The collection will allegedly be multiplatform and include remastered versions of the first three Metal Gear Solid games.

It’s looking increasingly likely that the long-rumoured remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is finally going to be unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase later today (and that it won’t be exclusive to the PS5, contrary to previous reports), though interestingly, that might not be the only new Metal Gear announcement planned for the coming days and weeks.

According to Windows Central’s Jez Corden, Konami is also planning on announcing a Metal Gear Solid Classic Collection soon- potentially next month, though where exactly the announcement will be made remains to be seen. According to Corden, the collection will include remastered versions of the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

It’s also been claimed that the remastered collection, similar to the aforementioned Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, will be multiplatform. Given how old these three games are, does that mean it will launch for the Nintendo Switch as well? That remains to be seen.

Either way, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a remastered Metal Gear Solid collection, with reports earlier in the year also claiming that the same was being considered behind the scenes at Konami.

Stealth fanatics have quite a bit to look forward to in the near future, and we will be running down 15 of the best games to look out for.

The stealth game genre isn’t as popular as RPGs or action adventure, but it has been slowly and steadily growing with each passing year. 2023 and beyond is looking to be a fruitful time for games of this ilk, and to that end – we present 15 upcoming games with stealth elements that you should definitely keep an eye out for.

Splinter Cell Remake

The Splinter Cell brand is home to some of the best stealth games of all time, but with recent entries not performing as well as the developer expected them to – the franchise was put on indefinite hold. But now, the developer is hard at work on a full fledged remake of the original for modern consoles and PC. The remake is being developed using the Snowdrop Engine, and Ubisoft has clarified that the team will be focused on keeping the core stealth experience intact while modernizing the game for a brand new audience. While we are yet to see the game in action, the Splinter Cell remake is sounding really promising at the moment.

These silly boss fights might annoy you, make you laugh, or even make you wonder about the absurdity of it all - but they will remain with you long after you roll the credits.

Boss fights are arguably one of the highlights for any action game, and they come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Some fights are brutal while others can be forgettable, but the most interesting types of bosses are the ones that can best be described as silly. This can be due to some hilarious boss design, funny mechanics, weird difficulty, or perhaps something completely different – and we will be running down 15 of such silly boss fights in games with this feature.

Psycho Mantis (Metal Gear Solid)

Metal Gear Solid has a reputation for featuring boss fights that defy player expectations – and Psycho Mantis is definitely one such fight that really shocked gamers back in the day. You see, Psycho Mantis will always evade your moves since he’s reading them directly from the controller – which makes it impossible to damage the boss at first. Psycho Mantis can also read your memory card, and his dialogues will reflect what saves are present on your card.

The solution to beating him is to switch the controller from port 1 to port 2, which makes him open to attacks. Once that’s done, this boss fight becomes ridiculously easy and you can easily gun him down and get on with the story. On repeat playthroughs when you know what needs to be done, Psycho Mantis becomes a very silly albeit creative boss fight that poses little to no threat to the player.

From light-hearted jokes to red-hot jabs to everything in between, these are some of the best ways games have made fun of us for dying.

Dying is part of playing games (and real life), and while it can be a frustrating gameplay experience at times, it’s fun when the games make it fun. There are several ways to do that, of course, but the most obvious one is to alleviate the tension with a joke or a stray, casual, lighthearted jab. We don’t see something like that all too often in games, but when we do, it stands out. Here, we’re going to talk about a few games that do just that, and do it rather well.

BATMAN: ARKHAM SERIES

Gotham’s villains have been trying to kill the Batman for as long as he has been around, and the Arkham series has some fun with the moments where, for whatever reason, you do send the Caped Crusader to an early grave. Whatever villain it is that you’re going up against will show up on a black screen, look down at your corpse, and hurl insults at you. Some, like the Joker’s are funny in a twisted sort of way, while others, like Killer Croc’s, just seem a little excessive. Either way, it’s a cool spin on the classic “game over” screen.
