These bosses have multiple ways to pummel their foes and just when you think it ends with one form, a crazy transformation awaits.

With how many different types of boss fights we’ve seen over many decades of gaming, those with transformations still continue to be incredibly relevant. Sure, they may end up prolonging fights but at least they look super-cool (or downright terrifying, depending on who you’re fighting). Let’s take a look at 15 insane transformations for bosses here. Spoilers follow so be warned.

Yami – Okami

The battle with Amaterasu’s archenemy Yami plays out over five different phases. Yami’s first form is akin to a sphere with an intricate glowing red design that can lash out with tendrils and launch missiles. Its second form takes on a greenish appearance which segregates into platforms and can use fire to attack. Hilariously, it becomes a kind of slot machine for its third phase while its fourth form is a yellow sphere that has legs and arms. All of this culminates in a giant claw extending from the sphere while the arena is covered in darkness, missiles and lasers.

No matter how good or bad these games are, their AI leaves much to be desired.

For all of the great enemies that we’ve faced in gaming history – from the Marines in Half Life to the Replicants in F.E.A.R. – there are some that are simply dumb. We’re talking dumb as doorknobs and half as useful. We may never know why some enemy AI is so gosh-darn horrible but it’s still funny to witness. Let’s take a look at 14 games with terrible AI.

Days Gone

While the Freaker Hordes tend to be powerful threats, many of the Bandits in Days Gone are just dumb. It’s extremely easy to sneak up and kill them within a few feet of their allies without causing a stir. You can murder heaps of enemies from a bush simply because the others fail to react when one goes down. To think that these stray humans managed to survive when the Freakers are clearly smarter.
