Major League Baseball 2K12 features a new dynamic ratings system designed to enhance the battle at the plate; revamped throwing system that makes fielding more realistic; new hit distribution system that allows for more varied and realistic hits; and an enhanced My Player mode. Additionally, this year 2K Sports announces the all-new MLB Today Season Mode that lets players complete an entire season at the same pace as their favorite MLB team. Using the powerful MLB Today engine, fans can track and compare their stats and record to their real-life counterparts. Gamers can play through their team’s real schedule, one game a day, and see if they can play their way to a World Series title.

2K Sports announced that a demo of Major League Baseball 2K12 is now available on the Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network.

The demo allows players to relive 2011’s thrilling, back-and-forth World Series and play three innings as the Texas Rangers or St. Louis Cardinals. In addition, it showcases many of MLB 2K12’s improved features, including the dynamic tendencies system that adjusts pitcher and batter ratings as the game unfolds; a revamped throwing system; and a new hit distribution system with more varied and realistic hit types.

MLB 2K12 will be available March 6, 2012.

MLB 2K12, developed by Visual Concepts, releases on March 6 for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP, PS2, DS and Wii. Stay tuned for continued coverage.

It’s that time of the season again, where MLB: The Show and MLB 2k series go head-to-head.

We know which one will turn out as the better game, but for those who don’t have a PS3, MLB 2k is a great alternative.

This year’s game called MLB 2k12 looks awesome, and you can check out the first trailer from the game below.
