Insurgency: Sandstorm, The Talos Principle 2, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, and more are also available on November 18th for PS4 and PS5.

With PS5 game streaming finally out of beta for PlayStation Portal, it’s a good time for Sony to reveal its latest wave of titles coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Starting on November 18th, Extra and Premium subscribers can experience Grand Theft Auto 5, which returns to the service for the third year in a row.

It might not completely take the sting away from GTA 6’s delay, but it remains one of the best games ever made. Of course, for those who can’t experience it on PS5, the PS4 version is also available. Other notable titles this month include rogue-like driving title Pacific Drive (which recently got an expansion) and first-person narrative horror Still Wakes the Deep, both playable on PS5.

Multiplayer fans who enjoyed Battlefield 6 might want to check out Insurgency: Sandstorm, which offers another modern setting with realistic gunplay on PS4 and PS5. If you’re keen on something more light-hearted, there’s the British comedy title Thank Goodness You’re Here! Another underrated addition, at least for puzzle gamers, is The Talos Principle 2 (with the original receiving a remaster earlier this year).

Monster Jam Showdown and MotoGP 25 offer solid racing, while Premium subscribers get access to Tomb Raider: Anniversary on PS5 and PS4.

MotoGP 25 is a challenging, and highly authentic racer held back by weak presentation and repetitive commentary.

The MotoGP game series has been something of a mixed bag over the past several years. MotoGP 20, for example, delivered exactly what it promised: a strong, detailed simulation for hardcore enthusiasts, but very little beyond that. For that specific audience, it delivered in spades; for everyone else, your motorcycle racing fix was likely better found elsewhere. MotoGP 21 continued Milestone’s slow crawl of iterative tweaks and refinements, acceptable for fans, but still short of being a truly universal recommendation.

MotoGP 22 showed more promise and improved on several fronts, but still left much of its potential untapped. Last year’s entry, MotoGP 24, was the series’ tightest and most polished entry, but it also felt like just another incremental update. So that brings us to this year’s release: MotoGP 25. The question is, does it finally take the series to new heights?

Let’s get one very important thing out of the way. The racing in MotoGP 25 feels absolutely realistic as you compete against other racers on world-famous tracks, battling for position and looking out for that perfect overtaking opportunity. There’s a genuine sense of speed and aggression, especially when you’re jostling with other riders. Go too aggressive, and the rear of your motorcycle might lose control, sending you into a crash; play it too safe, and you’ll be swallowed up by the competition in no time. The bikes in MotoGP 25 are perhaps the most realistic the series has ever seen, with every element from the tires’ grip and braking to acceleration, playing a vital role in how each race unfolds.

"On the gameplay modes front, MotoGP 25 provides a solid range of options to choose from."

The game offers two distinct riding styles: Pro and Arcade. As expected, Pro mode leans into authenticity, demanding mastery, while Arcade mode offers a more forgiving, streamlined experience that still feels fast but is less punishing. Even so, newcomers to the franchise will likely face a steep learning curve, as the controls and physics can be challenging to learn. Thankfully, the game includes a range of assist options to help ease the learning process, but don’t expect an easy ride if you’re unfamiliar with the series. For returning players, however, these two modes provide a great way to jump in based on your history and skill level.

One of the standout improvements in MotoGP 25 is the AI behavior of your competitors. This year, the drivers feels genuinely smart and, thankfully, don’t rely on rubber-banding to overtake you. Your opponents race fairly, adjusting their behavior based on how you drive, thanks to the game’s adaptive difficulty system. You can, of course, turn off this setting and set the AI to any fixed percentage you prefer, but leaving it on makes races far more exciting. The game learns your racing style and tweaks the behavior of other riders accordingly, adding a sense of unpredictability to every race. It’s a clever system that I truly appreciate for keeping each race feeling competetive and engaging.

On the gameplay modes front, MotoGP 25 provides a solid range of options to choose from. You have your classic Grand Prix mode, where you can pick any track and driver of your choice, opt for a full race weekend, or jump straight into the race. Then there’s the MotoGP World Championship mode, where you step into the shoes of an existing rider and take part in races across the full calendar. As expected, it’s a straightforward experience: score points, help your team in the constructors’ championship, and ultimately aim to be crowned world champion.

"There’s also a neat layer of on-track driver interaction. Race too aggressively and some rivals may start disliking you."

Beyond that, there are smaller treats to enjoy, like Time Trials (beat the clock, simple and sweet) and the MotoGP Academy, where you can earn medals by setting the best sector times across different tracks. The game also offers side activities like Flat Track (dirt racing focused on sliding), Motard (asphalt racing with tight corners), and Minibike events (precision-focused races using lightweight bikes). These extra modes aren’t revolutionary, they’re the kind of expected additions you’d hope for by now, but they serve as enjoyable “snack-sized” distractions from the main championship mode.

However, the real meat and potatoes of MotoGP 25 is undoubtedly the Career Mode. Players can start their journey in any of the three main tiers: Moto3, Moto2, or the premier MotoGP class, and work their way up. A big part of the experience involves developing your bike by being in constant touch with your engineer. You can request improvements to specific components, like the engine or the frame, and as you complete objectives and progress through the career mode, your bike evolves alongside you.

There’s also a neat layer of on-track driver interaction. Race too aggressively and some rivals may start disliking you. Drive cleanly, and they may begin to respect you. Stay neutral, and they’ll remain indifferent towards you. Adding to this is a social media feed, where other drivers may comment on your on track activities. In one of my races, I crashed, and a rival actually called me out in the post-race feed and I could respond with a couple of options. It’s a small touch, but it does a great job of building driver relationships over time. The better you perform and the more objectives you meet, the faster the game will open you up to new technology and bigger team opportunities. All of this works quite well, but there’s one major drawback: the lack of voice acting or spoken dialogue. It makes the mode feel more like a text-heavy management sim than an immersive career experience. Now, I’m not expecting full-blown cutscenes, but even light voice acting would’ve added a lot to the immersion. Despite this shortcoming, the Career Mode provides a well-paced and rewarding progression system for both your rider and the bike.

When it comes to sound design, MotoGP 25 is a mixed bag. The motorcycles themselves sound absolutely fantastic, arguably as close to their real-life counterparts as you can get in a game, and are paired with slick riding animations that really sell the sense of speed. Unfortunately, the commentary is where things fall flat. It’s repetitive, dull, and hearing the same lines before and after every race gets old fast. It’s disappointing that a series with so much racing history still can’t deliver engaging commentary.

Graphically, MotoGP 25 continues that mixed streak. Let’s get this out of the way: the motorcycles look stunning. From their high resolution textures to the various camera angle to every little detail, it’s clear that Milestone loves these motorcycles, and it shows. The rider models, with their sponsor-heavy suits, are also well done, and the tracks themselves are generally well detailed. However, some trackside details and NPCs remain as underwhelming as ever. Yes, I know that no one is really watching them, but how long do racing games keep getting a free pass for bland visuals outside the racing line? That said, the game is a real visual treat during wet weather. Rain effects and other weather details not only look great but also affect your bike’s handling in meaningful ways.

On the performance front, we played on PC at 4K with every setting maxed out. The performance was largely stable, although there were occasional frame drops during heavy rain. Overall, it ran pretty smoothly and we didn’t encounter any major bugs or crashes.

For players who are in to deep customization will also have plenty to dig into. MotoGP 25 offers hundreds of customization options including but not limited to stickers, helmets, gloves, suits, and more. It’s incredibly deep, and I can easily see hardcore fans spending hours polishing every visual detail of their rider. Personally, it wasn’t something I got into much, but I completely see the appeal for players who enjoy that level of personalization.

"On the performance front, we played on PC at 4K with every setting maxed out. The performance was largely stable, although there were occasional frame drops during heavy rain."

So, the big question on everyone’s mind: does MotoGP 25 deliver, and is it better than its predecessors? As far as pure racing is concerned, it absolutely does. The sense of speed, the realistic physics, the excellent AI that learns and adapts from your on track behavior, and the plethora of modes make this one of the best MotoGP games to date. Add in the superbly detailed bike models, the depth in weather physics and customization, and racing enthusiasts will find a lot to love here.

However, noticeable flaws like the disappointing commentary, the underwhelming presentation in Career Mode and the weak trackside graphics keep MotoGP 25 from reaching true greatness. If you can overlook those shortcomings, though, you’ll find a racing experience that captures the speed, and thrill of MotoGP better than almost any racing game out there.

The twelve year old console is not dead yet.

There’s life in the old dog yet. Whilst the aging PlayStation 4 misses out on the bulk of new releases nowadays, there’s still a wealth of fantastic games releasing on Sony’s now twelve-year-old system. Here’re fifteen games coming in 2025 to PS4 that are worthy of your time.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Hotly anticipated sequel to Garou: Mark of the Wolves – a fighting game many regard as amongst the finest – Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has a steep hill to climb if the series is to re-establish itself alongside the pantheon of all-timers. Gracefully, City of the Wolves revitalises the fighting techniques of its predecessors whilst injecting novel mechanics and its own eye-catching art style to modernise the experience for players new and old.

MotoGP 25

New modes, from dedicated motard, flat track, and minibike racing to a never-seen-before casual arcade experience, bring plenty of novel ways to ride in MotoGP 25, but Milestone’s latest superbike sim aims to provide untold levels of authenticity from an area you might not expect. This year, sound design has been completely overhauled via on-track audio captured first-hand from the exhausts and tyre squeals of official bikes. MotoGP 25 has potential to be the long-standing series’ best entry in years.

Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny

Remaster of the 2002 PS2 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is gifting new opportunities to relive the original’s intense swordplay and dramatic revenge story with hi-res graphics and improved controls. Additional language support, new gallery modes, a refreshed soundtrack, intense ‘Hell’ mode difficulty, and a very welcome quality of life contributing auto save feature round out this enrapturing odyssey through medieval Japan.

Elden Ring Nightreign

Co-op games are resurging in 2025, with this standalone spin-off set within the Elden Ring universe – a harrowing experience created specifically for a troupe of up to three of players to venture deep within the grim locale of Limveld together – promises to be a standout. In true FromSoft fashion, surviving a three-day cycle in Elden Ring Nightreign will be anything but a cakewalk. Teams will encounter highly skilled, soul-crushingly tough opponents during each run. However, collectible relics will, with any luck, make subsequent runs more manageable.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4

The industry’s worst kept secret officially announced on March 4th, and whilst many shared trepidation that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 will eschew its open-ended career mode skating for, what new dev team Iron Galaxy proclaim, as a return to 1 to 3’s ‘epic two-minute format’, there’s no denying Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is a welcome package. Revitalised parks, a handful a new courses, plus a quartet of new skaters (not including Doom Slayer) ensure Tony Hawk’s latest round of remakes are destined to do well.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

If you’re on the fence about Ninja Gaiden’s upcoming 2D side scroller, just know that it is a modern reimagining of the classic platformer, with all the mechanical depth of a modern adventure uniting with visual 8-bit pazazz. Ragebound could be the platforming sleeper hit of the year.

Little Nightmares III

The pint-sized dread fest is returning, only, switching things up for Little Nightmares III is the introduction of co-operative gameplay, either couch, online, or via AI. Low and Alone, our poor children stuck inside a horrifying realm known as The Maw, must combine their unique skills and gadgets to overcome a breadth of tricky environmental puzzles all whilst evading the clutches of a horde of evil monsters.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance

Speaking of platforming sleeper hits ala Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, another iconic side-scroller is getting the modern treatment in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, and this one is coming directly from the team who made Streets of Rage 4. A Supergiant Games-style hand-drawn art style belies what looks to be a super-precise platformer, although it remains to be seen if the team at Lizardcube have toned down the series’ historic difficulty. Either way, mastering the way of the Shinobi has never looked better.

Absolum

Okay, the aforementioned Dotemu have a hand in this one too, but unlike their prior publishing exploits this is the team’s first original IP, and it has all the hallmarks of an instant classic. Absolum is a roguelite, side-scrolling beat ‘em up set within an original fantasy realm. Here, a likeable cast of brawlers, each with distinct fighting styles, rapid combo chains, and spellcasting power, traipse through levels harbouring multiple paths and unpredictable encounters, promising an enveloping experience with every run.

Terminator 2D: No Fate

More 2D action side scrolling, only this one an officially licensed recreation of iconic movie Terminator 2. Terminator 2D: No Fate oozes adrenaline fuelled arcade style via thrilling set pieces plucked straight out of the film, lovingly crafted here in stunning pixel art. In addition to playing through the movie as on-screen icons Sarah Conner and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800, players will also get to experience novel Future War missions as an adult John Connor, with futuristic pipe bombs and plasma cannons the weapons of choice as he leads the resistance on a battle against Skynet’s sentient machines.

Dying Light: The Beast

This standalone Dying Light adventure set more than a decade after events of the series’ mainline titles reunites you with Kyle Crane – protagonist of the first game – before transporting you both to country resort Castor Woods. After years of inhumane imprisonment and experimentation, Crane is out for blood and, as luck would have it, he’s now imbued with zombie DNA. This genetic modification grants him beast-like powers which players can use to rip shreds out of those who kept him in captivity for so long.

Commandos: Origins

The legendary real-time tactics forebearer is making a triumphant return in 2025, and this time we’ll be exploring the elite covert-operation unit’s beginnings in Commandos: Origins. Undertaking daring rescues, clandestine sabotage, and edge-of-seat raids are the squad led by poster boy for the series – the Green Beret – and there’ll be a range of audacious missions and pivotal moments to undertake, from the Arctic circle to past the Eastern front.

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is coming West for the first time, the all-star clash between heroes from Falcom’s legendary RPG series’ having originally released for the PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2010. This version features remastered graphics and 60 FPS support, couch and online multiplayer, English voice acting, and a wealth of wallpapers and soundtracks from Falcom titles of old. Finally, the cult favourite, fast-paced battler has a home outside of Japan.

Mouse: P.I. for Hire

Combining 1930’s animation with the thrill of explosive first person shooting, in Mouse: P.I. for Hire you assume command of Private Investigator Jack Pepper who becomes embroiled in a gritty underworld of crooks and mobsters, these hand-drawn characters chilling enough to commit murder, corruption, and blackmail. We can safely say we’ve never seen a game quite like this.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake

On-rails shooting masterclass The House of the Dead 2: Remake reimagines the classic arcade experience in high-definition graphics, with remastered music and optional co-operative play. The first House of the Dead remake had its issues, but here’s hoping developer MegaPixel Studio have ploughed all their knowledge into this sequel as, on balance, House of the Dead 2 was always the superior title.

Remasters, first-party exclusives, long-awaited sequels, surprising follow-ups and more await. Check out this month's big releases.

March had its fair share of releases and new titles, but April is a whole other beast in quantity and quality. Remasters, ports, long-awaited sequels, exclusives, at least one incredible-looking RPG – there’s a lot to look forward to. Check out the 15 biggest games launching in April 2025.

Days Gone Remastered

After years of asking for a sequel, Days Gone fans have been rewarded with…a PS5 remaster. Thankfully, Days Gone Remastered, out on April 25th features some notable new content like Horde Assault, where Deacon must survive against larger, more challenging hordes. Enemies become more difficult as time passes, and you can even control brand-new characters to survive for as long as possible.

You also have Speedrun and Permadeath modes with graphical improvements, reduced loading times and DualSense support. PS4 owners can upgrade to the remaster for $10, and all content will be available for PC players via the Broken Roads DLC at launch.

Forza Horizon 5 (PS5)

For a long time (over three years, in fact), the de facto racing experience on PS5 has been Gran Turismo 7. However, it’s finally getting some real competition when Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5 launches on April 25th. It’s the first title in the franchise to debut on a Sony console and, more importantly, one of the very best with its incredible open world, stunning visuals, hundreds of cars, and a litany of features.

Best of all, a new update, Horizon Realms, goes live the same day, offering up 11 returning tracks, the new Stadium Track, over 60 Accolades, new cars, and much more.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered (PC)

Just when you thought it was over, somehow, The Last of Us returns, right on time for season 2 of the TV series. It’s the PS5 remaster debuting for PC on April 3rd, and alongside all the platform-specific features like support for Ultrawide displays, DLSS and FSR, there’s some brand new content in No Return. The rogue-like mode will receive two new characters and four new maps to go with the previously included Lost Levels, developer commentary, Guitar Free Play and more.

South of Midnight

With a story seeped in Deep South mythology and stop-motion-like visuals for its cutscenes, South of Midnight is an unexpectedly endearing new title from Compulsion Games. Launching on April 8th for Xbox Series X/S and PC, it’s about Hazel who becomes a Weaver after her hometown is wrecked by a hurricane. From interacting with giant fish and crocodiles to mending spiritual bonds, she seeks her own place in the universe while dealing with tragedy. With about 15 to 25 hours of gameplay, South of Midnight could be one of the more underrated titles of the year.

Commandos: Origins

Jack O’Hara and his legendary Commandos return, albeit in a prequel that explores their origins. Launching on April 9th for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, players will embark on over ten missions throughout World War 2, combining their squad’s strengths to succeed. Go alone or with a friend in split-screen or online co-op, and experiment with different approaches to succeed, be it stealth, subterfuge or chaos.

Descenders Next

An extreme-sports-meets-rogue-like title is already fairly unorthodox, but RageSquid is taking the formula even further with Descenders Next. You can still play solo or with up to other players and find the best way to reach the bottom of the mountain as quickly as possible. It’s an instinctual joy, and there are new clothes and boards to unlock, a new soundtrack, and much more to dive into when it launches on April 9th.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Sandfall Interactive’s homage to real-time parrying and dodging and an imaginative fantasy world. Suffice it to say that it looks like a winner ahead of its launch on April 24th with its 30+ hour main story, gorgeous visuals and an all-star cast.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

A sequel to Garou: Mark of the Wolves wasn’t on every fighting game fan’s wishlist for 2025, but here we are. Launching on April 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC, City of the Wolves sees several returning fighters, some newcomers, and even a few debuts by Fatal Fury legends. With rollback netcode, cross-play, a new RPG-like single-player mode and the REV System for new tactics, it could take the community by storm.

MotoGP 25

As little as the franchise evolves year after year, you have to give credit to Milestone’s MotoGP franchise for its consistency. The latest title, MotoGP 25, launches on April 30th and offers new Race Off Disciplines for its modes, a new Arcade Experience, improved adaptive difficulty, and cross-play. It’s coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Steel Seed

Close to the Sun developer, Storm in a Teacup is going in a completely different direction with its next title, Steel Seed. As Zoe, players traverse a mysterious facility in a post-apocalyptic world, dealing with hordes of unwelcoming machines. Mixing platforming and puzzles with combat and light stealth, Steel Seed launches on April 10th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.

Bionic Bay

Speaking of platformers, Bionic Bay, slated for last month, arrives on April 17th for PS5 and PC. The biomechanical setting and premise are still intriguing, however, and having the ability to flip environments, and manipulate physics to traverse obstacles looks cool. And for those who really want to test their platforming skills, an Online Mode with events and leaderboards is also included.

Tempest Rising

If you’ve been feeling the lack of any Command and Conquer-like titles over the past several years, Slipgate Ironworks’ Tempest Rising may help. It’s out on April 24th for PC, offering two playable factions with unique units, two campaigns, online multiplayer, custom games, and the base-building real-time strategy you know and love.

Forever Skies

A survival crafting game in a post-apocalyptic setting may not inspire the most interest, but Forever Skies offers some intriguing spins on the formula. Instead of exploring the dust-covered Earth on foot, you’re venturing through the skies on an airship, gathering resources to upgrade it from various skyscrapers and structures. What awaits on the surface? You’ll have to find out when Forever Skies exits early access and launches on April 14th for PS5 and PC.

Crashlands 2

The sequel to Butterscotch Shenanigans’ survival crafting classic finally arrives on April 10th and sees Flux Dabes returning to Woanope to reunite with her buddies. Things quickly go wrong though, and after yet another crash landing, she embarks on a journey to find out what’s happening while combating dangerous creatures, unlocking upgrades, and more. With vastly improved visuals, new recipes, and more, Crashlands 2 could be the perfect cozy crafting sim for fans when it launches on PC, iOS, and Android.

Monaco 2

Speaking of a long-awaited sequel to a classic title, Monaco 2 also launches on April 10th for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Much like the original, you’re still conducting heists alone or with up to three other players but there are new characters and playstyles and Blueprint Mode for finer planning. Whether you’re in it for the zany yet stylish campaign or the long haul with its procedurally generated levels, Monaco 2 should be a worthy follow-up.

Along with a career mode, MotoGP 25 also features comprehensive multiplayer options, including local split-screen for 2 players.

Milestone has announced its latest entry into the MotoGP bike racing franchise. Appropriately titled MotoGP 25, the game was announced alongside a trailer that you can check out below.

MotoGP 25 will feature all of the riders and tracks from the 2025 season of the sport, along with Moto2 and Moto3. Some of the newer tracks that will be available in the game are Brno in Czechia, and Balaton Park in Hungary. Brno is especially notable since it is returning to the games after five years.

One of the newer features in MotoGP 25 is Training Sessions, where players can ride simply for fun rather than competitively. Along the way, players will also get to work on improving different disciplines, such as Motard, Flat Track, and Minibikes.

The game will also feature a new Arcade Experience, which offers a more simplified experience rather than going all-in on the sim aspects of the game. The Arcade mode is meant to offer a more accessible point of entry for players that might be new to the MotoGP franchise.

On the multiplayer side of things, players will also get to race against those on other platforms thanks to crossplay. As for modes, there will be ranked races, as well as the LiveGP Championship mode, as well as local two-player split-screen multiplayer.

It is worth noting that crossplay, the LiveGP Championship mode, and the sharing of user-generated content will not be available on the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

MotoGP 25 will also feature plenty of options for customisation thanks to an in-game editor. Players can customise a host of different things, including helmets, stickers, and even podium emotes.

MotoGP 25 is coming to PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch on April 30. The game has been developed using Unreal Engine 5.
