Mewtwo, the first DLC character for super Smash bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, will be made available to everyone to purchase later this month, but he will also be available to everyone who bought both, the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game, for free, and two weeks earlier at that. You see, as of right now, Nintendo is starting to send download codes for Mewtwo to people who bought both versions of the new Smash game.

To qualify for this free and early DLC, you need to have bought and registered both versions of the game on the now defunct Club nintendo program. Assuming you did so, keep an eye on your inbox, as you will be getting the codes in your inbox within the next 24 hours.

The 3DS code must be redeemed in the in-game shop, while the Wii U code needs to be, bafflingly, redeemed on the eShop.

Still, we get Mewtwo in Smash again! This is time to celebrate! Whoo whoo!

Today, Nintendo releases a new animation clip that finally revealed the connection between Mewtwo and the strange new Pokemon. Simply put – what you see before you is the evolution of Mewtwo. No, no information yet on whether this is final form or not.

But again, it just raises all sorts of questions – why now? What has caused the evolution? What are Mewtwo’s new powers? More importantly, as an enemy of humanity throughout the years, whose side is Mewtwo on? And just where is the original Mew?

We guess we’ll find out when Pokemon X/Y releases in October later this year for Nintendo 3DS.

Last year a special Mewtwo was given away by The Pokemon company in Japan. Now, said Mewtwo will be making his way to the US of A. Starting February 12th, The Pokemon Company will begin distributing the Mewtwo over Wi-Fi for Black or White owners. A page on the official Pokemon website claims he has a move which Mewtwo cannot otherwise obtain, so it may well be the same as the Japanese Mewtwo who came with Psystrike, Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere, and Electro Ball.
