<p>Mods that add new systems to existing games by tacking them onto the framework of the existing mechanics, or mods that completely revamp how a game looks, are fairly uncommon in and of themselves- which is to be expected, given just how much work those assuredly entail. So when we have a mod that does both &#8211; revamps the visuals, <em>and</em> completely rewrites the game&#8217;s gameplay &#8211; it&#8217;s something to sit up and take notice of, that&#8217;s for sure. Especially when it is done for a game as massive as GTA 5.</p>
<p>But that&#8217;s exactly what the new <a href="http://thepinnacleofv.com/" target="_blank">The Pinnacle of V</a>, a new mod that reworks Rockstar&#8217;s magnum opus from the ground up, does. The graphics are more saturated, more colorful, going for a brighter, slightly more stylized look than the original. At the same time, it also completely cleans up the game&#8217;s textures.</p>
<p>In addition to all of this, The Pinnacle also completely reworks vehicle and weapon handling systems, increases the game&#8217;s population count, adds a brand new system to engineer spontaneous gang and police fights on the streets to add an element of emergent gameplay, adds newly destructible scenery, and more.</p>

<p>The Survivor 2299 is enough to evoke reactions of anger and crushed dreams. It was a fake teaser site devoted to Fallout 4 but had nothing to do with the franchise. When Bethesda&#8217;s Pete Hines came out and outright called it a <a title="Fallout 4 “TheSurvivor2299″ Site Is an Elaborate Hoax" href="https://gamingbolt.com/fallout-4-thesurvivor2299-site-is-an-elaborate-hoax">fake</a>, dreams were dashed.</p>
<p>But now The Survivor 2299 is coming back and seemingly as a mod for Fallout 3. This was pointed out by a user on <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/208c6r/the_survivor_2299_is_back/">Reddit</a> and the original site creator <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/208c6r/the_survivor_2299_is_back/cg0xnwa">chimed in</a> to offer his take.</p>
<p>&#8220;Don&#8217;t worry it&#8217;s nothing related to Fallout 4. We&#8217;re using it for the mod. Don&#8217;t get fooled twice. I didn&#8217;t release TS2299 fan-fiction yet because we&#8217;re making this mod and I don&#8217;t want to spoil the fun. Finally we resolved all LOD and Height map related bugs in geck (sort of &#8211; there&#8217;s still some issues with textures in interiors) so developing is much faster.&#8221;</p>
<p>But the question is: Will this be another fake-out? And will we ever get information on Fallout 4? Stay tuned.</p>

<p>There are plenty of ambitious mods and quest packs for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, even after all this time, but none more ambitious at this time than Skywind. The mod aims to recreate the third Elder Scrolls game, Morrowind, in full detail using the Skyrim engine. A new video for the game has been released today and showcases some of the improvements made to the mod along with some of the combat. Check it out above.</p>
<p>As of now, the public build doesn&#8217;t have a lot of these improvements and they&#8217;ll be available in the upcoming 0.9.1 update, which currently has no release date. Patience pays in this case &#8211; or if you&#8217;d like, you can head over the dev team&#8217;s <a href="http://morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim">website</a> and volunteer your services.</p>
<p>The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released in 2011 and is arguably the most popular Elder Scrolls game of all time. It has seen three DLC packs, with Bethesda having halted all development on the title after the release of the Dragonborn DLC.</p>

Alexander J. Velicky, who created the Falskaar mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has joined Bungie Studios as an associate designer. So the argument that the best way to score a job with a game development studio is through modding still stands.</p>
<p>Writing on <a href="http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1479196-to-the-community-thank-you/">The Elder Scrolls forum</a>, Velicky stated that, “Of course, all of this leaves me with one corny ‘life lesson’ that I’d like to extend to all of you. Never be afraid to try. I set my sights on a professional design job pretty early, I lowered my head, charged forward, and rarely looked back. Of course, I ensured what I was doing had a reasonable chance for success from time to time. </p>
<p>&#8220;But the most surprising of all, is who I’ve ended up with. I applied to many companies, and Bungie was in my, &#8216;Huge company that will completely ignore me.&#8217; category. Well, they didn’t and look what it got me. Bungie is an awesome company with an amazing team, and I’m very lucky that they’ve decided to give me a chance! Never be afraid to try. I spent the time it took to apply and the rewards are proving to be greater than I could have possible imagined.”</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s how you can improve Crysis 2&#8217;s visuals even more. A modder from Crymod forums, has created a new mod that can be used to take Crysis 2 to another level. Yes, you can install it over Crytek&#8217;s DirectX 11 patch and the high res mod.</p>
<p>The mod was in development for two months, which is pretty fast considering most mods take years to come out. The mod improves upon the default lighting and adds vivid colours to the game.</p>

<p>Crytek has big plans for modders.  Editing tools for Crysis 2 and the CryEngine 3 platform will be released  for free this summer.</p>
<p>The tools will be released in  two parts. The first to arrive will be an editor for Crysis 2, coming  &#8220;early in summer&#8221; that will let modders build new maps, items and other  content for the stunning-looking shooter.</p>
<p>Next, in August it will release the full  CryEngine 3 SDK for free to anyone who fancies dabbling in the more  complex side of the powerful engine. CEO &amp; president of Crytek Cevat  Yerli says it will be the complete and full version of the SDK used to  create Crysis 2, and encourages users to &#8220;be creative&#8221; with it.</p>
<p>&#8220;This will be a complete version of our engine, including C++ code  access, our content exporters (including our LiveCreate real-time  pipeline), shader code, game sample code from Crysis 2, script samples,  new improved Flowgraph and a whole host of great asset examples, which  will allow teams to build complete games from scratch for PC,&#8221; Yerli  said via its official modding blog.</p>
<p>He goes on: &#8220;With all this  power in your hands &#8211; we know you&#8217;re going to do some amazing things  with the engine, so we&#8217;re working out how best to support you. We&#8217;ll  also be sharing our documentation with you, which is written by the  developers of the engine, and we&#8217;ll be giving you a new and improved  crymod.com. We&#8217;ll update the Free CryENGINE SDK regularly, to make sure  you have access to all the advances we make to CryENGINE 3.&#8221;</p>
<p>The  firm will also support those who wish to sell their creations. &#8220;If you  want to use it to make a game to launch commercially, we&#8217;d like to help  you with that. If you want to take your product down a traditional  commercial route, we will offer an innovative low cost licensing model  if you want to release your game digitally,&#8221; said Yerli.</p>
