16 titles will retail for $19.99 on PS4 from November 2nd onwards.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is garnering positive reviews. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is revitalizing interest in the franchise. Even Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is pretty good. Heck, even among the exclusives for PlayStation 4, Spider-Man has been raking it in, and has a new DLC pack, The Heist, available now.

However, if you’re interested in playing some of the older titles on PS4 at a discount, then there’s good news- Sony will be adding 16 games to the PlayStation Hits line-up on November 2nd. That means older titles which have been successful enough will retail for $19.99, just in time for the Holiday season. The full list of games for November includes:

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

Until Dawn

Batman: Arkham Knight

Need for Speed Rivals

UFC 2

Need for Speed

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition

Dying Light: The Following

Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair

Mortal Kombat X

Injustice

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends

Battlefield Hardline

Dragon Age: Inquisition

So if you’re interested in the PlayStation Hits version of the above, look for their special red packaging. Other titles that have been added to the line-up (for the United States) include Bloodborne, DriveClub, LittleBigPlanet 3, The Last of Us: Remastered, Uncharted 4 and much more. At $20, picking up titles like Mortal Kombat X, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Dragon Age Inquisition is a steal, if we’ve ever seen one.

First Trials unfortunately not included.

Xbox One users take note – today marks the beginning of free EA Access until January 24th. This will allow users to take advantage of the Vault’s sizeable collection of games including Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Titanfall, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield 4, Battlefield: Hardline, Need for Speed Rivals and much ore.

It should be noted that while this is a trial, your progress will carry over should you decide to purchase EA Access or any of the games available on it. Unfortunately, you won’t be getting access to those early trials on upcoming games.

According to EA Access on Twitter, “Play First Trials are not available through the Free Play Days that start tomorrow.” These include trials for FIFA 16 and Need for Speed 2015.

EA Access is available only on Xbox One for $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year. Origin users have their own alternative with Origin Access that currently costs $4.99. Thoughts on the free trial for EA Access? Let us know in the comments.

There's your new Need for Speed game for this year.

Last year’s Need for Speed Rivals, which was the first game in EA’s flagship racing game franchise to be developed by Ghost Games, was actually a surprisingly good game, probably the best true entry in the franchise since 2005’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted, almost a decade ago at this point. But if, for some reason, you decided to sit out on the game, you don’t have to worry (nor do you have much of an excuse) as EA and Ghost Games are releasing a ‘Complete Edition’ that comes with all the DLC included, next month.

The DLC will mostly be all the cars and car packs that were made available over the last year, and the Complete Edition will be available on all the platforms the game was originally released on- Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information on upcoming games and products.

Ghost Games' awesome racing game is now available to EA Access holders.

Ghost Games’ Need for Speed Rivals is now available on EA Access. This means that all Xbox One users will be able to access the game for free – if they have an EA Access subscription of course.

Need for Speed Rivals essentially takes the game back to the illegal street racing scene, except you’ll explore the wide-open terrain of Redview County. Not only will you be able to access missions across the open world but you’ll even have a chance to take on the role of a cop and bust street racers. Despite some good critical acclaim, the success of Need for Speed Rivals wasn’t enough to keep Ghost Games afloat. The studio has since been disbanded – with members since joining other studios – and the franchise put on hold.

Regardless, Rivals is still a great experience. EA Access costs £49.49 for a year and NFS Rivals will not be leaving the Vault ever. Is that enough to warrant a subscription? Let us know below.

As are demo versions for FIFA 15 and NHL 15.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-182446" src="https://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/24.-Need-for-Speed-Rivals.jpg" alt="24.
EA will be bringing the newest entry in their long running racing franchise, Need for Speed: Rivals, to EA Access ‘in the coming weeks,’ they have announced. This will make Need for Speed: Rivals the fifth full game to be available in ‘The Vault’ on EA Access, alongside Peggle 2, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, and Madden NFL 25.

Need for Speed: Rivals was released last year for PC and the Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and we at GamingBolt really liked it, calling it the best and truest Need for Speed game in a very long time. It being on EA Access should mean that more people are exposed to it, which is always a good thing.

EA also confirmed that trial versions for both, NHL and FIFA 15, will be going live soon, meaning that you will get six hours to play around with each game five days before the release date. Your saves and Achievements will carry over into the full games, should you decide to buy them, and the games themselves will be offered for 10% cheaper.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.

Feeling the Need for Speed? Sadly, the movie will be the only release in the franchise this year.

We won’t be seeing a new Need for Speed title this year according to EA in a recent post-earnings conference call. Ghost Games, which developed last year’s Need for Speed Rivals and suffered lay-offs and other redundancies, is apparently working on the next game and EA has allocated another year of development for the same.

Ghost Games general manager Marcus Nilsson stated the same in a recent open letter. “We are already deep in development on our next game and want to make this promise to you: we will listen to you. We’re going to give you the game you’ve been asking for. It will be the game you deserve, but to do that will take us some time.

“We’ve made the decision to not release a Need for Speed in 2014, so we can work towards a highly innovative Need for Speed in 2015. An experience built on a foundation we know you’ll greatly look forward to.”

Expect Ghost Games to get involved with the community in the mean time and take its help to “shape the future of Need for Speed”.

“We want your input on future gameplay and features we know you’re passionate about. We will keep innovating, always making sure to continue the celebration of cars and the joy they bring. That’s all we can share for now but remember this is just the beginning. We’re excited and ready, so come along and join the conversation.”

So we can scratch Need for Speed off of our E3 2014 wishlist. Stay tuned for more details.

Xbox Live’s Games on Demand has some new offerings for this week which include NBA 2K14 and Need for Speed: Rivals, both available for 50 percent off. You can also pick up three Jewelry titles and Spanish Commentary add-ons for 50 percent off. These offers will be good until April 28th.

NBA 2K14 comes by way of Visual Concepts and 2K Sports, and is arguably one of the best basketball games you can get today. It offers revamped controls and improved visuals along with tons of new innovations. Ghost Games’ Need for Speed: Rivals is the latest iteration in EA’s racing franchise which offers the traditional street racing and cop battles that adorned the best entries in the franchise.

Both games are definitely worth a look even on the Xbox 360. Which games would you like to see next for Xbox Live’s Games on Demand? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Did we mention it's free?

Ghost Games may be pretty much defunct but Need for Speed: Rivals, their first and only NFS title, still lives. The game recently received free DLC in the form of the Koenigsegg Agera One:1 car. With 1340bhp, it can be used by both cops and getaway drivers. It’s also indeed got the “need” for speed. The DLC is available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 users at no cost whatsoever. Check it out above.

As the most recent game in the series, Rivals was created by Ghost Games in associated with Criterion’s founders. The studio has since been laid off with contractors having been dismissed while full-time employees have either left or transitioned to Visceral Games, the Dead Space developer said to be working on a new Battlefield title.

Rivals continues to thrive but for how long? We’ll find out as the months go by about the future of NFS.

EA is currently having a "consultation period" for positions at Ghost Games.

According to a report on Polygon, it seems that Electronic Arts have laid off several employees who were working at Ghost Games, developer of Need for Speed: Rivals. This has put the next game in the series, which is being handled by the studio, on hold.

EA has apparently dismissed contractors and told full-time staff that they could either be compensated and then leave or stay on to work with Visceral for their next game “Havana” (which is rumoured to be a new Battlefield) and will be out this year.

As of now, the only comment EA has offered is that it has “entered a consultation period for some positions in our Ghost Games U.K. studio.”

Take that to mean what you will but it’ll be a while before the next Need for Speed is out. Considering the positive reviews and sales of Rivals, that’s somewhat of a shame. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.
