Update on sales performance for Mega Man 11, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary, and more provided.

Along with strong profits thanks to the success of Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2, Capcom also credited its action RPG Monster Hunter World with continued impressive sales. In its recent financial report for the fiscal year quarter ending March 31st, the company said that Monster Hunter World “maintained its popularity” after last year’s success. This was thanks to its user base expanding and the PC version boosting profits thanks to its solid performance.

Even Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch has done fairly well outside of Japan, with Capcom reporting “robust sales.” Mega Man 11 and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary were also noted as performing well, while the “enduring popularity” of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard led to increased sales too. Overall, it’s been a pretty good year for Capcom.

Monster Hunter World had shipped 12 million units worldwide as of February 2019, a number which Capcom hasn’t offered an update on. It continues to see updates, with Arch-Tempered Nergigante scheduled for this Spring. A major expansion, Iceborne, with a new continent, new quest rank, armour, and much more is also slated to arrive in Autumn 2019.

Some decidedly not-mega news for EU Megafans.

For his 30th anniversary, Capcom did what we had all long ago lost hope for, and revealed that rumours of the Blue Bomber’s death had been greatly exaggerated with Megaman 11’s announcement, which is finally taking the series in a new direction and moving away from the return to 8-bit Megaman 9 and 10 tried. However, Switch fans and Megaman Fans in Europe may have a bit of a problem.

According to a report by The Nintendo Channel, Capcom Europe has chosen not to distribute physical copies of Megaman 11 on Nintendo’s hybrid system in their region, while also saying they have “Nothing to announce” regarding the Megaman Amiibo.

While Capcom USA is going the full 9-yards for Megaman’s return, Capcom Europe’s stance makes some sense when considering the franchise has never seen huge success in the region, and the added cost of producing cartridges over Blu-rays. PS4 and Xbox One copies will still be distributed in the region. Does this change your feelings on the game at all? Let us know in the comments.
