were from China before any localization was available.

The concept of a collectible card game rogue-lite tower run may not be easily imaginable, but it’s excellently handled in Mega Crit Games’ Slay the Spire. The title has been available for PC via Steam since leaving early access in January and has seen fairly strong success. A company spokesman revealed at GDC 2019 (according to PC Games N) that Slay the Spire has sold over 1.5 million copies since launch.

However, the most interesting part is that 43 percent of the CCG rogue-lite’s sales come from China. “This is before any localisation was available in the game, so there were a lot of confused players,” said the spokesman. It was also revealed that only 41 percent of the game’s audience spoke English, and that localizing in one region created demand in others like Korea, Russia, and Japan.

“We started our localisation efforts, and so the game is now translated to (…) 18 languages. Don’t forget China, there’s a lot of people there!”

Slay the Spire has seen a number of updates and mods since launch. Mega Crit Games promises that more content is coming, but further details have yet to be revealed. A port for Nintendo Switch is also out this year, though we still lack a release date. Perhaps more information will be provided at the upcoming Nindies Showcase? Stay tuned for more details.

The rogue-lite card battler launches after more than three years of development.

Mega Crit Games’ innovative rogue-lite card-battler Slay the Spire has finally left Steam Early Access. It’s now officially launched for PC after over three years in development. The developer thanked fans for their support and released a trailer to celebrate. Check it out below.

Slay the Spire is an intriguing title in that players choose a class – Ironclad, The Defect, or Silent – and progress through procedurally generated sections in a large tower. Each class has its own starting deck of cards with attack and defense options, status ailments, and whatnot, with more cards, relics, and other items discovered throughout a run. With bosses, multiple Acts, Steam Workshop support, and much more added over the early access period, there’s plenty to sink one’s teeth into.

The developer promised more PC-specific features that would be coming in a later update. It declined to comment on future content and will be taking a break from weekly updates, but there’s still plenty to look forward to. Slay the Spire will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.

Rogue-lite card battler Slay the Spire just keeps getting better. Mega Crit Games have announced Steam Workshop support in its most recent update. This means that enthusiastic modders can add new cards, events, relics, and even their own playable characters into the base game. Though mods have been available for a while, this update will make the process much easier for both users and modders.

Some of the more intriguing mods include Hubris and Replay the Spire, which add new bosses, events, and modifiers on top of new cards and relics. Characters like The Slimebound, The Construct, and The Disciple are also available to try, each with their own unique mechanics and hooks. Suffice it to say, if you need any more excuses to keep playing the game, this latest update should work.

Slay the Spire will have a lot more in store this month when it releases out of Steam Early Access. Available on January 23rd for PC, the game’s fourth act will likely be available alongside the full retail release. Slay the Spire will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.
