They will be joined with roguelike platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer, with all games going live on April 2.

Sony has revealed the three games that will be free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers in the month of May, and a couple of notable names are on the list. For starters, there’s Immortals of Aveum (for PS5 users only), Ascendant Studios’ single player magic FPS. CEO Bret Robins said in November last year that the game would eventually be coming to subscription services, and here it is. Now to see if it also launches for Game Pass.

Also coming to PlayStation Plus next month is Minecraft Legends (for both PS5 and PS4 players), Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive’s real-time action strategy spinoff, which released nearly a year ago. The third and final game for subscribers next month will be SouthPAW Games’ 2021 roguelite action platformer, Skul: The Hero Slayer (for subscribers on all platforms).

All three games will become available for subscribers of all three PS Plus tiers on April 2, which means you have until April 1 to claim the current set of games.

The final Lost Legend, Snow vs Snouts, will go live later this month, while all players can claim the free Bright-Eyed Hero skin.

Less than a year after its launch, Minecraft Legends won’t receive any more new content. This includes upgrades, Marketplace DLC, and Lost Legends. The final Lost Legend, Snow vs Snouts, will go live later this month.

The remaining Lost Legends challenges are still available, and players can claim the Bright-Eyed Hero skin for free. The development team will also continue providing technical support while features like PvP and co-op are still available.

As for Snow vs Snouts, it’s set during a snowy season, with players utilizing a powerful Redstone Launcher to destroy piglin bases. The trade-off is not being able to control mobs or build structures. Finish the Lost Legend, and the Snow Guardian Hero skin is available as a reward.

As for the future, Mojang Studios senior creative writer Cristina Anderca said, “With the support of our team, our partners, and the Minecraft community, we’re going to continue exploring the types of games we’re passionate about and bringing new experiences to the Minecraft universe. Together, we united the Overworld, made some adorably scary friends, and, most importantly, showed those piglins that they messed with the wrong dimension again and again. Keep your banners raised because the Overworld will always need a hero!”

Minecraft Legends is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Check out our review here.

The open-world action RPG returns to the top of the charts, while Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's physical sales are down by 68 percent.

Gfk’s latest physical sales charts in the UK are available, and WB Games’ Hogwarts Legacy is back on top. The open-world action RPG dropped to second place last week following the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, thanks to the recent Xbox One and PS4 versions, it’s once again on top.

Furthermore, the current-gen versions have done extremely well, becoming the fourth biggest releases of the year. It’s ahead of Dead Island 2 but behind Jedi: Survivor and Resident Evil Remake (as per Games Industry). As for Respawn Entertainment’s sequel, the physical sales dropped by 68 percent week-on-week. However, its launch sales were up by 30 percent over Jedi: Fallen Order, thanks to digital sales.

Dead Island 2 also saw its sales drop by 51 percent, as it moved to third place. As for the other recent release, Mojang’s action strategy Minecraft Legends, it’s still in 10th place. With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom out this week, its sales should be interesting after all the hype.

Check out the top-ten best-selling physical titles in the UK for the week ending May 6th below.

Though physical sales were down by 35 percent to Jedi: Fallen Order, revenue only dropped by 19 percent due to the higher retail price.

After revealing that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was the second biggest game launch in the UK this year, Gfk’s UK physical sales charts for the week ending April 29th are now available (via GamesIndustry). Unsurprisingly, Respawn’s sequel is in first place, despite sales being 35 percent lower than Jedi: Fallen Order.

Of course, digital sales have grown in that time, but Jedi: Survivor has a higher retail price, being roughly more than £10. Revenue is thus only down by 19 percent for the sequel, with 82 percent of sales on PS5 and 18 percent on Xbox Series X/S. How digital sales will pan out remains to be seen.

As for Dead Island 2, it dropped to second place, with sales down by 45 percent. It’s worth noting that two-thirds of its launch week sales were digital, as per GSD. Other newer titles include Minecraft Legends, which went from second to seventh, as sales dropped by 62 percent. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp debuted in third place, and with sales dropping by 70 percent week-over-week, it’s now in 17th.

Check out the full Gfk UK physical top ten for the week below:

A complete guide on crafting structures in Minecraft Legends.

As can be expected from a real-time strategy game, Minecraft Legends has a host of structures to construct. These are broadly categorized into three groups:

Spawners

Buildings

Improvements

In this guide we will be delving into each category, as well as their individual structures.

Spawners

Of the thirteen commandable mobs in Minecraft Legends so far, seven can be summoned using Spawner structures that are unique to each mob.

Cobblestone Golem Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

Dirt cheap to construct, this Spawner lets you field your earliest melee troops long before you seal your first alliances with the various factions in the Overworld. Lets you spawn Cobblestone Golems.

Plank Golem Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

Your first ranged troops are spawned here, giving you plenty of decent firepower in your war with the Piglin Hordes. Lets you spawn Plank Golems.

Mossy Golem Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

5 Iron

The healers spawned here can also debuff you and your troops, cleansing you all of negative effects. You will likely never have to build more than one. Lets you spawn Mossy Golems.

Grindstone Golem Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

5 Iron

Berserkers that can stun enemies and rush ranged units are produced by this Spawner, and one that you will want to build at forward bases as you inch your way towards the Piglin bases. Lets you spawn Grindstone Golems.

Zombie Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

5 Redstone

After making an alliance with the Zombie homestead, you will be able to construct this Spawner, allowing you to recruit a mob that hits a bit harder than Cobblestone Golems. Lets you spawn Zombies.

Skeleton Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

5 Diamond

Establish ties with the Skeleton homestead and you will be enabled to build this Spawner that fields a mob with the longest range in the game. Lets you spawn Skeletons.

Creeper Spawner

25 Wood

25 Stone

5 Coal

Befriend the Creeper homestead in order to make this Spawner which produces explosive units that are especially suited for demolishing structures, or annihilating large crowds of enemy mobs. Lets you spawn Creepers.

Buildings

The Buildings category encompasses all manner of offensive, defensive, and support structures for your base and beyond.

Ramp

3 Wood

A critical structure for map traversal, Ramps allow you and your mobs to reach otherwise inaccessible heights, such as the multi-storied bases of the Spore Horde. It can also be used to build bridges across lava and water if the build cursor is placed over them. No other building can be constructed on Piglin netherrack.

Gate

50 Wood

50 Stone

Gates serve as the only openings in your defensive ring of Walls, and will automatically open for allies in proximity. They will remain tightly shut if any enemies are in the vicinity.

Extendable Wall

3 Wood

A bulwark against enemy incursions into your base. Gradually turn them to Stone automatically, for no additional cost, by constructing a Masonry in the vicinity.

Carpenter Hut

150 Wood

150 Stone

By centrally locating the Carpenter Hut, all allied structures within its zone of influence will automatically be slowly and steadily repaired. Additional Carpenter Huts will not stack the repair rate, but will widen the radius of the repair zone.

Arrow Tower

35 Wood

35 Stone

Offensive structure that fires at enemies within range automatically. They can be buffed by proximity to Battle Drums, Kaboomery, and Spyglass Overlook.

Scatter Tower

35 Wood

35 Stone

10 Coal

Short range variant of the Arrow Tower, this one fires a volley of arrows at enemies that enter its zone. Also buffed by proximity to Battle Drums, Kaboomery, and Spyglass Overlook.

Ice Trap

25 Stone

5 Diamond

An excellent tool for obstructing base attackers, use the trap to temporarily freeze enemies while your Towers get a bead on them. They do zero damage themselves.

Protector Tower

75 Wood

75 Stone

60 Coal

A missile defense system, this structure will simply neutralize all enemy projectiles in its zone of influence. Ideally located in the heart of your base for maximum coverage.

Masonry

50 Wood

100 Stone

200 Iron

A base-wide defensive buff to durability for all Gates, Walls, and Towers can be gained by centrally locating the Masonry and permanently transforming them to Stone automatically for no extra cost.

Redstone Launcher

50 Wood

100 Stone

100 Redstone

This cannon structure can launch devastating attacks on structures, but must be manually operated, and also has a significant reload time between shots.

Wellhouse

250 Wood

250 Stone

75 Iron

50 Prismarine

Wellhouses double up as respawn points and fast travel portals, serving the same function as village fountains. Any Firsts that fall in battle will also spawn here. While highly durable, they can be destroyed and need some degree of defense.

Spyglass Overlook

50 Wood

100 Stone

200 Diamond

These excellent upgrade structures extend the range of your offensive buildings: Arrow Towers, Scatter Towers, Redstone Launcher, but only if they are within its zone of influence.

Kaboomery

50 Wood

100 Stone

200 Coal

Grants an explosive knockback buff to any of your offensive structures within its range: Arrow Towers, Scatter Towers, Redstone Launcher.

Battle Drum

100 Wood

50 Stone

100 Redstone

Raises the rate of fire of your offensive structures: Arrow Towers, Scatter Towers, Redstone Launcher, as well as Traps.

Blast Tower

125 Stone

100 Redstone

1 Blast Tower

These Towers need to be acquired in the open world, and there are just three to be collected and then deployed per map. Blast Towers fire projectiles with a knockback effect at enemies in range. It will not be buffed by your support structures.

Frost Tower

125 Stone

100 Diamond

1 Frost Tower

A Tower counterpart to the Ice Trap, the Frost Tower fires ice cubes at enemies in range, gradually slowing them down. Only three are available for collection and deployment per map, and will not be upgraded by your support structures.

Stun Tower

125 Stone

125 Coal

1 Stun Tower

Sonic emitter that does no damage to enemies in range, but stuns them long enough for your other defenses to kick in. Just three can be found and rebuilt on the map in each campaign, and do not benefit from your support structures.

Improvements

Bound to the location of your Well Of Fate, this category of structures are necessary to do what their title implies: improve your base.

Improvement: Gather Iron

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

Unlocks the ability to gather Iron by your Blue Allays, effectively unlocking access to both Mossy and Grindstone Golems as well. Additional construction will expand your storage capacity for Iron by 150 slots.

Improvement: Gather Coal

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

Unlocks the ability to gather Coal by your Blue Allays, effectively unlocking access to Creepers as well. Additional construction will expand your storage capacity for Coal by 150 slots.

Improvement: Gather Redstone

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

Unlocks the ability to gather Redstone by your Blue Allays, effectively unlocking access to Zombies as well. Additional construction will expand your storage capacity for Redstone by 150 slots.

Improvement: Gather Diamond

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

Unlocks the ability to gather Diamond by your Blue Allays, effectively unlocking access to Skeletons as well. Additional construction will expand your storage capacity for Diamond by 150 slots.

Improvement: Cure Netherrack

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

The Piglin blight spreads Netherrack blocks across the Overworld. This infestation can be reverted by Blue Allays through this Improvement, with the added bonus of making it possible to construct forward bases right up against the perimeters of Piglin bases.

Improvement: Allay Storage

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

10 Gold

Greatly expands your resource storage space, allowing you to hoard an additional 500 Wood, 500 Stone, 150 Lapis, 150 Prismarine, and 150 Gold. Each additional Improvement will grant the same amount of expansion space as well.

Improvement: Abundant Allays

100 Stone

50 Prismarine

10 Gold

Deploys two additional Allays each of both Blue and Yellow variants. Every additional Improvement will grant the same number of extra Allays.

Improvement: Banner

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

25 Gold

Each of these Improvements allows you to rally an additional fifteen mobs to your side simultaneously.

Improvement: Flames Of Creation

200 Stone

200 Prismarine

25 Gold

Flames of Creation determine the mob limits of your army. Each Improvement constructed will increase that limit by an additional four flames.

Improvement: Large Flames Of Creation

400 Stone

400 Prismarine

100 Gold

Flames of Creation determine the mob limits of your army. Each Improvement constructed will increase that limit by an additional ten flames.

Improvement: Wake The First

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

This structure will have to be constructed prior to attempting to raise The Firsts. Fortunately, only one has to be built in order to wake all four Firsts.

Improvement: Shared Village Chests

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

25 Iron

25 Coal

25 Diamond

25 Redstone

Improvement: Collect Power Towers

100 Stone

100 Prismarine

Enables you to collect the Blast, Frost, and Stun Towers from the wild, and rebuild them wherever you please, for an additional cost in Gold.

Improvement: Expert Carpentry

200 Stone

200 Prismarine

50 Gold

Doubles the repair speed of the Carpenter Hut, and speeds up construction of new structures by 50%. Will not stack beyond the one improvement.

Improvement: Expert Mason

200 Stone

200 Prismarine

50 Gold

Doubles the upgrade speed of the Masonry as it transforms structures into Stone. Expands the zone of influence of support structures by 50%, including the Carpenter Hut, Battle Drum, Kaboomery, and Spyglass Overlook.

And that is all of the structures available to build in Minecraft Legends to help you stop the Piglin invasion.

A complete guide on mobs in Minecraft Legends.

Minecraft would be an empty desolate world without loads of mobs, whether friendly, hostile, or neutral, and the same goes for Minecraft Legends. Here is a helpful guide on each one and how to either acquire them or counter them.

Friendlies

There are currently thirteen mobs that can be commanded in Minecraft Legends, whether spawned or recruited in the world.

Zombies

2 Redstone

2 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

These are your rank and file melee foots oldiers. High health, hard hitting, debuff resistant, and cheap to spawn, they can be overwhelming as a swarm, but also lead to severe congestion in the tight confines of Piglin bases, leading to a tactical breakdown for your other mobs. Their little farmer hats allow them to shuffle around in the daytime, instead of burning up. Find their homestead, most often in Jungle biomes, and turn back the Piglin tide attacking their camp in order to unlock them. Once that mission is completed, they can be spawned from their dedicated Zombie Spawner that costs 25 Wood, 25 Stone, and 5 Redstone.

Skeletons

2 Diamond

2 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

Your basic ranged mob, Skeletons in Minecraft Legends differ from those in the base Minecraft game in that they do not melee when engaged at close range. They make up for it by having the longest range of all mobs, even firing over walls, and have the damage output to go with it. They too wear helmets to protect themselves from being set alight when exposed to sunlight. The Skeleton village is most often located in Tundra biomes, and they too need your aid in repelling Piglin invaders. Once accomplished, they can be spawned from a Skeleton Spawner that costs 25 Wood, 25 Stone, and 5 Diamond.

Creepers

2 Coal

2 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

The dreaded Creeper from Minecraft proper is no longer a persistent menace to you in Minecraft Legends. Instead, they can be directed at the Piglin enemy and their structures, whereupon they will dutifully detonate themselves, exterminating everything and everyone in proximity. The resulting explosion causes survivors to flee as well. Being fairly weak, keep them in your backline, to avoid wasting them. The Creeper camp is usually found in Badlands biomes, and once you have established an alliance, you can construct a Creeper Spawner for 25 Wood, 25 Stone, and 5 Coal.

Allays

Either found for free by chance in Chests, or two of each variant are recruited for every construction of an Abundant Allays Tower for the price of:

100 Stones

50 Prismarine

10 Gold

These friendly little imps are your peons–the Yellow variant carrying out construction, while the Blue variant gathers up resources. Both can counter the spread of netherrack by turning it back to grass, limiting the Piglin blight upon the land, and restoring the landscape to grass. This also allows you to construct your own structures closer to Piglin bases.

Cobblestone Golems

1 Stone

1 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

These little fellas are some of your earliest mobs, and pack a considerable punch before you acquire Zombies. On the frontline of a rallied army, they can serve as excellent decoys while dealing plenty of damage, especially in groups of five or more, and are great for hammering away at enemy structures. They are also able to send enemies airborne with their disruptive melee strike. To recruit them, simply construct a Cobblestone Golem Spawner for 25 Wood and 25 Stone.

Plank Golems

1 Wood

1 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

Your basic ranged Golem, the Plank Golem quickfires darts from its barrel-like snout. They are relatively weak for a Golem, and should be relegated to the backline, but in large numbers they can be quite formidable based on the sheer volume and speed of their projectiles. Available for you to spawn via a Plank Golem Spawner that costs 25 Wood and 25 Stone.

Grindstone Golems

1 Iron

1 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

An advanced melee Golem, these little hulks are the first of two Golems to require advanced resources in the form of Iron. If Cobblestone Golems are your frontline, then Grindstone Golems should be the very tip of your spear, with their highly disruptive attack knocking back and stunning enemies. They are also best used to rush ranged attackers, and defending your other mobs that are focused on structural demolition. Their Grindstone Golem Spawner can be built for 25 Wood, 25 Stone, and 5 Iron.

Mossy Golems

1 Iron

1 Lapis

1 Flame of Creation

Your second advanced Golem, these support-class Golems are the medics/healers of your army. Besides healing both you and your mobs, they can also negate debuffs, and sparing you the cost in time and resources it would otherwise take to spawn in reinforcements. Very many are not really required, especially given the mob limits in place. The Mossy Golem Spawner requires 25 Wood, 25 Stone, and 5 Iron.

First of Stone

100 Gold

500 Stone

This walking siege engine tosses boulders at your targets, can tank a great deal of incoming damage, as well as slamming the ground when engaged in close combat. Find and reassemble it in Meadow biomes, after constructing a single Tower Of Waking for 100 Stone and 100 Prismarine, at your Well Of Fate.

First of Oak

100 Gold

500 Wood

Basically a jacked-up Plank Golem, its snout cannon is best situated at the mid to backline, as an ultimate last line of defense for your other ranged units. Find and reassemble it in Badlands biomes, after constructing a single Tower Of Waking for 100 Stone and 100 Prismarine, at your Well Of Fate.

First of Brick

100 Gold

125 Iron

This barrier-caster support mob can protect your other mobs, especially the vulnerable Creepers, in the initial stages of a base assault, when you are still trying to breach the main gate and walls. Find and reassemble it in Dry Savanna biomes, after constructing a single Tower Of Waking for 100 Stone and 100 Prismarine, at your Well Of Fate.

First of Diorite

100 Gold

125 Coal

Essentially a walking Golem Spawner, this First should be placed midline, to deflect attention from the backline while remaining relatively unharmed and spawning in more Golems. Find and reassemble it in Jagged Peak biomes, after constructing a single Tower Of Waking for 100 Stone and 100 Prismarine, at your Well Of Fate.

Warriors

These ax-wielders are ordinary villagers that have taken up arms towards the end-game. They are not summonable, and can only be recruited by visiting villages. This relative scarcity is balanced by them being one of the strongest mobs in the game, in addition to not counting towards your Flames of Creation mob limit. Piglins take the most damage from them, and even when Warriors inevitably die, fresh recruits can always be found at the village fountain.

Hostiles

There are four ranks of Piglin invaders to contend with–low, regular, elite, and general. While low and regular ranks are shared across the three Hordes, the elites and the general are unique to each.

Mace Runt

The lowliest of the Piglin invaders, these melee swarmers will overwhelm with sheer force of numbers, but can be cut down easily from afar, and even by yourself.

Blaze Runt

A step above Mace Runts, but that isn’t saying much, these Blaze rod-chucking Piglins are the basic ranged troops of the Horde. They still can not hold a candle to your Skeletons though, nor to your Plank Golems. You can kill them too, but be wary of them in numbers.

Piglin Builder

These Piglin peons ought to rank even lower than Mace Runts in the threat hierarchy, but their ability to repair and reconstruct their allied structures makes them pose a greater threat, not to mention the area of effect damage from the grenade they can fire from their backpack. If there is ever a Piglin you ought to eliminate personally every time, this one is it.

Spore Medic

Piglin field medics should be your number one target priority in battle. Their nether-spores sustain Piglins up in the Overworld, and heal injured Piglin combatants as well as simultaneously harming you and your mobs. Easily dispatched by you as well.

Seeker

The Piglin explosive counterpart to your Creepers, these servants of the Horde will detonate their explosive mushroom at will, annihilating anything and everything within range. Best taken out from afar, or avoided entirely if there is no alternative.

Warboar

Possibly Piglin progenitors, these four-legged invaders lead with their tusks, goring and trampling everything in their path. While you can engage and kill these like all lowly Piglin ranks, they are best avoided given their much higher health pool.

Lava Launcher

These Warboar-mounted cannons are your first experience with Piglin regulars. A ponderous beast, it will rely on long-range attacks with magma cubes fired from the cannon strapped to its back, to demolish your structures, but will also trample your mobs if they get within striking distance. Your own attacks will have no effect on it.

Portal Guard

These buff versions of Brutes are members of all Hordes and are found deep within Piglin bases where they do as their name implies, and guard the very Portal that is your ultimate objective. Hard-hitting up close, they are easily countered from range, but do not expect to make quick work of their fairly high health pool. Wielding a flail that can also be used at range in one hand, and swinging a blade in the other, they are a formidable foe. As a Piglin regular unit, they are not affected by your own attacks.

Pigmadillo

Each of the three Piglin Hordes employs a unique elite unit, and the heavily bone-armored Pigmadillo serves in that capacity for the Horde of the Hunt (Red). As the name implies, they can curl up into a ball and will roll around smashing through your mobs and buildings alike–with wooden walls falling apart like so many matchsticks. Their high health makes them difficult to take down, and certainly not by you on your mount.

Sporeback

Sporebacks are fielded by the Horde of the Spore (Green), and are the ranged elite of the Piglin invasion. They lob mushroom grenades to ensnare your mobs, holding them in place, and rendering them vulnerable to their fellow Piglins. Do not engage in person.

Brute

The Horde of the Bastion (Yellow) fields the Brute in battle, which employs a spinning attack using blades wielded in both arms to scatter your mobs. Not to be trifled with in person, they have high health, just like the other elite units. Avoid personal combat.

The Beast

These centaur-like Piglins are the Boss mob for the Horde of the Hunt (Red). Employing the charge and trample tactics of the Warboar, it will first emerge into the Overworld from the Nether upon the complete destruction of all major Hunt bases. As with regular Piglin invasions of villages, it will attack your allied villages nightly for a set amount of time and then retreat. Any damage successfully inflicted on them will be carried forward into the next incursion, until your armies have put it to a final rest.

The Devourer

This shambling hulk serves as the head of the Horde of the Spore (Green), pounding the ground and releasing infectious spores in its wake. The Devourer enters the Overworld from the Nether when all major Spore bases are razed. Instead of attacking villages, it builds yet another multi-tiered base that the Spore is known for, and awaits your assault. As you beat it back, it will eventually fall back to the level with the Portal for a final showdown, while restoring the entirety of its health.

The Unbreakable

Commander to the Horde of the Bastion (Yellow) and possibly the most resilient, close combat should probably be avoided with The Unbreakable. The Bastion leader leaves the Nether for the Overworld after all major Bastion bases have been eradicated. It too will erect a new base nearby, for you to take the fight to them. In a combination of tactics required against previous Piglin generals, you will not need to destroy the Portal, but instead put down The Unbreakable itself, where it stands in the center of the base. Any defensive support structures should be razed first, before the final confrontation begins.

And that concludes this guide on all allied and hostile mobs in Minecraft Legends. Use it to your advantage as you turn aside the Piglin tide.

A complete guide on currently available mounts in Minecraft Legends Guide.

The new RTS-lite set in the Minecraft universe, Minecraft Legends has several mounts to choose from in order to traverse the open world sandbox. While you cannot dismount to roam around on foot, you can simply jump from one saddle to the next. Here’s all of the currently available mounts in Minecraft Legends at the time of release.

The Horse

The starter mount, it is often mistakenly thought to have no special ability. But it does–it has unlimited stamina, allowing you to sprint continuously as you ride to and fro across the map. They can be found at the center of any village should you need to acquire one again after switching to another mount. The humble Horse can also be buffed briefly, by consuming Speed Wheat to attain a dash ability over and above the standard sprint. Bounce Shrooms will make your jump higher, in order to get over some obstacles, but beware fall damage if you leap from too high up.

The Regal Tiger

Arguably the fastest mount in Minecraft Legends, Regal Tigers instantly stand out with their striped purple shading. Their special ability is their sprint speed, allowing you to hit and run enemies, or beat a hasty retreat when things get exceptionally dicey. Unfortunately, unlike the horse, they can and do run out of stamina, and therefore need to be carefully managed to avoid being caught out in the open while exhausted. Regal Tigers can be found ambling around in the Dry Savanna and Badlands biomes, sometimes shaded in neon pink. The higher jumping benefits of Bounce Shrooms are also available to the Regal Tiger, which is especially useful since its default jump height is quite low, but do so cautiously, since it can sustain fall damage.

The Big Beak

These colorful bird mounts are almost as fast as Regal Tigers with the added versatility of being able to go airborne to some degree. Jumping higher and gliding safely to the ground is Big Beak’s special ability, and also allows you to traverse high peaks and bodies of water quickly and safely, as well as to get over defensive obstacles. Hold your designated Jump button to begin gliding after going airborne.

Expectedly, they can be found in the mountainous Jagged Peaks as well as the Swamp biomes, and can often be heard before they’re even seen due to their distinctive chirping. The Big Beak is great for getting a literal bird’s eye reconnaissance of the map, allowing you to make better plans and better decisions in battle as well. Even merely uncovering the map is made easier by gliding high through the sky, but only if you can find a high enough peak to launch off of in the first place.

The Brilliant Beetle

Definitely the slowest mount you will employ, the winged and horned Brilliant Beetle makes up for it with its adaptability to obstructions and difficult terrain. Its special ability allows you to scale any structure at all, as well as sheer terrain.

Should you fall, you can hold the designated Jump button to flap its wings and glide safely back to solid ground. Of the relatively land-bound mounts it is also the quickest at traversing water. Brilliant Beetles can be found in the Jungle and Forest biomes. The Beetle is probably your best bet when assaulting multi-leveled Piglin bases, negating the value of their structural defense layout.

Locating Mounts

Given the procedurally generated nature of Minecraft Legends maps, there is no definitive method to pinpoint the location of absolutely anything in the game, mounts included. There are clues though. Begin by heading to the relevant biome.

As you explore it, a question mark will appear on the map, if you are in the vicinity of a secret. It may not necessarily be a mount, but if it is, it will turn to the relevant mount’s icon as you inch closer. Very rarely, the locator might place the mount at the very outskirts of the biome, or even in a neighboring one, so be vigilant.

PVP Mounts Location

In multiplayer PvP, as opposed to the campaign and co-op, mounts can be found in any biome, and not just their native one. Mounts can make all the difference between victory and defeat in PvP, so try to acquire the one that suits your role in the team as soon as possible.

Swapping Mounts

Changing mounts is as simple as riding up to one, getting close enough to display the “Swap Mounts” command on them. Hold the designated button and you will hop right on, then and there. All of the mounts you leave can be rallied to ride alongside you, letting you swap around as the situation demands.

If you choose to leave them behind entirely, they will be available to you at any Well Of Fate, or at the center of a liberated village, near the fountain, when you spawn or teleport in. Even after unlocking them the first time, you can continue to befriend and ride mounts in the wild, as and when you stumble upon them.

Skins

Besides the default skin for each mount, there are also some mount skins to be bought in the respective marketplace stores, as well as potentially awarded for participation in the Lost Legends challenge mode, though there hasn’t been one on offer in the latter so far. The skins currently available are:

Chestnut Horse

Bluebill Big Beak

Flaming Carapace Beetle

Coral Tiger

And that’s the rundown on all the currently available Minecraft Legends mounts and their abilities. Ride to victory!

The strategy title's first update is also available, improving performance on Nintendo Switch and matchmaking while fixing crashes.

Blackbird Interactive’s Minecraft Legends may not have earned the most critical praise, but it still did above average (check out our review here). Nevertheless, it is Minecraft-related, and on Game Pass, so it’s no surprise that Mojang has reported over three million players since launch.

The first update is also available, adding several improvements to matchmaking. The timer for starting a matchmade game is ten seconds instead of 60, and matches start “much faster” when a public lobby has six players. Magma Cubes also won’t spam annoying audio when hitting other units.

Other fixes are available for crashes during gameplay, when the game launches, when the Campaign starts, and more. Nintendo Switch players can also rejoice because input latency and the speed of world loading have been improved, on top of other performance improvements. Check out the full patch notes below.

Minecraft Legends is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Do you want to perform better in the PvP mode of Minecraft Legends? Our guide has you covered.

In addition to its four player co-operative campaign mode, Minecraft Legends also has an engaging 4v4 (maximum; 3v3 minimum in public match-making) multiplayer experience that can be fairly complex to play and emerge victorious. Some of the mechanics are slightly different from the campaign, and gameplay requires coordination with team mates far more than other multiplayer RTS games. In order to dominate the PvP game mode in Minecraft Legends, you’re going to need these tips, tricks, and tactics.

The Basics

Specify teammate roles explicitly before you even begin, as every team member should know exactly what is expected of them in the scheme of things, be it resource gathering, defense construction, scouting, or farming enemies. There is a symbiosis between allied players that must be maintained for maximum efficiency, such that bottlenecks don’t occur and have a cascading effect on the entire group. There can be some overlap between roles, such as the designated miner also handling base defense construction, allowing two players to undertake reconnaissance instead of one.

Good communication goes hand-in-hand with good teamwork, and team mates bickering or talking over each other should be a no no at all times. Droning on over the voice chat when there is important information to be conveyed like resource location or enemy position is more often than not what gets teams nuked by opponents. Divided you fall.

Remember that the counts for Troops, Allays, and Supplies are all shared between allies.

Maximize mining basic resources early on, because while Wood and Stone are crucial for expansion and construction, you are limited to just three Gather Allays per player in PvP, and can neither recruit more nor hope to find any in Chests like in the campaign. Once deployed on a mining task, they cannot be given further instructions until they strip the indicated zone completely. Make an informed choice on the value of a particular mining location by observing the number in the bottom left corner as you hover the mining order cursor over various spots in the world. Micromanage the Allays so that there’s never any downtime once they’ve completed strip-mining an area.

Build an arrow tower or two as soon as possible. These will hold off any initial probes of your base, as well as Piglin incursions.

Scout specifically for the NPC Piglins and their bases. Not only are they a source for Prismarine, which could just as easily fall into the enemy team’s hands, but the bases themselves can also be a thorn in your own team’s side, weakening your defenses with random assaults. So deny the enemy a resource, as well as unintended aid from NPC armies.

Chests in the wild can give you much needed resource boosts, both basic and advanced, and a significant leg up against the enemy team, especially if they’re relying on gathering their resources with just Allays. There also appear to be far more Chests in PvP than in the campaign. Actively try to deny the enemy any Chests that are located in their proximity, if you’ve already located their base.

Acquire another mount. While the default Horse mount is just fine and has limitless stamina, it remains the weakest of the four currently available mounts in Minecraft Legends. Keep a sharp lookout for other mounts while doing reconnaissance as they can be found scattered about on the map just like in the campaign. If you’re lucky enough, there might be a spawn right near your base, and not necessarily in their native biomes either, unlike the campaign where only certain zones guarantee the chance of a mount spawning. A good mount can be the difference between victory and defeat, depending on your playstyle. Regal Tiger lends itself to speedy reconnaissance as well as hit and run strikes. Big Beak can traverse difficult terrain, and is also good for a scout. And Brilliant Beetle can scale enemy defensive structures, negating their value entirely.

Being procedurally generated, the maps will never be the same, and your team will have to evolve and adapt to bad spawns or a lack of useful resources in the starting zone.

Even though this is a PvP mode, don’t forget to farm the NPCs. Piglins are your primary source of Lapis and Prismarine, both of which are necessary resources for all manner of advanced upgrades.

Build an Improvement Hub sooner rather than later. Unlocks advanced resources like Coal, Iron, and Redstone, as well as the Firsts, and a critical siege weapon in the form of the Redstone Launcher that might help make quick work of the enemy Well of Fates.

Keep in mind that Wellhouses allow you to Fast Travel back to base. In the inevitable event of an attack on your home base, your presence there can make all the difference, even if you already have defensive structures like arrow towers in place.

Advanced Tactics

Scout as much of the enemy base as possible. Knowing the layout beforehand instead of riding in blind and headfirst into defensive towers, will get your forces annihilated, especially somewhat vulnerable mobs such as Creepers. It can also help determine which mobs to bring in the first place, with Skeletons ideal for walled-in bases, and Cobblestone Golems a perfect match for building demolition.

Build Forward Bases. These are just mini-bases with relatively cheap structures but also some utility such as Spawners. Construct them along the most obvious route between previously scouted enemy bases and your own main base, including just outside your own perimeter walls. These will serve both to replenish your forces closer to the battlefield as they get killed in combat, but also as an early warning system when the enemy inevitably marches on your own home base and is distracted into attacking these decoy structures.

If you catch an enemy player out in the open, you should definitely target them for attack, as both they and you can be killed, even if only temporarily.

As you expand the defensive ring around your base, create labyrinths and bottlenecks, so that the enemy gets bogged down in congested paths on their way to your primary structures. If they can be caught in the overlapping crossfire of defensive towers, then all the better for it. Build a Masonry as well, which will permanently upgrade walls, gates, and towers to stone thus significantly buffing their hit points and raising their overall durability.

When assaulting the enemy base, keep in mind which structures confer bonuses to building HP, and target them first, such as the carpenter and improvement hubs.

Your enemy base siege assault force should consist of the best mobs and tools to deal damage to buildings. Creepers, Cobblestone Golems, and Redstone Launchers. Be sure to stockpile Redstone early on. As a matter of fact, you should do so even if you don’t go the Redstone Launcher route, simply to deny the enemy the opportunity. Be concerned if you receive any indication that the enemy has acquired the Redstone improvement, as that means a Redstone Launcher could well be fielded against you.

Minecraft Legends allows unrestricted crossplay support on all platforms where the game is available. Finding teammates across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch should be no problem at all and needs nothing more than a free Microsoft account. Private games need players to be friended first in order to invite each other. So, make allies, and win battles!

A complete guide on finding Lapis in Minecraft Legends.

In Minecraft Legends, Lapis Lazuli is a critical resource for spawning a majority of the allied mobs. Unlike most of the other resources such as wood, stone, and iron, it is not mineable from blocks in the world. Here are the only known avenues for accumulating Lapis in Minecraft Legends.

Piglins

While demolishing Piglin structures causes Prismarine to drop, killing Piglins themselves drops Lapis. Raiding bases and losing troops in the bargain can lead to diminishing returns on Lapis farming, so it is recommended that you pursue smaller Outposts, Piglin Patrols, and defeat Piglin raids on villages and the homesteads of allied mobs. The latter has the additional effect of spawning a replenishing chest that accumulates Lapis slowly over time, as well as other random resources, and that is located near the fountain after rescuing the village.

Chests

While not as reliable a source as Piglin-slaying, Chests carry a good chance of dropping Lapis as a reward when opened. These can be stumbled upon throughout the world, in addition to the aforementioned Village fountain Chests. There is an element of randomness to non-village chests however, as anything and everything but Lapis could also drop, including Allays and Gold among others.

Tip: Construct the Improvement: Shared Village Chests. It will pool the resources accumulated in all liberated village chests across the world map, allowing you to visit just one in order to collect them all.

Lapis Flag

In PvP multiplayer, a structure called the Lapis Flag can be found under Player Building Melodies, and can be constructed to enhance the slow and steady drip of Lapis to the entire team. Each flag itself costs 25 Lapis, 100 Prismarine, and 300 Stone, and as many flags as needed can be constructed. They are also destructible, so be sure to defend them from attack, especially given the resources that have to be poured into their construction.

As resources go, Lapis Lazuli is one of the easiest to farm, once you get a good rhythm going, so farm away!
