Microsoft's stage offered tons of exciting announcements and game reveals.

Walking into this conference, Microsoft had everything to prove to its burgeoning fan base, especially in the wake of successes by Sony and Nintendo. While it’s subjective as to whether they had the best E3 presser (the others haven’t even aired yet), there were a number of big shocking announcements to go through. Let’s highlight 15 of them for you here.

Halo Infinite

It was probably a given that Microsoft wouldn’t show much about the next Halo. That being said, Halo Infinite, with its Slipspace Engine and taking us back to the familiar Halo world, looks familiar. It’s almost comforting to see something we’ve known for so long. Granted, we have no idea what the actual game is but hey, it’s in development. Now let’s hope they don’t screw it up.

There is no timeline for release of the next console, unfortunately.

At the tail-end of Microsoft’s E3 2018 presser, it spoke about the power of the Xbox One X and about its upcoming streaming services. Along with confirming that the company would be looking to bring console-quality titles to any device via streaming, Xbox boss Phil Spencer also confirmed that the next Xbox was in development.

The next Xbox will be handled by the team behind the Xbox One X, who are currently “deep into architecting the next Xbox console where we will once again deliver on our commitment to deliver the benchmark of console gaming.”

This seems to indicate that it will be as powerful as the Xbox One X, if not more. However, a recent report by Thurrott’s Brad Sams indicates that the codename for the “next series of devices” is Scarlet. There’s no timeline for release and the sources are anonymous (as per usual). Regardless, it should be interesting to see what Microsoft ends up naming the console.

After all, Project Scorpio became the xbox One X, which is a far cry from scorpions in any shape of form. What do you hope to see from the next Xbox, aside from confirmed titles like The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield? Let us know in the comments below.

At long last, we get an update...

Microsoft closed their E3 show in style, with CD Projekt RED “hacking” into their conference, to show a trailer for the long anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. The trailer finally showed us more of the game and its setting (a poverty stricken American metropolis in 2077), showing off some of the what I presume will be the open world, combat, and what I think was driving?

The game has a distinct 70s style electronic aesthetic and the soundtrack used was appropriately techno. It was a good trailer overall, but- and you know there’s a but- this was it. It was two minutes of spliced footage, no gameplay, and we didn’t even get an update on the game’s release date. Like, not even the release year. It was just a short video that didn’t let much on. Given that the game was announced in 2012, and is gearing up for a release soon by all accounts, this was actually pretty disappointing as a showing on that front.

Cyberpunk 2077 is due out at some point for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
