Though it didn’t showcase gameplay, new in-game screenshots are available, showcasing the jump in visual quality. Along with PS5, it confirmed releases on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. Check out the images below (spoiler: alligators are back).

On the official website, the development team confirmed that the title is a remake and that it’s “working hard” to ensure this is a “faithful recreation of the original story.”

A release date wasn’t provided, but in the meantime, fans can experience Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, which is the “most complete compilation that celebrates the 35th anniversary of the series.” It contains the original games “as first released,” though only Vol. 1, which includes Metal Gear Solid 1 to 3, was showcased.

The messaging seemingly indicates that a Vol. 2 is also coming, though it hasn’t been confirmed. As such, the Master Collection will also release for the “latest platforms,” so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

It revealed a cinematic trailer of a bird flying across a swamp and being caught by a snake. Not that snake, but an actual snake. Of course, Naked Snake (the future Big Boss) is revealed in all his camouflaged glory. Check it out below.

Nothing else was revealed, save for the remake coming to PS5, which is interesting considering the rumors that it’s a multi-platform release. In addition to the remake, another rumor was confirmed – the original versions of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are being re-released for PS5 this Autumn.
