A complete guide to all the settings in MLB The Show 23.

This year’s installment of MLB: The Show is out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One Series X|S, and Switch, and spoils players for choice with how they can fine tune their playtime with the game. Here are the best options for hitting, fielding, and pitching in MLB: The Show 23, as well as your best bet at hitting one out of the park.

Hitting Style Settings

There are three different types of Swing Input in the Settings, and these determine what exactly must be pressed or pulled to initiate a swing of the bat.

Buttons, one for each of the three types of swing:

Contact Swing: Circle (PS), B (XB)

Normal Swing: X (PS), A (XB)

Power Swing: Square (PS), X (XB)

Analog Sticks, where pushing in one of the four cardinal directions determines swing type:

Contact Swing: Right Stick Up

Normal Swing: Right Stick Left or Right

Power Swing: Right Stick Down, then flick Up

Analog Stride, using both buttons and sticks in conjunction, where swing type is pre-determined by you using the buttons before the pitch is thrown, and then using the sticks to time the swing just right

Cue Contact Swing before pitch delivery: Circle (PS), B (XB)

Cue Normal Swing before pitch delivery: X (PS), A (XB)

Cue Power Swing before pitch delivery: Square (PS), X (XB)

Swing: Right Stick Down to begin batter stride followed by RS Up to initiate swing

While Analog Stride is the most rewarding, it is also obviously the hardest, and the effort would be better served being put into mastering the Hitting Interfaces, and simply using the Buttons for Swing Input.

There are three different types of Hitting Interface, in order of difficulty:

Timing, the simplest, is merely a matter of pressing the button corresponding to the swing type of your choosing. Recommended for beginners and casual players, this one’s results are random and cannot be controlled by you. There isn’t any surefire timing to getting a home run, and you’ll barely get much distance on ground balls.

Directional, combines timing with letting you observe where the incoming pitch is going to be in the strike zone and then using the left stick to determine ball flight post-hit. A good bridge to the Zone method. Recommend turning off the jarring Directional Camera Shifting under Settings, to spare your senses

Zone, is what players should evolve to eventually. A complex system with several settings to tweak aesthetically, Zone allows hitters to actively determine where the bat is going to swing in real time, through the use of the Plate Coverage Indicator (PCI). Timing remains a factor, as does swing type, but this Hitting Interface gives the player absolute control over hitting pitches. An onscreen reticle consisting of two pairs of concentric arcs can be positioned within the PCI at your discretion. Ideally, having the ball fly within the smaller, inner pair will produce the best result. Vertical placement will determine where your batted balls go: aiming low produces pop-ups, while aiming high results in ground balls. Post-contact with the ball, an inset will appear in the bottom left displaying immediate feedback on your swing and timing, as well as how accurate you were with your PCI placement of the reticle using a snapshot of the PCI, the reticle, and the final position of the ball itself.

How To Hit A Homerun

Tip the scales in your favor for hitting a homer out of the park, by tweaking the control and visual interface settings of your game:

Avoid the catcher camera, and choose between one of the strike zone cameras instead, preferably one that’s tight up against the batter, and magnifies the pitcher to the maximum on screen. With the strike zone filling your screen, it’s far easier to see the incoming pitch, and react accordingly

Tweak the onscreen display of the PCI to your liking, so that its colors are easy to see and indicators easy to interpret. Disable PCI Fadeout, so you can quickly assess your hits and misses

Use the Analog Stride Swing Input method in conjunction with the Zone Hitting Interface to exert complete and absolute control over your swings

Fielding Style Settings

Introduced for the first time this year in MLB: The Show 23 is the new Button Accuracy Throwing Interface. It is one of three Throwing Interfaces available:

Buttons where the four bases of a baseball diamond correspond perfectly to the face buttons on the controllers

Throw to Cutoff: L1 (PS), LB (XB)

Throw to Home: X (PS), A (XB)

Throw to 1st Base: Circle (PS), B (XB)

Throw to 2nd Base: Triangle (PS), Y (XB)

Throw to 3rd Base: Square (PS), X (XB)

Analog where directional pushing on the right thumbstick corresponds to bases on the diamond. Both Buttons and Analog rely solely on the statistical value of the fielder’s Arm Accuracy attribute, rather than any player intervention

Button Accuracy gives players full control over fielding with quick-reaction minigame overlays for fly balls and throw meters for catching runners out at bases.

For fly balls, once the ball is in flight, a visual indicator of a large baseball appears on the field, getting smaller and smaller as it approaches the ground, giving you enough time to position your outfielder in its center, in order to catch the ball. If the ball is predicted to land near the outfield wall, a trio of yellow chevrons pointing upward will appear at the location. As the ball heads to the ground, each chevron will turn green in succession. Catch the ball, using Jump by pressing R2 (PS) or RT (XB), when all three are green.

The Throw Meter is an onscreen indicator depicted as a quadrant gauge over a fielder, and consists of a needle that moves over three colors: green, sandwiched by yellow on either side, and red on either side of yellow until the ends. Throwing on green is ideal, with red being the obvious worst choice. As for throwing on yellow, the fumbling mechanics have changed this year, and instead of being an almost certain failure all the time, statistically good basemen can and will recover from bad throws by picking up the ball out of the dirt. Also new this year: the color spectrum on the gauge isn’t centered perfectly, and can move from one extreme end to the other, making the minigame somewhat dynamic and challenging in nature.

In the outfield, the Throw Meter dynamics change again. Yellow is eliminated, and green narrows even more. This represents the long distance throwing involved. Centered within the green is an even narrower blue sliver, which represents the very best accuracy that can be achieved while throwing the ball all the way back to base.

Pitching Style Settings

Of the five available pitching styles available to players, one stands out as the majority favorite for complete control of pitches: Pinpoint. Expectedly, it is also the hardest to master, with perfect dual thumbstick control being necessary in order to achieve the perfect pitch. Begin by moving the left analog stick to aim, and then use the right analog stick to play a minigame inside of a small circular overlay.

The mechanic requires you to follow a specific path at a specific speed and then hit two blue circles consecutively with the thumbstick. The path shapes correspond to pitch types–e.g. a straight line for a fastball–while the circles can be anywhere within the overlay, and also pulse in size. Hitting the circles at their smallest is the goal, for achieving greater accuracy.

While thumbstick speed and timing is critical for tracing the path and tagging the first circle, it is NOT required for hitting the second circle. Rather than randomly flicking at it in a panic, take a breath, and time it to release your pitch correctly.

Here’s a quick rundown on the other pitch styles:

Classic is the oldest of old-school pitching implementations, from every baseball game ever, going back decades. First select the pitch type using X, Circle, Square, Triangle, R1 (PS) or A, B, X, Y, RB (XB), then aim using the left stick. Initiate the throw using X (PS) or A (XB), and let the player statistics determine the result.

Meter is a simple minigame-based pitch style similar to those in other game genres that involve fishing or golfing. After selecting a pitch type, a meter in the shape of a quadrant circle will appear on screen. Set aim, and then begin a sequence of three button presses to throw the pitch: the first to initiate the needle on the meter, the second to set power, and the third to determine accuracy. What makes it hard is how slender the margins and timings are for executing it correctly, exacerbated by the effects of ever-decreasing pitcher stamina, as the inning wears on

Pure Analog is accomplished in a similar manner to the dual thumbstick system of Pinpoint but without the complex tracing minigame. Select pitch type, aim the reticle with the left stick, draw back the right stick on the onscreen power meter in order to hit the needle, and then flick it back up towards the reticle when it does. This requires accurately matching the final resting positions of both left and right thumbsticks

Pulse is next in simplicity to Classic, but is the most annoying of pitch styles. In a manner reminiscent of bullet spread reticle mechanics which expand or shrink to determine accuracy, this aiming overlay simply pulses both rapidly and incessantly with no nuance in rhythm. It requires nothing more than timing a button press just right, i.e when the circle has contracted to its smallest. As with Classic, there is no velocity control to be exerted.

Enjoy this year’s outing of MLB: The Show!

The Show maintains its place atop the sports games landscape.

MLB The Show is one of the stalwart sports game franchises in all of gaming. Sony San Diego has found and continued to perfect a core game that feels consistently good to play and strikes a delicate balance between making you feel like you’re a part of the game and ensuring you understand how difficult it is to be a major league ballplayer. With MLB The Show 23, the franchise continues with another strong entry, if it doesn’t make any huge changes. The inclusion of the Negro Leagues Storylines mode, which covers the history and key players of the Negro Leagues and allows you to play through some of their greatest moments, is a great addition for those who are particularly interested in the history of the game, and it marks the most significant addition to The Show in a few years. Otherwise, even though MLB The Show 23 doesn’t make many notable changes aside from some gameplay tweaks, it continues to be a great baseball game with a wide array of modes and the tightest, most satisfying baseball gameplay you’ll play.

"Even though MLB The Show 23 doesn’t make many notable changes aside from some gameplay tweaks, it continues to be a great baseball game with a wide array of modes and the tightest, most satisfying baseball gameplay you’ll play."

The ability of a sports game to make you feel like you’re an integral part of the experience in multiple unique ways is among its most important jobs, and there’s no game that realizes that opportunity quite like The Show. Over time, Sony San Diego has introduced a slew of new game modes that vary the experience and allow you to experience baseball in a bunch of different ways. What’s startling about The Show is how equally fun each game mode is. Franchise mode and Road to the Show, of course, are classics, but a mode like March to October continues to be one of the more enjoyable modes in any sports game, as it fuses the best parts of team management and individual player performance. Even Diamond Dynasty, The Show’s answer to FIFA’s Ultimate Team, is still my favorite card collecting, team building mode in any sports game. Its variety of different offline and online gameplay experiences give you a real ability to improve your team without having to get smacked by online players every time. I also have to shout out Conquest mode, which, while not new, is my main reason for coming back to Diamond Dynasty.

The thing is that none of these modes have really changed year over year. If you played any of these modes in MLB The Show 22, you’ll feel like you jumped right back into the fray with a handful of tweaks here and there. Road to the Show, even with its increased ability to model yourself after Shohei Ohtani and live out the dream of being the league’s next two-way player, continues to feel relatively stagnant from last year and years prior, and I’m starting to lose the desire to make my way from double-A all the way up to the big leagues. Franchise and March to October, too, haven’t seen many tweaks or upgrades and are effectively the same experience as they’ve been before.

The key addition to MLB The Show 23 is a new game mode called “Storylines,” an in-depth look at the history of the Negro Leagues and an opportunity to play through the biggest moments of the careers of ten key players from the Negro Leagues, with more promised over future games. This is a fantastic installment both for the love of the game and the education of its fans, many of whom most likely aren’t aware of the key players the way they would be of comparable MLB players. Of course, you can play through the rise and barrier breaking of the great Jackie Robinson or the all-time great pitching of Satchel Paige, but you can also learn about other players that I, admittedly, wasn’t as familiar with, like Rube Foster or Hilton Smith.

"The Storylines mode is a fantastic addition both for the love of the game and the education of its fans, many of whom most likely aren’t aware of the key players the way they would be of comparable MLB players."

Sony San Diego partnered with the real Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and provides a documentary-style view into these players’ careers, narrated by the Museum’s president Bob Kendrick. It’s a fascinating view that gives great insight to the impact these players had and how great they really were. Each player also has a ten-part story thread that allows you to play through some of their biggest moments. For Jackie Robinson, for example, you get to play the game in which he started for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

The actual gameplay of the Storylines mode is a bit more mundane, though still interesting and relatively varied. You don’t get to play the full games; instead, you have to complete increasingly difficult tasks within single games. For Jackie Robinson, it starts with getting one hit and moves to getting multiple hits in a game, getting on base, or stealing a base. On the pitching side, it’s frequently about pitching scoreless innings or getting strikeouts, sometimes with specific pitch arsenals like Rube Foster’s screwball. If there is one negative about the Storylines mode, it’s that each level can, on a gameplay level, become a bit repetitive if you play them too quickly. With that said, it’s fascinating even just to see the aesthetics of the game at the time, from the eye-popping uniforms to Satchel Paige’s long windup. It’s worth it, though, as by the end you’ll have learned a lot about the history of baseball, and you’ll have gotten a few handy Diamond Dynasty cards in the process.

On an overall gameplay level, there have been a few noticeable tweaks that make batting and pitching a slight step up from last year. While batting, it feels like the Perfect-Perfect outcomes, which frequently result in home runs or hard-hit line drives, happen slightly more often, and on the DualSense controller, these hits are among the best experiences in the game. Pitching, too, feels slightly more precise. I tend to use Pinpoint Pitching, which feels both smoother and more understandable this time around. I felt as though I knew any time my timing was off, and I began to hit 100% accuracy more frequently than ever before. It’s worth noting that while the rosters have been updated alongside most of the new rules the MLB is implementing this year, including the elimination of the shift, there’s a glaring omission of the pitch clock. It isn’t quite as impactful to the video game as it will be to the on-field game, but my ability to pick off as many times as I want or take as long as possible on the mound felt a bit off compared to what’s happening in the league right now.

"MLB The Show has become one of the premier sports games on the market because of its fantastic gameplay and wide array of enjoyable modes, and The Show 23 doesn’t do anything to slow it down."

In a lot of ways, MLB The Show 23 feels like a slightly upgraded version of MLB The Show 22. Each of the existing game modes feel almost identical to past years, which is to say still incredibly fun, if not as revolutionary. The addition of the Storylines mode and the in-depth look at the real history of the Negro Leagues and its greatest players is a fantastic addition that adds a slightly varied new gameplay style alongside a great platform for learning about the history of the game. Regardless, MLB The Show has become one of the premier sports games on the market because of its fantastic gameplay and wide array of enjoyable modes, and The Show 23 doesn’t do anything to slow it down.

New details about the defensive and offensive aspects of the upcoming baseball sim's gameplay have been showcased in a new trailer.

Sony has given us our first look at upcoming baseball game MLB The Show 23 with a new gameplay trailer. The company has also revealed quite a few details about the game with a comprehensive post on the official PlayStation blog.

When it comes to defense, according to Sony, fielding attributes now matter more than they did in previous iterations. The difference between players with a disparity in their fielding attributes will now be more obvious, and players with lower fielding attributes will have worse transition animations when contact is made off the bat.

For the throwing interface, the buttons and analog option now relies more heavily on the player’s Arm Accuracy attribute. MLB The Show 23 now also features two new quirks: Break Outlier and Pick Off Artist. A pitcher with the Break Outlier quirk loses their break at a slower rate. One with the Pick Off Artist quirk has twice the chance of a successful pick-off.

On the offensive side of things, fans of both Casual and Simulation can expect tuned and balanced gameplay styles. Replacing the Contact attribute is the new Clutch attribute, which will battle against the pitcher’s PitcherClutch attribute.

Offense also gets two new quirks: Bad Ball Hitter and Table Setter. Batters with Bad Ball Hitter are great at hitting pitches outside the strike zone. Batters with Table Setter excel when there are no runners on base.

The blog post goes into more details on various aspects of MLB The Show 23, such as updates to the animation systems, updates to gameplay styles, and swing feedback.

MLB The Show 23 is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on March 28.

Despite being almost a decade old at this point, the PS4 and Xbox One still continue to be a great option to experience the latest in gaming.

It has been more than 2 years since Sony and Microsoft released the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, ushering a new era of console gaming. While fans have been treated to plenty of compelling experiences on these new platforms, the transition period hasn’t been the smoothest largely due to the pandemic affecting development cycles for games and global semiconductor shortage causing severe supply issues for these machines. This is why so many developers are still choosing to release their games for PS4 and Xbox One, and this feature will detail 25 such games.

Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise enjoyed a great critical and commercial reception on the Nintendo Switch, and naturally – fans on other systems wanted a chance to experience this latest entry in the long running saga. The developer has delivered just that with the subsequent release of Monster Hunter Rise on PS4 and Xbox One, and the Sunbreak expansion for the same is set to follow soon. The base game released on January 20 this year, so interested fans can already try it out.

Deliver Us Mars

KeokeN delivered an excellent adventure in the form of Deliver Us the Moon, and fans are naturally curious about the next project from the developer. Deliver Us Mars will be expanding upon the strengths of its predecessor, and fans can expect a more engaging gameplay loop this time around with better exploration options and clever puzzles among other improvements. Deliver Us Mars released on 2 February 2023 for PC and all last gen and current gen consoles.

Little Devil Inside

Little Devil Inside caught the attention of many players with its intriguing premise and fresh art style, and we are really excited for this game as well. Players will be embarking on a grand adventure spanning multiple areas, and you will be tasked with hunting down hideous beasts of different shapes and sizes. It’s been in development for some time now, and we are still waiting on its release date at the time of writing this feature.

Wanted: Dead

Wanted: Dead looks like a thunderous throwback to middle market action adventure games of the PS2 era, and we are here for it. Currently in development at Soleil, Wanted: Dead thrusts players into a conspiracy tale and asks them to use their wits and swords to crawl out of the many dangers that punctuate this adventure. The action is brutal, with fast and frenetic gunfights and melee finishers making for a dynamic gameplay loop that should be a joy to engage with. It is set to release on 14th February, 2023 for PC and current-gen and last-gen consoles.

Atomic Heart

Set against the backdrop of an alternate history Soviet Union, Atomic Heart tells the story of Agent P-3 fighting back against the machines that are posing a threat to the existence of humankind. Players will have plenty of options when it comes to dealing with enemies. You could use your guns, a handcrafted melee weapon, or supernatural powers like telekinesis to clear your way through the varied hordes of machines in this one hell of an adventure. Atomic Heart releases for PC and consoles on 21 February, 2023.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is one of the most underrated games in the Yakuza franchise, and that largely comes down to the game being available only in Japan. Now though, R.G.G. Studio is working on bringing this cult classic to a global audience with a full fledged remake of Like a Dragon: Ishin! The project is being built using Unreal Engine 4, and players can expect a ton of gameplay overhauls in addition to the visual facelift which should make this remake a worthwhile experience. It will be released on 17 February 2023 for PC and last gen and current gen consoles.

Scars Above

Scars Above is set in a mysterious alien structure, and you assume the role of a scientist who finds herself trapped in this hostile environment. You must use everything at your disposal to find a way out of this environment while engaging in a deeper mystery revolving around this structure. The developers have stated that the gameplay will be a challenging affair, so you will have to make judicial use of your firepower and abilities to get through tough enemy encounters. It releases for PC, last gen, and current gen consoles on February 28.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a modern remake of the 2008 classic by the same name. This adventure pits the famous detective against grotesque monsters and otherworldly threats inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulu’s mythos. Much like Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, you will have to collect clues to build up to a conclusion in order to get to the epicenter of this mystery which should be a fun time for fans of the franchise. It releases for all major consoles and PC sometime during Q1 2023.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Team Ninja has done a wonderful job with Nioh and its sequel, so it stands to reason that the hype for its spiritual successor Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is off the charts. You assume the role of a warrior as he rises from a nobody to a legend, and that journey is filled to the brim with plenty of tough boss fights set against varied locales. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will feature a dynamic combat loop where players can mix and match different weapons, Elemental beasts, and other tactics to defeat enemies. Suffice to say, it looks amazing. It releases for PC and all current gen and last gen console platforms on 3 March 2023.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

Koei Tecmo has been doing a great job with the Fatal Frame remasters, which have proven to be the best way to experience these classics on modern platforms. The developer is hard at work on remastering the 2008 Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, which will modernize the gameplay along with new additions like a photo mode, new costumes and of course updated visuals. It will be released on March 8 2023 for all major console platforms and PC.

WWE 2K23

After a rough last couple of years, the WWE games made a grand return with WWE 2k22 which proved to be a solid experience with plenty of highs along with few apparent flaws. This year’s entry will feature improved graphics, better gameplay, and the showcase mode will be putting the spotlight on popular wrestler John Cena. It releases for all major last gen and current gen console platforms and PC on March 17 2023 though fans opting for the Deluxe Edition will get early access on March 14 2023.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 is considered by many to be one of the best games in this long running survival horror franchise, and for good reason. Resident Evil 4 features a solid and enjoyable gameplay loop with plenty of variety amongst its levels, and the game has surprisingly stood the test of time so many years after its release. The developer is hard at work on a full fledged remake of this classic which would open this gem up to a broader audience, and fans can expect many new additions including but not limited to new side quests and new weapons. It releases for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 24 2023.

System Shock Remake

System Shock is easily one of the most influential games when it comes to immersive sims, and countless fans would have fond memories of carefully inching their way through the game’s corridors while the rogue AI SHODAN plots its next move. Those fans and many newcomers will get a chance to experience this classic in a new light with Nightdive’s remake of System Shock, which will add modern gameplay conveniences alongside better visuals. It releases for all major consoles and PC sometime in March 2023.

Street Fighter 6

The beloved fighting series is making a grand return with Street Fighter 6, which is bringing a ton of new things to the table. But the star of the show is undoubtedly the move to an open world in the form of World Tour mode, which should hopefully open up new avenues for gameplay. This entry will also be adding a commentary system alongside the usual PvE and PvP content that one would expect from a game of this ilk. It will be released for all major consoles and PC on June 2 2023.

MLB: The Show 23

MLB: The Show 22 was a great game, and this year’s entry is set to bring better visuals and marginal gameplay improvements to this well established formula. While not a lot has changed with MLB: The Show 23, fans of annualized sports releases know this and they are there for it. It releases for all major consoles on March 28, and preorders for the same are live now.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure released to great critical and commercial acclaim in 2011, but the game was exclusive to the Japanese region with no English support available. While fan made patches have been around for some time now, the developer is working on an official global release for the game with English language support – and it is scheduled to release for all major last gen and current gen consoles and PC on March 14 2023.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie

Much like Trails to Azure that we discussed previously, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is also being introduced to a global audience with a re-release. Players will be taking control of a group of warriors as they embark on a grand adventure in this fantastical realm, and you will be able to freely change between characters with the Crossroads system. The combat is largely rooted in turn based traditions, but the developers have stated that it will have a lot of dynamic elements to it which should make it more engaging than before. Trails into Reverie releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on July 7 2023

Lies of P

NEOWIZ’s upcoming Lies of P is based on the popular story of Pinocchio, but it takes place in a dark fantasy world filled to the brim with all kinds of hostile threats. And you must best these threats in the game’s Soulslike combat to complete your quest to become human once again. Players will be able to attach equipments like flamethrowers on their bodies to help in battle, and you can also unlock different skills to expand your moveset before facing the toughest foes in the game. Lies of P will release for all major consoles and PC sometime this year.

Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon

FromSoftware is returning to this long forgotten franchise with Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon, which is set to usher in a new era for this mecha brawler series. Players will once again be customizing their mechs with different weapons and abilities to get through enemies and bosses, which will obviously be challenging like the Souls games. Of course, fans are really excited to see FromSoft’s new take on this franchise and hopefully we won’t have to wait long. Armored Core 6 is probably set to release sometime this year for all major console platforms and PC.

Crash Team Rumble

In development at Toys for Bob, Crash Team Rumble is a multiplayer game with a simple goal that is to capture more Wumpa fruit than the opponent. Matches will take place between 2 teams of 4 players, and the maps are going to be elaborate platforming jungle gyms complete with level specific obstacles and opportunities to grab more fruit. The game modes seem rooted in genre traditions like CTF and free for all, but it looks like a fun time regardless. Crash Team Rumble will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles sometime this year.

Minecraft Legends

Minecraft Legends is a strategy game set against the backdrop of this popular universe. You will have to command your army against entire fortresses, and it looks like a really fun time. It will be released for all major console platforms and PC on April 18 2023.

Lord of The Rings: Gollum

Set against the backdrop of a fantasy universe, Lord of the Rings: Gollum will put players in the shoes of Gollum as he navigates through this world while dealing with its split personality disorder. The gameplay will have stealth as a major focus, and Gollum will also be able to use its agility to climb and get around environments with relative ease. It looks like a promising project, and it is set to release for all major consoles and PC sometime this year.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is one of the more interesting games on the list, mostly because it has had a turbulent development cycle lasting almost 15 years and counting. It’s obviously a pretty ambitious project with a lot of moving parts, but with departures and delays left right and center it looks highly unlikely that the game will see the light of day anytime soon. While it’s officially slated to release for PS4 and Xbox One, only time will tell whether the developer will release this game for these decade old machines or not – if it manages to reach the finish line.

Dead Island 2

Much like Beyond Good and Evil 2, Dead Island 2 is also famous for its infamous development cycle. But thankfully, the game has managed to crawl out from the depths of its development hell and is finally approaching its imminent release of 28th April 2023. Dead Island 2 will feature the same brutal melee combat that fans love along with RPG esque progression mechanics and support for co-op gameplay – and we will be diving into this game when it launches.

The Wolf Among Us 2

The Wolf Among Us is considered by many fans to be one of Telltale’s finest works to date, which is why fans are extremely hyped at the prospect of a sequel. The Wolf Among Us 2 is being developed with the assistance of AdHoc studio, and expectations are naturally high from this project. While we don’t know much about the story side of things at the moment, we know that this game will be released in full unlike the last entry which was released in an episodic fashion. The Wolf Among Us 2 is set to release for all major last gen and current gen console platforms sometime this year.
