If you want to experience either mode, you'll need to create offline saves from scratch.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/56.-NBA-2K14.jpg" alt="56.
2K Games’ NBA 2K14 has gone offline this month and taken many user saves with it, despite the publisher assuring fans that online saves would convert into offline saves when this happened.

In a recent email from 2K obtained by Polygon, this won’t be happening after all. “This means that if you had created a MyCareer or a MyGM online save file that was once connected to our servers it too sadly has retired and is no longer available for use and it would be necessary to re-create these files as offline saves.

“Sadly this may come as an inconvenience to some of you and if so we truly do understand and can feel for how upsetting this may seem as there always is a special bond that occurs between a player and their MyCareer save but all good things must come to an end and rest assured your MyCareer or MyGM went out while on top.”

So if you need to play MyCareer mode, you’ll have to create a new offline save. Thoughts on this wonderful development? Let us know in the comments.

Sony has finally confirmed the free PlayStation Plus titles that will be heading to the Instant Game Collection in June. This month will be extra special because both European and North American subscribers will be receiving two PS4 titles for free rather than one. These are Trine 2: Complete Story and Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate.

For North America, you’ll receive NBA 2K14 and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time on the PlayStation 3 with the latter being a cross-buy title. This means you’ll be hopping with Sly and friends on the Vita as well. PS Vita games will include Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe.

Meanwhile in Europe, PS3 players can look forward to NBA 2K14 and horror adventure title Lone Survivor: Director’s Cut. PS Vita games include Dragon’s Crown and Surge Deluxe.

What are your thoughts on the PS Plus titles for June, especially with regards to two free PS4 titles instead of one? Let us know below.

Thanks to an advertisement accidentally shown on the Sony Entertainment Store, we now have an idea about the free titles coming to PlayStation Plus’s Instant Game Collection in June.

PlayStation 4 users will be receiving Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate while the PlayStation 3 will be receiving Lone Survivor and NBA 2K14. PlayStation Vita users will receive Dragon’s Crown. Overall, a very solid line-up of strong releases across the board, whether you’re interested in action RPG beat ’em ups, indie horror titles or sports games. Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate will meanwhile feature both of the original games with revamped visuals, a 60 FPS frame rate, a new HUD and much more.

There will also be Cross Save and Cross Play functionality with the PS Vita. This probably means you’ll be able to access the PS4 version arriving for PS Plus in June on the Vita as well. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments below.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! may be on its way but Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2 is still making money. In its recent financial report for the fourth quarter and entire fiscal year, Take Two Interactive revealed that Borderlands 2 had shipped 9 million units since its release in September 2012. While this doesn’t reflect units sold, it’s still the best-selling 2K Games title in history.

Take Two already noted that Grand Theft Auto 5 shipped 33 million units since its release in September 2013, which is up by 500,000 units since the last report 3 months ago. NBA 2K14 managed to ship 6.5 million units since release while Civilization 5 shipped 5 million units.

Currently, Rockstar Games is rumoured to be releasing Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, along with possibly bringing Red Dead Redemption to PC. There’s no confirmation on either rumour aside from some retail listings here and there. We’re looking forward to E3 for more information so stay tuned.

Xbox Live’s Games on Demand has some new offerings for this week which include NBA 2K14 and Need for Speed: Rivals, both available for 50 percent off. You can also pick up three Jewelry titles and Spanish Commentary add-ons for 50 percent off. These offers will be good until April 28th.

NBA 2K14 comes by way of Visual Concepts and 2K Sports, and is arguably one of the best basketball games you can get today. It offers revamped controls and improved visuals along with tons of new innovations. Ghost Games’ Need for Speed: Rivals is the latest iteration in EA’s racing franchise which offers the traditional street racing and cop battles that adorned the best entries in the franchise.

Both games are definitely worth a look even on the Xbox 360. Which games would you like to see next for Xbox Live’s Games on Demand? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Take Two Interactive revealed its third quarter FY 2014 financial report, and to the surprise of no one, Grand Theft Auto 5 was named as a huge success. The game has reportedly shipped 35 million units since launching in September 2013 and helped Take Two achieve a net revenue of $1.86 billion, up from $415.8 million in the same quarter for 2013.

Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that the overall success of the publisher was due to “robust demand” for the game. He also named NBA 2K14, WWE 2K14 and growth in digital revenues from GTA Online as major successes. GTA Online, by the way, has been tried once by roughly 70 percent of total players since it launched.

Overall net income for this quarter is $578.4 million, a huge increase from $70.9 million in the same quarter from last year. Cash and cash equivalents total $972.2 million for the company and Take Two is looking to increase its financial predictions, delivering non-GAAP earnings in 2014.

Earlier today the official 2K Games Twitter tweeted that an all new patch has been submitted which will aim to tweak and fix up several in game issues that gamers have been experiencing. This is the fourth patch that has been released for NBA 2K14 thus far. The patch allegedly aims to fix a number of issues, but will focus on problems that gamers have been having with the XB1 drop to main menu.

“#NBA2K14 Patch 4 submitted to 1st party. Looks to address XB1 drop to main menu issue among other fixes. Usual 10-14 day approval process.”

Either way, it’ll be at least two weeks before the patch is actually approved for released by 2K Games and subsequently implemented via digital download.

Odds are that this patch will not address every issue that has been encountered in NBA 2K14 thus far, but as problems continue to surface we can be assured that 2K Games will be vigilant in patching as often as they can.

Now here’s something interesting: Visual Concepts’ NBA 2K14, which received rave reviews on both current and next gen platforms, has apparently been patched since release to be always-online for the Xbox One and PS4. According to a recent NeoGAF, you have to be connected at all times in order to play the game, even during single-player modes.

Why? Purely because of the game’s Virtual Currency, which seems to tied to all aspects of the game and needs to be authenticated via the publisher’s servers. In order to prevent cheating, that authentication is going on at all times and necessitates an always online console. To make things worse, if your connection drops during play for any reason, you immediately exit the game.

And no, this wasn’t mentioned during or before launch. 2K Sports hasn’t even taken the time to clarify it publicly since the next gen versions releases. The person in question did later report that you can play the game without an internet connection – however, you’ll be fairly limited in what you can do. MyCareer and MyGM modes are totally inaccessible, and there will be an authentication loop for several minutes before the game starts as “offline”.

Have you been facing this issue lately? If so, what are your thoughts on the same? Let us know in the comments below. For a generation that opposed “always online” DRM for consoles, it’s amazing that 2K Sports even thought of implementing such a mechanic.

No, not the one that powered the PS2.

NBA 2K14 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One looks seriously impressive visually. It might actually be the most impressive looking next generation title right now, which is saying something, considering the launch titles for the Xbox One and PS4 include a Killzone, a game by Crytek, and a FOrza game.

Now, the newest trailer for the game shows us that its scope and ambition is not just for its graphics, it also extends to the actual game itself: the new Eco-Motion engine adds an insane amount of emotional depth to the players on field, and everything about them, from their posture and stance to their dribbling, facial expression, energy levels, and how they play.

It’s some seriously impressive stuff, and it’s the kind of stuff that will probably end up making NBA 2K14 stand out so far from the competition.

The game launches with both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Stay tuned.
