The plethora of game announcements by Sony at GamesCom 2012 isn’t the only card the company will be playing to keep gamers on it’s side. The company launched PSOne Classics for the Playstation Vita, allowing gamers to revisit games from the era that made Sony into the gaming powerhouse it is today.

MonkeyPaw Games adds to that by announcing their list of Classics that will be playable after update v1.80 hits on August 28th. The titles in question include: Alundra, Vanguard Bandits, Arc the Lad, Arc the Lad II and Tomba!

John Greiner, president of MonkeyPaw Games, stated, “With these fine classics soon available on PS Vita, gamers will have access to our best RPG and action titles. Games like Tomba!, Arc the Lad and Alundra are a blast to play on the go. And now gamers can easily share these classic PlayStation experiences with their friends.”

And really, any attempt to allow today’s gamers to experience the rich history of gaming is always a win in our books.

Retro masters MonkeyPaw games have brought the Japan only shoot ’em up Kyuiin to western players for the first time via the Playstation Network.

According to the press release “The action-packed space shooter centers around a boy who loves reading his favorite fables. While doing so…out pops a fairy, who asks for help against an evil-do’er who’s been messing with his favorite plots. That’s enough to light his fire. Joining him on the fight is his (co-op) sister. As they look around the room for a vehicle, all they find is a dusty vacuum cleaner, which the fairy magically turns into his flying white stallion, of sorts.

So off you go with your vacuum hose and power cord as your weapons. Suck the evil into your hose and then shoot it back out during dire situations or whip fantastical creatures with your power cord.”

You can find Kyuiin in the PSone imports section of the PSN store for the tasty price of $5.99. Sounds like a steal at that price.
