The kind of stuff that will make you cringe right out of your skin.

More and more each year, we see video games featuring voice acting that is absolutely top class, as developed begin to realize its importance in telling an engaging story in an effective manner. From the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 or Life is Strange to Firewatch or basically anything that Naughty Dog puts out, the number of games where actors deliver some standpoint performances has continued to grow exponentially. But of course, things weren’t always so rosy.

Over the years, we’ve also seen a lot of games with absolutely horrendous voice acting, sometimes with a particular character, other times in the entire game as a whole. And while that’s become less common now than it was a few years back, it still happens every now and again. In this feature, we’ll be taking a look at fifteen games with some of the worst voice over performances we have ever come across.

TIDUS IN FINAL FANTASY 10

The scene in Final Fantasy 10 where Tidus and Yuna laugh into oblivion like maniacs has gone down in history as one of the cringiest in our industry- and for good reason. As bad as that scene is, though, it’s also emblematic of just how bad Tidus’ voicework was for the entirety of the game. Sure, Final Fantasy 10 does deserve some slack, considering that it was the first game in the series to even have voice acting- it’s a good thing the series learned from its mistakes.

You will need to know a hidden trick in order to defeat these annoying bosses.

Ever encountered a boss that you couldn’t beat by thwacking, slashing or shooting it a bunch? Did you ever need a eureka moment or the aid of some little trick to properly vanquish a foe for good? Such boss fights are more common than you’d think so let’s look at 15 bosses that you’ll never beat without a hidden trick or two.

Fool’s Idol – Demon’s Souls

Generally considered one of the easier bosses in Demon’s Souls, the Fool’s Idol has her fair share of tricks. She’s surrounded by prisoners and can create fake clones to throw you off. While the trick to beating her is to identify the right Idol, there is one more wrinkle to take care. There’s actually a prisoner who will keep healing the boss so it’s best to find and kill him beforehand before taking on the boss.

The Blue Bomber nostalgia tour continues.

Capcom may not be too hot on bringing us new Mega Man games, but they seem to have no issues with bringing us older ones so we can experience them all over again. They recently brought over some classic Mega Man adventures to both, PlayStation and Wii U, via the PSN Classics and Virtual Console services respectively, and now, continuing on with that theme, they have released the classic Mega Man 8 on PSN as well.

Mega Man 8 may not have been received as well in its heyday as its brethren, thanks to its patchy voice acting, and slower gameplay, but it still gained a cult following over the years, and it remains a fundamentally good game. The game runs on PS3 and PSP, and is also fully compatible with Vita. Fans of the Blue Bomber can’t really go wrong with this, especially since its core gameplay has aged far better than its presentation.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more.
