Monster Hunter Online Beta Videos

A Chinese user on YouTube has posted a couple of videos from the on-going beta of Monster Hunter Online. Monster Hunter Online beta has started not too long ago in China, and beta testers have been able to record video footage of the game at its fullest glory. Currently, Monster Hunter Online is only available in China, however; foreign users may register for the beta also if they wish.

Monster Hunter Online is the most graphically enhanced Monster Hunter game, it’s running on the beautiful CryEngine 3 and looks gorgeous. It’s amazing to see such a long on-going franchise with graphical jumps. The graphical overhaul is what the Monster Hunter fans have been asking for quite a while.

Right now, the game will only be available on PC in China. Crytek have originally stated that the game will see an international release, however; the statement was later removed without notice for an unknown reason. Meanwhile, there’s still hope the game is still coming outside China and also hopefully on next-generation platforms such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Monster Hunter Online CG and Gameplay Trailers Released

Though still very much restricted to China, Monster Hunter Online is slowly but surely inching its way towards an international release. Tencent Games revealed that it was conducting a closed beta test for localization, and that we’d see beta invites for the game much later in North America and Europe. They also showcased some new trailers for the MMORPG, one with snazzy CG graphics that can be seen above.

The other trailer, thankfully, is gameplay footage and showcases just how the CryEngine 3-developed game looks. And we must say, for a Monster Hunter title and an MMO, it’s quite snazzy. It’ll still take time before we ever see the game released globally and progress is slow but at least it’s there.

Monster Hunter Online is the first game to not be developed by Capcom, with Tencent Games being backed by the publisher. It is currently only slated for the PC.

Monster Hunter MMO – Powered by CryEngine 3 Coming to China

First Next-Gen Monster Hunter coming to China. Monster Hunter MMO is being powered by CryEngine 3 and is only going to be available in China. Those who are seeking a true next-generation Monster Hunter experience else where, will have to wait.

When will Capcom release a true next-gen Monster Hunter for North America? That remains to be seen.

This project was joint by Capcom and Chinese media group Tencent, Monster Hunter Online is going to be free-to-play and will include all of the monsters that the franchise had throughout its history since the beginning of the PlayStation 2 era. This new Monster Hunter game will even have beasts that will require 24 players to kill them. There will also be battles that will occur while players are riding motorized water-crafts.
